Don't confuse this hotel with the similarly named hotel 200 yards down the road. Efficient, fast and pleasant check-in, but no lift to second floor. Large, clean room with crisp sheets and bedding and room has a view of lake. Whole hotel has been refurbished very well and is bright and very well-kept. Excellent breakfast.

Room was average sized with a bath that is dated. Staff is friendly and helpful carrying luggage upstairs--no lift. Breakfast buffet had many options. We were in Iceland to experience the uniqueness of the landscape, so if the hotel is just average, the scenery gets a high rating.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was large Furnishings were a little dated . Best black-out curtains in Iceland. Room was quite warm but desk clerk got us a fan and it really helped. Shower was a little weird. The whole bathroom floor flooded when you used it. They did have a mop in the bathroom to use after... More

Great location, friendly staff . In need of a touch of investment. Stair carpet worn. No TV in room (not a major issue) Great scenery & no problems with insects ! No restaurant anymore, breakfast better than average. Very expensive even by Icelandic standards.

Great breakfast and nice staff, with a delicious pub across the parking lot. For the price and four-star rating however, they don't provide basic amenities such as shampoo and conditioner. Bring your own! Overall a nice stay in a very cool area in Iceland.

We spent two nights here- we arrived after a very long drive round the Eastern Fiords all the way from Hofn... so we were happy to have 2 nights. The hotel is simple but well managed and maintained... on the edge of a farm.. the hotel is owned by the local farming family and it was great fund to watch... More

The young guy at the reception with viking-like moustache was very friendly. Got a cosy room with sitting corner and ensuite bathroom. Very clean and quiet. Coffee/tea/cacao facilities. Free wi fi. Restaurant served delicious food. Splendid location for there we have made the most amazing hikes. Best place also to enjoy an endless sunny day or if you're lucky even... More

If you like retro style, this is your hotel. Was not build as retro style hotel, it is actually very old hotel. I believe that even the kettle is from the seventies. There was as well a strange box attached to the wall, probably a radio from the same period..toilet as well is old style. The problem anyway was coming... More

Able to enjoy the beautiful view of the lake while having meal at the hotel's restaurant as the hotel is pretty close to the lake. Staff were helpful and amicable. Dinner and breakfast at the hotel were scrumptious. Room was neat and quite spacious. Any shortcomings? Well, yes. There's no elevator and so my hubby and I had to move... More

Older hotel in Myvatn but in a great location and very well kept. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There isn't an elevator in the building so you need to carry your things up to your room. Breakfast was very good as well.
