First Covid trip and what a disappointing place. I waited 48 hours for a response to the list of needed repairs and my survey of our stay in Kingfisher 1. Crickets. This is the first review I have ever written and the first vacation where I had to leave any property early. Let's start with this place was awful and the description of "estate" and "romantic" cottages would be entirely false. Dirty, overpowering deodorizer smell to compensate, furniture belonging in the landfill, lights broken, doors not easily opened and closed, and a cockroach on the bathroom floor. Please book at your own risk. And you all leaving positive reviews: you must love an expensive fishing shack . Because for $170 per night, that is exactly what we got.
My wife and I stayed in the Hummingbird Suite. Overall it was okay, but there were little discrepancies such as dirty dishes in the cabinets, VERY UNCOMFORTABLE furniture in the living room, and 3 out of 4 patio chairs were ripped beyond repair. I thought the hard mattress on the bed was EXCELLENT, although my wife thought it was uncomfortable. I slept like a baby on it! The grounds are nice with a great path to the top of the mountain where there is a pond for fishing, picnicking, meditating, etc. Very nice. We really enjoyed that. Contactless check in/check out; we never saw anybody the whole week we were there. Personally, I would rather have a live attendant I could call on if ever need be.
Roadrunner Cabin at Pond Mountain We have spent many weekends at this resort over the past 15 years. We have stayed in the Hummingbird and Sandpiper rooms. This is the first and last time we will stay in this cabin. First the positives, the air conditioning worked, the toilet, shower, spa tub, counters, stove, and inside the refrigerator were clean. The water pressure was really good and we had plenty of hot water. The jets on the spa tub didn't work but the management company sent someone over and they fixed them the same day. All of the ceiling fans did a great job moving the air and they were quiet. The pool and pool area have always been clean and a great place to relax. The concerns are numerous and far outweigh the positives. The whole cabin smelled musty and a little bit sour. The smell was mostly in the queen bedroom but it leaked out if you opened the door. The air conditioner pumped out smelly air. The light to change the filter was on and when we contacted the management company, they said they would check it after our visit. They had 2 cheap air fresheners in the room but it didn't help. The bedding in this room had several holes. The couch had suspicion stains and the recliner had what looked like potato chip crumbs from previous guests. The furniture had a strange smell. The air fresheners didn't help in this room. We wiped down the contact points like the door handles and table tops and our wipes were black. It is hard to accept that they had recently been cleaned. As reported earlier, we had to constantly sweep the floor of dead bugs and get rid of bugs that would crawl, fly, or creep in through the cracks around the door. The back door didn't lock properly and you could push it open even if the lock was turned. In the king bedroom, one window had blinds that didn't have the handle you turn to close the blinds. It was very awkward to reach the blinds to close and if you are short you would have to stand on the bed or nightstand to close them. The shower is about the size of an old telephone booth. You can barely turn around in the shower and forget about getting dry and re-dressing. I was looking forward to spending time on the deck I saw in the photos. Unfortunately there were 3 old wasp nests on the deck floor and 2 new nests being being built on the ceiling. The cabin is dark. The interior fixtures were either missing bulbs or had low wattage. I was disappointed with my stay in this cabin.…
Road runner cabin. The couch was broken down and covered in urine. Smelled up whole cabin. The shower was rv shower stuffed into closet. We had to ask them to replace shower head. Hardly any water would come out it was so filthy. The cabin was not clean. Full of live and dead bugs. The whole cabin had a bad smell. The dishes and furniture looked like they stopped at a garage sale. Mismatched and broken down. Not worth the money for sure. There is no light at the driveway. You have to fumble to try to find the key in the dark. Do not waste your money.
I stop by Pond Mountain a couple times every year. I'll drive out of my way to put it on a trip. Judy runs the place in a familial way. Steve runs the grounds and buildings. The pool is large and generous. The rooms are lavishly and cleverly decorated. I like the peace and quiet, and of course there is always plenty to see and do in Eureka Springs. I've had many talks with Judy and Steve over the years in the Great Hall, and even joined them for beer:30 a couple of times! I recommend Pond Mountain as a great place to stay. Once you try it out, you'll be sure to return every time you are near.
The pictures of the Sandpiper suite is VASTLY different than the room actually looks. Its very very good photography to make what is an old, basement type room look like a very cool place to take your wife. But it was the smell that was overwhelming ... kids peed in the floor combined with mold from the window air conditioner smell. Bad. We tried to handle it, but I ended up saying hey, its bad, I'll leave you our deposit but we can't stay here. The owner charged me a full night and refunded me the other night. I didn't visit any other rooms and cannot comment really on anything other than the Sandpiper and the huge disappointment it was.
Amazing place, cozy, immaculate, hospitable, beautiful large ponds which include fishing, peaceful surrounding land, only 10 minutes from the town of eureka springs. Judy and Steve hospitality warm and welcoming. It was our first time here, and we plan to come back next year.
We stayed in the main home in the two huge suites. Each has bedroom and separate living room with TV, sofa, microwave, coffee pot and mini fridge. No TV in bedroom. So much character in this huge old home! The property is over 100 acres so plenty of wooded privacy. Just a mile or two outside of town. I will return to Pond Mountain in summer to hang out at the swimming pool!
Hey Judy, Back to the grind of life here, but I wanted to send you a message and let you know how much we appreciate all you did for us on our special day. We enjoyed our 4 days, so quiet and peaceful! So beautiful there. Thank you so much for letting us have our wedding there. Everything was perfect. The ceremony and Selena was wonderful, the cake was so pretty and so good! Thank you! We definitely will be back! David said he wished he could live there! LOL. I would most definitely recommend anyone have their wedding there with you. Most certainly a vacation as well. Would be a great place for a big family reunion definitely plenry of room! Everyone wpuld have a blast in the cabins and enjoy the land, scenery, ponds and horses.
My wife and I stayed at Pond Mountain for an air cooled VW show in Eureka Springs. We love Eureka Springs and wanted something more than just a hotel. Pond Mountain was magnificent. The proprietor was very gracious and does a phenomenal job keeping a gorgeous property alive and home like. The main house is historic as well as impeccably relaxing. The grounds keeper is very kind and sociable. The property is absolutely beautiful. Huge trees, well manicured and maintained. The ponds in the back of the property are fantastic for fishing or just for a quiet, relaxing stroll. As many times as my wife and I have been to Eureka Springs we can't believe we hadn't found this gem. Just up the road from Quigley's Castle and 2 miles from town it's perfect. You feel welcomed, at home and though right at the edge of town, you still find yourself thinking you're far out in the country. The cabins are very inviting and will demand our next stay. Close to the ponds and isolated to themselves. Jacuzzi tubs, satellite TV, and many of the amenities of home. Quiet and comfortable as it gets. We hated to have to go home. We felt very welcome and anything we needed was graciously provided. Steve, the grounds keeper, was helpful when I had an issue unloading my convertible off the trailer. Fishing gear is provided. The pool is clean and well kept. Billiard tables were a nice additional way to be entertained between rides into town. Eureka Springs is a wonderful town amongst the cliffs and running waters of Arkansas. While there, one MUST stay at Pond Mountain Lodge and Resorts. My wife and I will never stay anywhere else when returning to Eureka Springs. We would like to also say thank you for the fantastic stay. It was as welcoming as home and enriching. We are already planning our return trip. R. & M. Best…
