This was a very nice hotel situated on a lake. The rooms were very nice and very clean and the hotel staff did a nice job. The price was pretty reasonable. we really liked the beds and the sleep quality was good. Last, we found the restaurant to serve very good food with very good service. The included breakfast was very good. The only drawback to this nice hotel was that it was right next to a large farm and the farm smells were overpowering and did not allow us to open the windows for fresh cool air. other than that we really enjoyed this property.

We stayed here for a night and it was perfectly acceptable. It was happy hour when we arrived which was a bonus in Iceland. The room was very good but as seems to be quite normal there was a strong smell of sulphur when using the shower. We were eating out so missed the restaurant but some Icelandic people travelling with us said that the food would have been very good, breakfast certainly was so all was well. I liked the quirky bar and reception area too which was a nice place to sit around and have a drink.

Nice location, with a peep of the lake from my room. My double room had a traditional feel, with all necessary facilities, but would be rather cramped for two, and had a particularly strong sulphur smell. The restaurant was a nice place to sit for both dinner and breakfast. It wasn't easy to get a table for dinner (unfortunately, as I was travelling with a tour group, there was no opportunity to reserve in advance). The menu was interesting, as they like to experiment, but the actual flavours didn’t come together so well for me so felt overpriced.

If they give you rooms 109 or 110. They are the only 2 rooms in the basement with entrance from outside the hotel, no sights, you need to walk down outdoor stairs, no lift. WiFi does not work and shower hanger is wrong. We asked for a change and they claimed they were full.

Just spent a night with friends whilst driving around Iceland. Our room was well appointed but did not have any toilet paper. It took 2 calls over 2 hours to get some brought up to our room. There is an overall smell of sulphar when showering. Dinner in the restaurant was very good. Plenty to choose from and great service. They catered well for my lactose intolerance, but that is where it ends .... Woke up for a hearty breakfast and made our way downstairs at 7am when the restaurant opened . There was no staff welcoming you but a notice in the wall to wait to be seated. After a couple of minutes we decided to find our own table. Now for the breakfast buffet- most of the plates were empty and again no staff to speak to. I went to search for someone to ask as being lactose intolerant I needed soy/almond/rice milk to have with my cereal but they had none on offer. The bread was commercially sliced and not fresh. The fresh pineapple pieces had brown spots and the watermelon was not fresh at all - soggy skin. The orange juice bottle was empty and the coffee tasted like chicory. So far on our trip we have stayed in 5 hotels that are 4* and had great breakfasts. I would seriously rethink this hotel as 4 star.
