Villa Maija is located perfectly in between buzzling Eastern Harbor and Hanko Casino. The building is 130 years old and well restored. There less than 10 rooms and our room M6 was a nice one located in the upper floor. Whilst the rooms is quite basic, it is clean, spacious and functional. The fridge is convenient but so noisy. All the a/c works very effectively. Bathroom is recently renovated. Also the balcony with glass door is very convenient until late autumn. The breakfast was table served with 3 options (classic, nordic and vegetarian); all were tasty. Sadly only filter coffee (from thermos container) was available while espresso based coffees would lift the experience to the right level. The service was friendly. Overall, nice and cozy stay.

this is a small boutique hotel with fantastic facilities and hosts. Breakfast is huge and of high quality served in the sweet atmosphere of the 19 century dining room. We enjoyed it's proximity to all restaurants and nearby attractions.

We stayed in Villa-Maija (Villa Anke) with our child for 1 night. Villa is beautiful and nicely located really close to Hanko. Room was quite good in size for 3 people. There wasn’t toilet or shower in the room. Toilet and shower are located on corridor and were shared with another room. We are allergic and sensitive to indoor air problems. We got problems with indoor air quality and we had to minimize the time we spent inside in room. Luckily weather was nice, so we could spend a lot of time outside. Luckily there was also auxiliary air conditioning device in room providing fresh and cool air to room, but it was noisy, so we felt hard to sleep while it was on.

Our room (M5 in Villa Maija) was atmospheric, spacious and clean. It was also quiet even if there walls are not so thick. Location is excellent, everything is within walking distance. Breakfast is plentiful and staff is friendly.

The only reason this property is 4 stars and not 5 is that it’s not a luxury property. But it’s charming, clean, comfortable, and close to everything. Breakfast is excellent; staff are helpful and speak excellent English. Sitting in the yard is pleasant. All they need is a sauna...
