Nice hotel with spacious rooms however the service let’s one down. No tea or coffee facilities in room, no mini bar, amenities are replaced every second or third day and you find yourself constantly asking for the odd shower cap! When asking for a tea bag at the bar to take to room for the night, staff advice there will be a charge. Breakfast is good but coffee not great. With a 11 day stay at this hotel, one would think a little more effort could have been made. Smiles by staff were also lacking.
The hotel was pretty nice.it was very CLEAN ,very quiet and relaxing. The room was spacious and they had also great facilities for disable people. Just a small detail in our wonderdul staying : The spa was unavailiable .I asked the reception desk if it was necesary to book in advance an appointment for Saturday and suprisingly i was told it wasn't as there is availiability Next day it ended up not having an appointment and not being able to use the spa.
A spacious hotel with comfortable rooms. Service in the hotel was fine. It has a nice SPA. Although it has wifi in the hotel, it was impossible to connect in the rooms, one had to come to the lobby to get connected. For which one could not get any clear answer from the reception. Spread for breakfast was good.
A five star hotel in Kastoria. A unique experience in style and luxury. Excellent service and hospitality from the experienced staff. Highly recommended for a relaxed stay in the beautiful region of Kastoria
I was not impressed with the city of Kasteria but I was most disappointed by this hotel. Okay, we visited during the off season but it would have made more sense to close the place if it wasn’t busy (which it wasn’t, since we saw maybe 4 other people during our stay). This “Palace” is not close to the old city so you need to drive or take a long walk to get to the lakeside area. I guess that is the attraction there since I didn’t see anything else except a ton of fur stores. Driving up to the hotel shows an impressive marble entrance. There is a ramp to the side, that I only found when I left the next day. The lobby is large and pretty modern. The receptionist was polite and mild mannered. We couldn’t get much information from him about restaurants for dinner but he didn’t seem too enthusiastic about any. Thinking there was a big lake, we hoped there would be a fish restaurant but the only one he mentioned was outside of Kasteria and we didn’t want to drive anywhere. We went to our room, which looked impressive, modern and clean enough. Toiletries were basic and there was a large marble bathroom with shower. There was a TV, safe and desk to do a little business. When we returned from dinner, we found the room was hot. After trying unsuccessfully to start the A/C, my husband called the desk. Seems there was no A/C, only heat, and they told us to open a window. We were on the ground floor and didn’t love that idea but the windows opened at the top and we were too tired to complain. The bed was a bit hard, as were the pillows. Didn’t sleep much. The next morning I tried to take a shower. Again there was a fancy shower head but I couldn’t figure out how to use it (I think there was a broken button) and ended up using the hand sprayer, which caused a flood on the floor. I tried to use the hair dryer but it kept cutting off after a second, so I gave that up. So now it was time for breakfast - huge dining room and there were only 6 of us. There were enough things offered but only a little of each. Along with other things, I took a piece of feta cheese and it tasted like soap - I still taste it 2 hours later. The bread was fresh enough but that was about it. Even the filter coffee was like water. This whole experience was disappointing. Don’t know how there were so many glowing reviews except that this hotel functions differently during peak seasons. I wouldn’t go there any time of the year and frankly, sorry Kasteria, but I might just avoid this city completely. …
