We cycled from Cherbourg to La Lande along beautiful quiet green lanes for a long weekend. The property is down a quiet lane in tranquil countryside, but only 10 mins by bike to Bricquebec. Val & Paul are lovely welcoming hosts. We stayed in the Admiral Room, which is actually a large family suite, spacious, beautifully decorated with a sofa and TV, huge gorgeous bathroom, kettle, fridge and the all important corkscrew! We also had our own small patio with table and chairs overlooking the amazing garden. Breakfast was possibly one of the best we have ever had in a B&B. So much food and a delicious fruit salad everyday. Oh, and the coffee was excellent. We used La Lande as a base from which to cycle around the area (we had no car). Carteret was beautiful and well worth a visit. There was a festival lasting the whole weekend in Bricquebec, and the atmosphere in the little medieval town was buzzing. We could not have picked a better place to stay.…
The hosts, Val and Paul, made our stay here a delight. They were very welcoming and full of useful information, including restaurant recommendations, operating hours, etc. The room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfasts were generous and delicious, really loved the fresh fruit salads. The grounds and landscaping are spectacular.
A group of 10 of us stayed at La Lande for a week and we had a wonderful stay, the house was spacious and comfortable with great gardens. It was peaceful and quiet but with a supermarket and town 5 mins drive away. Val and Paul are lovely people and were very helpful with information on local restaurants and local travel advice. We all had a fantastic time and would definitely book La Lande again.
We spent a week at La Lande in 'Kestrel' recently. My family and I had a wonderful week in this idyllic location, visiting the long sandy beaches and taking in the rustic charm of Normandy. Paul and Val were the best hosts one could hope for and by the end of the holiday they almost felt like family, even getting up in the early hours of the morning to see us off. The accommodation is beautifully kept and within easy reach of all the sights of Normandy including the D-day landing beaches and countless pretty villages. Our kids had endless fun playing in the spacious gardens and playing table tennis in the barn and can't wait to go back again next year. Thoroughly recommended!
Great place and wonderful hosts. Idillic location with charming installations. Breakfast is very good and you can use your own kitchen to cook meals. Wifi works better outside as the walls of the building are quite tick
