The Wanderoo Lodge is steeped in the spirit of adventure! Under new ownership (as of 8/25/17) and welcoming guests interested in experiencing the best that Eureka Springs and the Ozarks have to offer! Our rooms and cabins offer a centrally-located hub for all Eureka Springs activities. Historic downtown is walkable, as are nearby trails and Black Bass Lake. The seasonal pool is the largest in town, and the only salt water pool in Eureka Springs. The bar and restaurant (open early 2018) will serve at a central gathering spot for Eureka locals and guests from all over! With the Ozark Zipline next door, a trolley stop on-site, and kayak rentals (coming April 2018), you'll love the new experience at the Wanderoo Lodge!

I noticed a few negative reviews so I was a bit concerned with booking this motel. However, it is good for the traveler to be aware that The Wanderoo Lodge is under new ownership and much improved! We booked a King Wanderoo room and the bed was very comfortable, the room was completely updated, super cute and clean with artistic touches. Keep in mind, this is a historic spot and the motel rooms were built in the 50's so enjoy the retro aspects. The bar and restaurant are so awesome. Live music both nights we were there and we also enjoyed sitting by the fire outside chatting with other guests. There is a real community feel to this place. Additionally, the staff are very friendly. I spoke with a staff member who told me how happy she is to be working there and how wonderful the new owners are. There is a new chef and they are looking forward to adding items to their menu. It is also an easy walk down to historic Eureka springs from this location. The walk back is straight up the hill but it's Eureka Springs so enjoy the views and the cute little houses on your climb!

It really depends on your priorities. It's a 15-20 minute walk to city center, which is better than some and worse than others. Positive: One of the few hotels with a swimming pool; great live music and food; good price; near grocery store Negative: Paper-thin walls (loud neighbors = bad sleep); old rooms (bathroom door wouldn't close, shower nozzle super low); slow wifi; breakfast not included

I did not stay at the Lodge, but I would have had I known, I was across the street. The Gravel Bar at the lodge was by far my favourite place in all of Eureka Springs. They have live music. Monday nights is SprungBilly, the best Bluegrass band I’ve ever heard. They mix in a rock and roll songs like American Girl with a bluegrass twist. Fantastic. If you’re lucky enough to be around when Alyssa plays you’re in for a treat. A 16 year old who’s amazing. David and his husband Ethan own the place and are the nicest guys ever. They done a spectacular job renovating the lodge and bar. Good food, drinks and service. I can’t recommend this place enough. If I could only take the place home with me I’d be there all the time. Do yourself a favour and go there. Nothing downtown holds a candle to The Gravel Bar at Wanderoo Lodge.

We were looking for a getaway spot to have a BREAK from a kitchen re-do. The Wanderoo Lodge was the best choice ever !!! It was "mustang" weekend, complete with parade and mustangs to see everywhere we went. An older, beetnik crowd was in the majority of other Lodge guests. There is live music on the patio, open fire pit to gather around and chat/people watch, a wonderful bar with daily specials. Gay friendly and there was a pride parade this weekend. Bedrooms are in the midst of re-model, and very spacious and include a patio area to sip coffee, and relax. Starting this weekend, the lodge offers rental of kayaks, and standup paddle boards. There is trolley spot very close that takes you anywhere in Eureka Springs for $6/day. Breakfast eatery, Myrtle Mae's, is across the street. Rodd was a great go-to person, night manager, etc.

You would need to be camping in a tent to find less expensive accommodations in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. This is a midcentury era motel with a pool and a personality all it's own. The rooms are not perfect but they are just fine. Our room was clean, pleasant and came with a minifridge with a small freezer, microwave and a large flat screen tv. The furnishings are a blend of vintage midcentury, steam punk and modern. The bathroom in our room appears to be original. It looks a bit tired but is clean and charming. The restaurant, The Gravel Bar, is completely updated. It has live music, a full bar and a small but interesting menu for lunch and dinner. There are also 3 small cabins for rent. I forgot to mention the best part! Our single queen room goes for $49/night!! For those who like kitsch and a little imperfection this is a place to check out!

My daughter and I had so much fun staying at the Wanderoo Lodge with her puppy. We stayed there over a weekend and enjoyed the live music. We sat outside by the fire pit instead of going into the bar or restaurant since we had already eaten for the evening. You do hear the music across the entire property if they have a band when you are there but that was part of what we loved. The staff members were helpful in providing information about getting around town. They had an online brochure we could download that gave great details about all the town had to offer. We had lunch at the lodge...an amazing turkey sandwich. The rooms were exceptionally clean. The bed was comfortable. We could walk to a wonderful restaurant across the street each morning for breakfast. The staff members and owners were wonderful. The service was great when we ate there. It's an older lodge that has been refurbished. I liked the charm of it being older. I loved being able to bring our dog. I enjoyed chatting with people around the fire and on the porch. I also liked how comfortable we were made to feel there. I would definitely return.

Giving rating based on room only! Room was NOT what was pictured on web site, I wouldn’t have booked had I known. ☹️ Turned AC on and it had a mildew smell, had to get candle to drown out the smell. The volume on tv didn’t work, really not a big deal to me, but to husband yes!! Out side of bathroom door was peeling and front door easily could be kicked in. Stains in carpet and ceiling. Staying another night in town going to have to find something different. UPSIDE: Water was nice and hot, good pressure. I loved the bar area and the music and atmosphere. Everyone was nice from the moment we checked in. Just needs some major updates. IF I had a room like in the pictures I would absolutely stay again, Would have loved to had a better room for my celebration. 💔 wouldn’t stay again.. I’d visit the bar/restaurant part.

Definitely not a nice motel at all. First off be careful if you are booking a ground floor room. We did and we had to go down stairs to the back side of the motel. When inquiring on it at check in, if we wanted a 'true' ground floor room it would be $20 extra. I don't understand a ground floor room having a flight of stairs? Check otherwise went smooth and desk clerk Skyelar was very nice and helpful. The room is very outdated and musty smelling. We were there end of December and the heat would not work. No one works 24/7. we sent an email asking for maintenance and they informed us the next morning that they switched software and that was an inaccurate email. So we slept in our clothes, with other clothes on top of us to keep warm. Their answer the next day was.."it was warm when we walked in the warm" Well it was 11am by then and we had showered and blew dry our hair. Both the bathroom sink and bathtub would not drain properly. They said they pulled a bottle cap out of bathtub which caused the drainage issue. They never responded to the issue of the sink. So much cosmetic work needs done to the rooms. Flooring not completed in the bathroom. Old rusty Kleenex holder on the wall. Holes where the shower curtain rod had been moved(takes a quick second to caulk the holes and remove the old kleenex holder). No plug-ins in the bathrooms. Blew dry hair over the table in the motel room. The maintenance room door was busted and holes in it. You have to walk by it to go up the stairs. Cob webs in corner of bathroom,. We killed a couple of spiders. One bed sloped towards the head. We could not wait to get out of there!. We have been in the hotel/hospitality business and this room needed so much work! And much of it would take a few minutes and very little money. Cleaning a room is a no brainer. The bar and restaurant were very nice! The atmosphere with the outside fire pit and set back in the trees seemed so nice..until we got to our room. We wont ever stay there again.

I've read over some of these other reviews, and I'm wondering if we stayed at the same place??? This is not a Five Star Hotel. This is the Wanderoo Lodge. It's transitioning gradually. The owners are constantly working to upgrade all of the rooms. Old or updated, they're always clean. Our rooms have always been spotless. This is why we always make a point to tip housekeeping. They do a really good job. They work hard at it. We've stayed here twice now this year, for two long weekends, one of which was Thanksgiving weekend. It was phenomenal! Every single person who works there went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and at home. We love the Gravel Bar. The drinks flow freely and we love the food menu. Nothing heavy or too fancy, but always worth the money spent. This is pretty much a hip place and if you're not at least young at heart, you probably won't like it. There is always music playing, either over the speakers in the bar or LIVE music. And yes the live music is always loud, we rarely heard it from our room. If you're looking for a no frills, really clean, good value for your money, you'd love this place. Look at the clientel. They range from young adults to more mature folks like us, but they're all smiling and having a good time. And, there is no us or them attitude here. Everyone is welcomed. Yes, there are kids running around, and they're smiling too. If, and it's a big IF, I had any complaint, it would be parking. If you're staying at the lodge, you'd best be parked before evening. A good number of locals come for the live music and they park where ever they can find a spot. But doesn't it put a smile on your face to see a relatively new Small Business doing so well? Bottom line, we love this place and you will too, if you go in with the right expectations. Stuffy folks expecting a 5 star experience will not like this place. These are really good, down to earth folks and the Wandroo Lodge is a great place to simply be......

I stay at the hotel every Thursday during the Volkswagen show. Comfortable bed, budget friendly. Live outdoor music at the hotel bar tonight. The group tonight sounded wonderful. This is the fourth time I have stayed here. Pet friendly. Nice owners.
