Stayed three nights. Rooms were clean and well taken care of. Friendly and attentive staff. My only complaint was the size of the refrigerator. It would have been nice to be able to take some extra food for our dinner. Will definitely stay again.
This is a GREAT place to stay! We stayed here with our family, which included our 6 and 8 year old boys, our 16 and 18 year- old niece and nephew, my sister, my mom and aunt, plus 2 dogs. Large span of ages, but everyone loved it! The rooms are super clean and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. Every employee seems personally invested in making our stay comfortable. The charm, service and cleanliness was better that the large chain hotels we typically stay at. We fished the White River and swam in the spring which is a short walk away, boated on Bull Shoals lake, shopped at the Natural State Fly Shop…so many things to do and not enough time in the 5 nights we stayed. Our kids loved the little touches of the fish-themed bingo game we found in our room and the large book about fish that explained all the species. Our whole group is looking forward to coming back!…
Wonderful accommodations! Super clean, very friendly, perfect for a fishing weekend! We had to arrive super late and they were happy to help. The cafe around the corner was great for Breakfast too! Definitely planning on staying again!
I stayed because of the other excellent reviews and glad I did. From the outside, it is an old motel but it is one of those times where you can't tell a book from it's cover. Because I went to the area to fish, I had suitcase of everyday clothes and what I wear when I go fishing. So, I had a fair amount. Being able to drive up to the door was great. There is one section where there is a second level but I requested a first level when I made reservations. I liked being able to open the back of my SUV and walk less than 5 feet to the room. It was a plus right off the start. The room had a king size bed, a kitchen table with two chairs, a very comfortable recliner and a side chair. When I made reservations, the lady told me the bed was soft to some people, but I certainly didn't think it too soft. I have a bad back and the two nights I stayed I slept better than I have for years and supposedly have one of the best mattresses money can buy at home. There was a small refrigerator, a microwave and a small coffee pot with coffee packets. There is satellite TV and I had no trouble at all getting on my cell phone or the Internet. The bathroom was very clean which is very important to me. The shower pressure was fantastic and water was hot and didn't fluctuate . Another thing I liked was the tiled floor instead of wall to wall carpet in the room. It was easy to see it was clean and when many people use the place as somewhere to stay when fishing and hiking, just think what might be on a carpet. The room was fresh and clean. There was a remote control for the heater and air conditioner. From the time when I called to make the reservation, to checking in and out, the lady at the front desk, I wish I could remember her name, was exceptional. I knew that I was arriving late and she hid a key for me because the office was closed. When I checked in the next morning , she was as friendly in person as she was on the phone. The rooms are decorated like a fishing cabin resort. My room had knotty log bed frame high off the floor and paintings and decorations for trout fishing which goes with the name. Cotter Trout Lodge is comfortable, clean and a very reasonably priced place to stay. Cotter, Arkansas is a small old town. It has one restaurant just for breakfast and lunch directly behind Cotter Trout Lodge. It was a terrific place for breakfast with friendly waitresses and with some of the lowest prices I have paid for breakfast in years. .…
Trout fishing on the White river. Clean and comfortable. Very close to the river. My wife and I had been wanting to make this trip for quite a while and were not disappointed by the Lodge or the Cotter Trout Dock.
My husband and I stayed at the Cotter Trout Lodge during a guided fishing trip on the White River. While not new or luxurious by some standards, we found the room comfortable, clean, and reasonably priced which are those things that we care about most. The lodge is beside the beautiful White River with an easy walking path down to the river and convenient to the boat dock by car. There are two restaurants a short walk away for breakfast giving you plenty of time to meet your charter trip. If we have the opportunity to return, we would not hesitate to stay at Cotter Trout Lodge again!
Clean, friendly folks, lots of room, updated and close to fishing. We have stayed here before and it is always a pleasure. It is our place to stay when we are in the area. Just a few minutes from Mountain Home and very close to the river.
Felt welcome from the time we checked in, until we left. Everyone was soo friendly and helpful. We were going to be on the river until 11, and they let us check out at 12, so we had time to come back and change clothes, after the fishing. Highly recommend!!!
I stay at the Cotter Trout Lodge each year. The rooms are quaint and clean. Close to the river. It is incredibly quiet there. Sit by the fire pit and shoot the breeze with other guests (mostly fishermen). An enjoyable experience each year. Right next door is a great little place to get a good breakfast and start the day. Cotter is really a unique, little, river town.
Very nice, pleasant stay at this quaint motel. Room was not large but well appointed with fishing motif and a beautiful cedar headboard. Motel is close to the White River which is world famous for Trout fishing. It was a chilly night outside but inside was cozy with two heaters and a comfy bed.
