Hosts, Steve and Elisabeth Sonnamaker were wonderful. upon arriving I was welcomed like part of the family. The Inn itself was magnificent. Inside was decorated wonderfully, was very, very clean, and my room was so comfortable. Not often you have a jacuzzi tub on a property such as this. There are 2 rooms to have large gatherings if needed and plenty of room on the patio. Speaking of the patio, the views were unbelievable. Such a great view from the patio and my room. It truly was an experience. The food was next level. From breakfast, to lunch, and dinner, I can't express how outstanding it was. I give it 5-stars for sure. My guide, Jason, is also one of a kind. He knows the river, the places to go for the conditions as it changes frequently, and always gets us the "The Spot" to catch these enormous Browns. You learn new ways to approach and fish for these unique trout. He is a joy to spend a day with as we always ask for him. I just wanted to thank Steve, Elisabeth, and of course Jason for such a great time! I am already working on my next bookings for next year. Thank you again, it was such a fantastic experience.…
A little piece of paradise. Lovely, quiet lodge "home" tucked away in the woods high above the White River in Arkansas. Proprietors Steve and Elisabeth Sonnamaker are the perfect innkeepers. Experienced, energetic, friendly and ready to accommodate your every wish with a smile. From lodging to food, linings to furnishings, fishing to conversations, let Steve and Elisabeth cater to your next unwind at The White River Inn. You will love it, we did! Gary & Pam - Nov. 2-4, 2021 P.S. The fishing is fantastic and the guides provided are superb. Definitely a keeper. We're coming back!
A trip of a lifetime! Beautiful lodge. Orvis endorsed. Elisabeth is a master chef, making everything from scratch. Homemade desserts with amazing entrees. Fishing guides couldn't be more helpful. Pull one in and another line waiting. Steven is the most congenial person that can answer any question you might have! My first fly fishing trip and I feel in love. Don't delay -- book today!!
October 28/21. My husband and I just returned from several nights at this wonderful lodge. You know about the reports ( true) which reflect the superb fishing. I’d like to mention the food and the 9,000 sq foot lodge. When I first walked in, you are just pulled to the beautiful view! I marched right thru the glass doors and I had goosebumps. (What a cliff, ( phew!) very large deck, & the mountains as a backdrop against the White River just takes your breath away. We met couples from: Oregon, TN, and Texas. Elizabeth made a light , shrimp pasta with a 5 star dessert of German Choc Cake that was to die for and the next night we had steaks with grilled Veggies and loaded potatoes and I do mean “loaded.” ( 2 different styles of yummy salads too) Steve and a Elizabeth will do just about anything to make you feel at home. “Z” is their well behaved Standard Poodle ; she is so sweet and beautiful. Our room was very nice with heavy duty Mission furniture and the shower is so strong, ( I hate weak showers) the walk out area, decks, for the fresh air and view, is special. The Nespresso machine in the room is nice but if you prefer an espresso, we’ll Steve or a Elizabeth will fix you up. There’s an area with any drink you could imagine, ice, premium glasses, snacks , and all steps from your suite. No need to go to the kitchen. Enormous Pendleton Chief Blankets are in your closet for the porch. We actually used them sitting under the stars. We have stayed in luxury camps in 5 countries in Africa, Same type of lodge style in New Zealand too. White River Inn is a shinning star. 3 nights seems perfect. However, I don’t fly fish. All the other ladies ( girlfriend and 3 wives) did fish. So a few couples stayed beyond 3 days and they were having a blast. So, that is personal.…
The White River Inn is an amazing escape! The new owners, Steve and Elisabeth, were beyond accommodating! They were present to take care of our every need! Elisabeth is a spectacular chef and even made a special birthday cake for one of our guests! The lodge was spotless, the beds were super comfortable and the fridge was stocked! Oh, and the fishing was great, too. Steve and Elisabeth took care of booking our fishing guides and provided a delicious lunch to enjoy on the river. My family has been to the White River many times but this was our first time to stay at The Inn. We will go back very soon!
This place exceeded our expectations. Very comfortable and spacious lodge type setting, with an amazing view of the river. The food was excellent and our fishing trip was perfect. We caught lots of fish and had a great time. We are on our way home now and can’t wait to go back. Moose and Tina, we enjoyed our visit and felt like we were talking to some old friends and hope our paths cross again soon.
This lodge provided the most outstanding experience! Tremendous food, most gracious hosts, and fantastic fishing on The White River with expert guides. No wonder this is an Orvis certified spot, everything is top drawer and beautifully executed. Gorgeous guest suites with beautifully appointed baths made the stay luxurious, the stocked beverage fridge was most welcoming. My husband and I were served wonderfully prepared meals in this fantastic lodge. I asked for some of the recipes, they were “take home” musts. The company of our hosts and other guests made for wonderful conversation and great “fish stories”! We were stunned by the beauty of the area, both on and off the the river. The immediate area was lovely for walking, with abundant wildlife of deer and birds, and the views from the deck were unparalleled. Our fishing guide, Matt, was fantastic at finding the fish and patient as the day is long, besides being a wonderful conversationalist and all around great guy. We highly recommend The White River Inn for fantastic trout fishing and a wonderful getaway!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️…
My wife Cindy and I just returned from a spectacular trip to the White River Inn in Cotter, Arkansas. The gracious owners Moose and Tina Watson welcomed us like family and went out of their way to make sure we had a phenomenal experience. And we did! Their lodge is simply breathtaking. First class, very spacious, beautiful, warm and inviting. This hilltop oasis of grandeur offers stunning views high above the White River, and all of the comforts of home inside. All inclusive means you don't have to worry about a thing when you are guests at the White River Inn! Upon arriving our group of 4 couples settled in to enjoy beer, wine and tasty snacks on huge overstuffed couches in the Great Room, before being called to gather around the stately 12 person dining room table for dinner. The time melted away as we enjoyed delicious 5 star meals every morning and evening around that beautiful table, while basking in the joy of old friendships and new experiences. Moose lined up seasoned guides for our 2 days of fly fishing, and they also treated us like royalty. A cold front and overcast skies resulted in very good but not incredible fishing, but we honestly had so much fun no one cared! I was still happy to land a fat 21" rainbow on a caddis nymph while being guided by Duane Bell just below the Bull Shoals dam. Our CGCG group of life long friends have fly fished in Montana, Utah, New Mexico, Florida, Alaska, the Bahamas and Patagonia, Chile. Moose and Tina Watson and the White River Inn are as good as it gets!…
Booked a trip to fish 3 days there in October. We will never forget the experience - from arrival til departure we had the best time, the best guides, the best food, and the best of Moose and Tina’s hospitality. My wife who has never fished caught trout and loved the guide. Trout Fishing was great fun and the food and fellowship simply outstanding. Moose and Tina run a truly all inclusive luxury lodge with a warm personal touch. We forgot about everything in the world while there and just enjoyed the time. We will go back!
Gorgeous lodge with even lovelier people. Moose and Tina took amazing care of our group on our family vacation. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed, the views are spectacular, the fishing is phenomenal, and the food is delicious! I highly recommend for a family vacation- we hated to leave! Thanks Moose and Tina for making us feel like family!
