This location is a little difficult to find. It is up a steep hill and the parking was very tight. I was a little disappointed in our stay due to a carpenter using a noisy drill outside on our porch for the first two hours of our arrival. The owner had told my husband just to

Spent two nights with a friend and was very pleased with the accommodations and can’t sing the owners praises enough. They definitely have put Cliff Cottages on a level all by itself. We arrived early and sat on the porch to wait for our room. Within minutes the host brought out

wha can't you accommodate children
Cliff Cottage Inn is an historic inn built in the 1880s and is filled with priceless antique furnishings many of which have come down from the innkeeper's great grandmother and other pieces collected from all around the world. There are many family antique collectibles also, decorating the suites and cottages. There are 2 reasons we no longer take children: first, we did in the beginning but so many of these irreplaceable treasures were broken, tables scratched, silk brocade loveseats stained etc. (the parents all said it was a child's accident.) It would be impossibe for staff to remove all these things to be able to accommodate children. Second, when we did accept them, many times the guests in the adjoining suites would check out early and rightfully demand and receive a refund because they had to listen all night to a crying child or other such noise coming from a child -- we can't have our other guests' holidays spoiled because of an unruly child. There are other lodging establishments that would best suit a family with children...ours is an adults-only inn and has been so for the past 23 years.
