We already come here for many years now and the campsite itself is at a very beautiful location alongside the river Dordogne and with a castle on the campsite itself. The campspaces are big, green and with enough shade.

But sadly that are nowadays the only good things about the campsite. The toilet buildings are very dirty. The special group "Estivant" causes a lot of noise during the nights. Compared to other campsites in France, cars are allowed to drive on to the campsite during the night which causes a lot of noise too.

Then about the restaurant, well if you can call it a restaurant nowadays. The location is perfect, in the castle with an overview of the river. But food wise it's better to stay away from this place. They change menus 15 minutes before the restaurant opens so if you are drinking a nice glass of beer or wine at the castle and are thinking of ordering a nice Burger, ask again when the restaurant open as it might surprise you that they suddenly don't want to prepare burgers. Also if you order a pizza be prepared for black burned pizzas. Yes they don't mind serving it even when it's burned.
Also check the amount of money they charge you afterwards as math isn't their biggest strength either.
In the past you could also take away food every evening but nowadays most of the evenings they just say they don't do takeaway.

This week the dutch company ANWB came to the campsite to do an inspection and see if the campsite was still worth the 4 stars they currently have but I think they are going to lose some. The benefit of this is that the toilet buildings are now being cleaned properly for the first time in 10 days.

I really hope that the actual owners stop the rental agreement with Sea Green asap. Since Sea Green took over the management of the campsite every year the experience has gotten worse and less and less people come to the campsite and they can't blame it on Corona.

Let's hope it can be turned around because the campsite itself is at a beautiful location and could bring joy to a lot of people with the right management!

After many years of joy at this campsite and despite the usual problems(dirty toilets etc) you find at many campsites this year Seagreen, who exploit, the campground since a couple years have just ruined it for us.

As said we have been coming here for many years and since Seagreen took over it has become less attractive to go here but now they gave me a surprise after paying for my booking. When I called Seagreen after my booking to indicate my preferred pitch(you can't do that through the booking form)and you pay 40 Euro's for it, they let me wait for 45 minutes and hang up the phone 2 times so I had to back only to hear from a very disrespectfull lady that my dog could not come because he is over 20kg. My dog has been there fore many years and the booking form and terms and agreements on their site say nothing about this rule. Only after you paid for your booking and get a confirmation they have put (-20kg) in the confirmation. And besides that I now have to do a request for a refund of the money I paid because that arrogant lady on the phone did not want to arrange that for me.

So after many years I will sadly no longer be going to this Campsite and I advice others to also not to go hear untill Seagreen is no longer exploiting it anymore.

Booked a 16 night stay in September, stunning unspoilt location right on the river bank, about 3 kilometers out of Argentat. Nicely presented and comfortable cottage style van. After six days the site team tried to move us to another site as they were expecting a large influx of university students for a freshers style week end party, although there had been no mention at check in. We declined to move as we were well settled. It was anything but peaceful over the week end, with a rock band and dance music through the night. However the students were very friendly and polite. All tranquility returned at lunch time on Sunday when we waved them off. A larger party of medical students arrive for our last weekend for a repeat performance!

Visited in July with our 4 and 6 year old children, staying in a cabin and had a wonderful stay.

Plenty to do for the children, whilst being close to towns and their amenities.

A relaxed and family friendly camp site in a stunning location.

One thing they could improve on is communicating infomation from accomodation amenities and activities.

A welcome pack on arrival would solve this.

Would recommend staying here.

What I didn't like: Nothing

What I liked: Pretty much everything. We stayed in a Riviera caravan for a week and got a really good feel of the place. The setting is quiet and in the forest yet there were few insects and Argentat was only a short drive away. In Argentat there are 3 large supermarkets and a few smaller artisan shops. We mostly cooked in the caravan so the shop were important.

The site has plenty of table tennis tables, a tennis court and a heated, outdoor swimming pool. We were there at the end of August and the place was not that busy so I can't say how busy the facilities are at peak occupancy. When we stay for the last week of August, there was never an issue using any facility. The canoes, kayaks and paddle boards are a good deal. As a family, you pay €50 for the week which give each family member unlimited use of all the water items.

The camping is under new management and the staff were excellent. A young and dedicated team that did everything they could to make our stay fun and enjoyable.

The was one of the best camping sites I have ever stayed in and I would go again in a heartbeat.

The upside is the location with lots of shade, particularly when hot! We turned up on spec and even in August found lots of space. No camp site should allow dogs, particularly in France. We witnessed French dog owners walking their dogs away from their own pitches, happily watching their dogs Crap near other people’s tents. Near children’s play areas. Disgusting, but very acceptable to French people! The toilet and shower blocks were not adequate or serviced enough. People left them in a terrible state most of the time. Mind you, this has more to say about the clients than the site. On Saturday night they have a rock and roll disco type thing which pumps out noisy awful music until midnight. The closer you are to the Chateau, the worse it it, but even in the furthest corner, you can’t escape it.

First of all, we would like to point out that your reservation was made via a partner and not directly with our campsite. You are therefore subject to the general terms and conditions of sale of the partner site. When you made your reservation, you took a non-refundable stay. Despite this, we still wanted to make a gesture to you by offering you to change your dates in order to come at another time, which you accepted. And now you want to cancel this new date again by asking for a refund. This refund is not possible, your booking is still a non-refundable one. We are sorry, but we respect the general conditions of sale. However, we do not understand this relentless pursuit on the review platforms under different email addresses which will lead to nothing. The Campsite Manager

Would have given a higher score if the chateau hadn’t ruined part of our holiday and cost us a fortune, as we had to stay a night in a hotel, buy new blow up beds and sleeping bags. Very worried that their incompetence in food hygiene could kill a vulnerable person

This is a really beautiful place. It is owned and operated by Sea Green which has 6 other campsite that it boasts as exquisite. The restaurant is basically a fly infested over priced burger bar. The service is terrible. Our waiter was either stoned or very forgetful but definitely rude abd had no interest in serving food. There was a lot of hangers on, friends of staff having free run of the site. I noticed that staff were giving food and drink to their dreadlocked friends of whom were obviously not paying guests. One guy with home made a tattoos on his face became threatening and abusive towards us and had no respect for people enjoying their holidays He was part of a party of people parrying at the expense of clients and was actually the camping maintenance guy. Nothing in the supermarket, staff would turn away customers at 22:30hrs saying that they were closing the bar and forcing people back o their caravans. Its was most certainly the worst camping that i have visited in France in the 25 years that i have spent touring. The whole place was dirty and the sevice was totally disfunctional Sea Green Camping you should hang your head in shame. But dont believe me, check out the photos.

very nice setting but lack of seriousness in the staff and communication
There were almost no activities, no one knew if it was maintained and at what time or to cancel....
very cold swimming pool therefore not heated…and it needs a good renovation…
The mobile home was well equipped and clean but the laundries left something to be desired in terms of cleanliness.
