The price was good, location OK, staff friendly, flexibility in changing dates, reasonable clean, elevator, nice view from room. Still we wished we stayed somewhere else. Why? The room way too hot, already early in the morning you wanted to ran out. Duvet too thick for this time of the year. Hole in the mattress cover. Back pain in the morning. Outdated interior. Dinner really awful, honestly, I never sent back two dishes to the kitchen twice. What a waste of money. Sorry to say but the dinner chef really needs to find another type of job because he cannot cook. How can you ruin a simple fish and chips? What's so difficult about making a good pulled pork sandwich? Veggies with the trout? Mushy, tasteless, prepared without love, all tasted like it came straight from the freezer. The flies outside and the rotten egg smell from the water did not help with out holiday pleasure either, although we realize that's something the hotel cannot help.

We spent three nights here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast there is pretty basic but fine. The restaurant has great food. Portions were very large for us. You get free unlimited coffee and tea afterwards. You don't have an alternative eatery nearby. The room is clean with views over the village and the surrounding area. You can drink cold water from the tap, but if you grab hot water, a sulphur smell is released that lingers in your room for quite a long time.

we stayed here as part of the group hotel for 1 night, room is basic. Breakfast is just so so and could fill you up with not many selection. Dinner is great but expensive. nothing is around, so you have to eat at their restaurant.

Our twin room was very big, spacious and was clean. The heated towel rack was appreciated. The staff were really friendly. The restaurant showcased local specialties such as the bread cooked in geothermal ovens, smoked trout and skyr cake. There is a pool table as well.

Family-run, friendly hotel with better than average food options. We stayed one night as part of a group booking. OK, the accommodation is basic. Our mattress was a little soft and the soundproofing is practically non-existent. Atmospheric 'classic' furniture. No amenities except a kettle- no tissues and the shower mixer valve wasn't working. Yikes! However, dinner and breakfast were excellent. Pan-fried trout and geyser bread with smoked trout - superb. The dinner buffet looked great too. The breakfast buffet had several options not found in other 3-stars like fresh fruit salad, wild berry compote, baked beans, etc. Pseudo-crater reserve is just opposite the hotel. Good for birders too. Recommended.
