The way to the cabin, which was on the far side of the reception was snowed in, the front porch was iced and lacking the option to sit on. The room was clean and preheated. Furniture's need some update. Breakfast Buffet was nice and the staff was helpful. The hotel is located outside of town requiring driving to the nearest restaurant but also a great location to watch the Northern lights.
This is a great hotel with wonderful countryside views. It is located about 3 minutes outside of Egilsstadir, which is just enough to feel like a quiet countryside location without having to drive too far. There are two hottubs available for use outside, each with great views as well over the valley. The breakfast buffet in the morning was also excellent. The staff of this hotel are the nicest people and will do absolutely everything to make sure you enjoy your stay! They make you feel like you've been welcomed into their home
This was an older property, but was very clean. This also seemed the most low-key place with the most friendly and laid-back staff. The accommodations were clean and basic. We really needed to do our laundry; but, here the staff washed the clothes and the price was reasonable. The food was fine. I enjoyed the meal though there wasn't much variety. I recommend this place to stay. Not luxurious, but a nice place to rest your head. Provides a nice take-off point for seeing the surrounding sites and enjoying the Eastern side of the Iceland.
We stayed here for one evening and all (group of 3 couples) wished we could have stayed longer. The location is beautiful and close to the town area, but also out in the forest where you can get amazing natural views. We elected to stay in one of their private cottages and they were adorable. There was plenty of room, it had a small kitchenette, and was very private. The only downfall was that the water had a particularly strong smell, but it's due to the natural springs where its from. The smell does not stay on your skin at least. We utilized the hot tub in hopes that we would see the Northern Lights, but it was too cloudy for us. The breakfast had a lot to offer, and the coffee was perfect for a cool autumn morning. We would certainly stay here again and hope we get the opportunity to do so.…
We stayed here for 1 night. We liked: - separate bungalow with terrace - Good beds and shower - Good breakfast: you could make your own wafles - Able to use hot tub What I liked less, is the fact that with the trees surrounded by the bungalow, you don’t really have a nice view which is a pity. The main building is lacking some personality
