We warmly welcome you to Chateau de Nazelles, an authentic and intimate sixteenth-century manor surrounded by extensive and tranquil grounds. Snuggled on a hillside across the River Loire from Amboise (1.6 miles) and nearby Château de Chenonceau (10 miles), Chateau de Nazelles is ideally situated to visit all the castles of the Loire Valley. Dating back to 1518, residence of the Lords of Nazelles, the chateau, a listed historical monument, was also a wine estate for many centuries.

We are a family of 5 including 3 teenagers and had the most lovely 4 nights at Chateau de Nazelles. Veronique couldn’t have been more helpful and our accommodation was perfect. Highly recommend, particularly the canoeing and Segway activities!

This was a quiet and enchanting place, well situated for exploring the Loire Valley. We were in a detached unit with a lovely courtyard. The grounds are fantastic, and there's a beautiful pool, though it was too chilly for us to enjoy in September. Breakfasts were amazing, and Veronique is a wonderful host! We had a great 10 days in France, and our stay here was a highlight. Highly recommended!

We stayed in a ground-level room and unfortunately did not find our room fairy tale-like at all. Our room was nice and large, including a big bathroom, but the bathroom was an open area - no door to the toilet or the shower, which was very awkward as our daughter was travelling with my husband and I. As well, we had booked a room on the first floor (4 months ahead of time), and were told 2 weeks before we left home for our holiday that there was a mix-up and we had been reassigned to the ground-level room. Instead of a panoramic view of the valley, we had a view of the road, literally 2 feet from the window. The room was hot and stuffy, no air conditioning or fan, and a LOT of bugs and spiders because we had to keep the windows open day and night to try to reduce the heat so we could sleep. There was a dank smell in this room (probably from the 400 year old sink?) which would be an issue for anyone with breathing problems. Breakfast was nice, especially the cheeses. Overall, we felt our room and the experience we had was a disappointment and over-priced. Next time, we would stay in Amboise so we could walk to the sights in town - trying to find parking in town was a challenge.

We stayed at the Chateau de Nazelles in late September to October 2019, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We had 2 of the troglodyte rooms, (actually in ancient caves) and what a special treat! The owner, Veronique, was such a pleasure and very helpful! If we asked for anything, she made sure we were taken care of! The breakfasts were also so special each morning! Such a unique, wonderful stay! We will return, when we are back in this region!

We recently spent 4 nights at Chateau de Nazelles Amboise and we will always cherish the many good memories of our stay. I don’t know where to begin, our time at the chateau and in the Loire Valley was truly like something from a fairy tale. We had La Tour, a bedroom upstairs in the chateau. We loved the gorgeous view of the valley from our window. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was very large with both a shower and tub. Our room was always clean and made up perfectly each day. Veronique is the perfect host. Capable, friendly and so helpful with tips for restaurants and chateaux. Our breakfast each morning was a delight. Everything is freshly made and many things were homemade and/or local. The grounds are gorgeous! I loved the little hidden gardens scattered about. It’s obvious that the owners have put a lot of love and care into everything. I cannot thank Veronique enough for a wonderful stay!
