Nice cozy cottages with cooking facilities. The shower and toilet area is a bit small. Lucky there's only 2 of us in each cottage. Thus for family with children I suggest getting a bigger cottage or room. They do have rooms at the main building. The highlight of our stay is the friendly resident dogs and lady aurora chose to...

This was one of the more expensive stays during our trip, but the cottage was spacious, included a kitchen and was away from town making it a great spot for catching the northern lights and it's super close to all the attractions Lake Myvatan has to offer. There's a great pizza place only up the road which worked out great...

This was one of the more expensive guesthouses we stayed in on our trip around route 1. However, it was very well equipped, clean, comfortable and a good size - especially for just the 2 of us. We didn't have a meal /breakfast at the guesthouse as we left early but it catering facilities looked good. The kitchenette in the...

5 min drive from the town and gas station where you can buy your groceries and cook in your cottage. It comes with a functional kitchen. The location is superd in sighting northern light. Don’t have to travel to outskirt, it's right in front of your balcony. Breakfast is hearty. Two super friendly dogs.

Most impressed with the service of the staffs here; helpful and informative. The cottage was well-insulated while we were here in the middle of bad weather; fresh snow covered everything in the morning and we were in fact feeling rather warm in the night. Small kitchen with a little dining area was cosy. There is room for improvement for the...

Fabulous location. Good comfortable cottages with a kitchenette. The restaurant at the guesthouse offers an amazing view of Lake Myvatn. Supermarket, cafes, are in the vicinity. Would definitely recommend this place for someone on a road trip + a great chance to see the northern lights at the right time (which we did) If you stay here, do walk on...

After checking out of our room, we drove to the nearby lava formations joking about how we haven't forgotten or lost anything on our trip yet. When we got out of our car we see a truck we recognized from the guesthouse racing up to meet us. Turns out we left a notebook in our room and the woman from...

We are travelling as a young couple around the ring road of Iceland and Dimmuborgir Guesthouse was our 5th stop off, and our most expensive. Having spent 5 nights hoping for a sighting of the Northern Lights, we finally saw them here! Granted, the forecast was good, but the way our room was set up with a view over the...

.. and good enough rooms, though a bit pricy. I read before this place has best breakfasts in the region and I can agree with that - home smoked fish and sausage made the deal. Between two blocks of twin/double rooms is cosy but roomy kitchen/dining area and separate relaxing room. If you choose a cottage, check If its new...
