NUMBER OF ROOMS
I stayed for 2 days on a business trip. During the checkin process, I noticed that the receptionist is writing down my credit card details. Upon questioning he said that it is just for security. I asked whether he is noting down the CVV number too. He was writing down under the cover of a table and hence couldn't see it. He emphatically, repeatedly said NO. I believed him assuming that it is a decent hotel. However, during the checkout I noticed the same paper which had my CVV number. They have the swipe machine and can take a sufficient amount as deposit. Upon arguing they were vague about the reason for stealing my data and I understood that it is as per the management policy and they are fully aware that it is illegal. As he was lying about the CVV number, obviously he was stealing the data without my permission. Otherwise he need not have lied. I have immediately cancelled the card and applied for a replacement.…
Me and my husband stayed 3 nights at Hotel Himalaya. Great location! Just 5 min walk to Patan Durban Square. The deluxe room was big with a super comfortable bed. Great laundry service available. Breakfast buffet was delicious. Dinner restaurant was great!!! Service was 100 points. The only “bad” think was that the wifi was only available at the lobby, not in the room.
We were staying 2 nights in the Hotel Himalaya in Katmandu and had a wonderful time. This is my first time in Nepal and firts time in Asia. I want to give a big THANKS to the wonderful waiter/bartender Surendra Giri, who made my stay a truly special. Being really professional and very nice at the same time, he truly made our stay exceptional. Thank you again for all the care you offered to our group!
Modern hotel with all the amenities in the rooms. Rooms of a good size. Quick lift to all floors. Excellent breakfast menu. Helpful staff. Free wifi only in the lobby. 24 hour money exchange. Concierge on duty. Good parking.
We stayed here on 3 separate occasions on our visit to Nepal and Bhutan. The hotel is good and is obviously popular with locals as there was at least one wedding held there on one of our stays. We were upgraded on our 2nd and 3rd stays, but in one room, the A/C was leaking into the room and the bathroom had an unpleasant smell. The food (we only had breakfast) in the restaurant is good with good choices and great service. The staff are great and very friendly and helpful. But... In this day and age I don’t expect to have to pay ($9 a day!) for WiFi in my room, and parts of the hotel are a little tired and could do with some TLC.
