Perfect getaway for those looking to experience Iceland's "wild" side. Cottages are beautifully maintained but are in a remote area so make sure that you plan accordingly for food, car fuel, etc. We arrived at the cottages expecting to eat at the restaurant on property only to discover that they had closed early for the day unexpectedly. So moral of the story - pack a few basic snacks so that you can be self sufficient if you're put in the same situation. There is a small kitchen in the cottages where you could whip up a simple meal.

We stopped here on our way from Lake Myvatn to Jokulsarlon and I am so glad that we did. The cabin had mountains on both sides. The cabin is on a farm that has ducks, sheeps, horses, and a dog. We went for a walk on the property and saw the ducks and horses. About a 20 minute walk from our cabin was a waterfall. I wish that we had more time to spend here, with a kitchen, nice sitting area, and the beautiful landscape, I would have loved to spend a weekend just relaxing and exploring.

I booked and prepaid the room at that property from 23 to 24 Jully 2019. At 4pm we received an email from the property letting us know that the room was not anymore available and we had been relocated to a nearby hotel. It looks to me like a "bait and switches" practice. The place where we were relocated was good. However, we had to shorten some visits as the hotel reception was closing at 11pm

We stayed here overnight in June on our road trip around Iceland. We booked it online via Booking.com in the morning and communication was very good and helpful. It's on a farm with a few others cabins. We didn't meet the owner but the communication about which our cabin was and key location was excellent. If you are not able to be online on the journey there is printed information when you get there about your cabin and the key. Our cabin, Kari, was spacious with two bedrooms - one with two single beds and one with two bunk beds. The blackout blinds were very good and much appreciated in June when it is hardly ever dark. The main room was a good size with a nice L shaped sofa as well as a comfortable chair. The kitchenette had microwave, toaster; two hobs to cook on and a fridge with a freezer compartment. There was also a table and four chairs. There were good views from all sides of the cabin with plenty of windows. Every room had a heater so we were able to stay cosy which was good as it was cool and drizzly when we were there. There was a really nice veranda area at the front of the cabin which would have been so lovely to sit on if we'd had better weather. We met the farm dog, Tinni, in the morning. He was delightful! We were self-catering so didn't try the Barn Restaurant which is onsite. In the small information cabin there were a lot of DVDs to borrow. We appreciated that and borrowed one for the evening.

Stayed here with my wife and two adult sons for one night. Communication with the owner is fantastic and they are very attentive to their renters’ needs. Had a problem with the lock in the unit when we first arrived and they immediately arranged for us to move to another unit. Unit has two small bedrooms with a bunk bed in one and two twins in the other. All the beds are comfortable and the place is kept immaculately. Kitchenette lacks a true stovetop, but there is an electric two top that gets the job done if you want to make some eggs or do some light cooking. Bathroom is basic, but again very clean. Grounds and surroundings are absolutely stunning and you can begin a hike right out your front door. There is a TV located in the living room area, but we didn’t use it. Fifteen minutes to the town of Djúpivogur. The Barn Restaurant — right on site at Bragdavillir Cottages — has a limited but incredibly tasty menu. The crepes/pancakes are out of this world. The only negative was the poor WiFi service, but that is just a minor complaint that I am mentioning only because that was the one day when I really needed to get some work done remotely. Oh, and they have a dog named Tinni that is our of this world friendly and smart. Go out of your way to make sure you meet him.
