This is an old RV park built in the 70s and is not designed for today’s longer rigs with slide outs. The sites are gravel with a cement pad for your chairs. The gravel is hit and miss with lots of dirt showing. The sites are crowded and if they were full, we would have had no place to park. Luckily they were not full and seem to stagger people so that you can park your tow vehicle somewhere near; although it might be in another empty site. They do have lots of parking outside the park but it is dirt and along a very busy road. There are many long term winter visitors in both RVs and a few Park Models. The saving grace of the park is the people who winter here are very friendly and so is the park staff. If you are looking for lots of social interactions and events, this place is perfect. But the park itself is in need of major updating. Internet - Not included at site (available at Club House but didn’t use) Noise - Awful! Right next to major road with a stop light and constant cars day and night. Also lots of air traffic as well. Amenities - Lots of planned activities and very welcoming and friendly people. Verizon - Excellent and I could hot spot. T-Mobile was poor! Site #187 Back In 50 amp (many sites are not updated to 50 amp) You can get mail here and deliveries…
We typically like camp grounds out in the woods with fire pits and a little bit more remote. However, we wanted to be in Yuma over the holidays to be near our Marine grandson so needed to do a private park. We were pleasantly surprised with this one. The people in the front office are very friendly and efficient and helpful. There is a slab of cement to step out onto from your motorhome, trailer or camper. Your vehicle goes the other side of that and so there is some privacy space in between. No picnic tables. There aren’t lots of trees but there are some and there are some beautiful bushes throughout the campground. Bathroom is super clean as is hot tub pool and laundry area. FHU. What a special treat in the park that there is someone who likes to bake and there are always treats in the freezer in the clubhouse for only a dollar. Really, homemade treats like carrot cake and no bake cookies always. Not lots of activities right now because of Covid. If we ever came back to Yuma again we would not hesitate to stay here. I read the comment about the treatment of someone’s pets not being the best and we have not witnessed that at all. People are walking by frequently with their animals. This park is a five minute trip to Walmart and right off several major roads to go anywhere that you might want to go in the area. It is also 3 miles from an international airport and there are many beautiful lakes/ponds in the surrounding countryside. Great places to eat too. D’Boyz was a favorite. …
Park is nice and well kept. Many long term snow birds who keep their places nice. We stayed here with our dog and I don't understand the reviews with negative comments about pets. We had no problem walking our dog out to the area when needed and it didn't require a lot of effort. Maybe if you are unable to walk your dog you shouldn't have one. The spaces are a little tight but our 30' RV was no problem with wide enough sites to park your tow vehicle next to the RV. You can ride your atv from the park to many trails.
They do not allow you to walk your dogs inside the park. There is not a dog run. They ask you to take them outside of the park and walk them along a busy street plus they want you to take a little of water and wash away their urine. There is no place to let them run. The rules they give you about pets is a whole page long. The people were friendly though.
If you like regimentation and organization, with lots of notices plastered all over telling you what you can and can't do in a clean park, you will like this place; on the other hand if you are comfortable in parks that have rules, but don't seem to concerned with enforcing them you'd be better off there.
We spent three nights at the Arizona West RV park recently and found the park adequate in every way. Yes, it is a little outdated in decor and amenities but you get what you pay for. We found the washrooms were always clean as was the pool area and showers. The other guest were very friendly and we met some very nice people there. The park is on a busy street and we could hear traffic noise so next time we would park closer to the back of the property. The only problem was the wifi ~ we had to sit in the clubhouse area to get a good connection.
We stayed in our motor home for 8 nights in total, and it is a pleasant place to stay although it seems very expensive. $30 a night and the wifi is not good, the cable was not available, although that could have been our cable. There are A LOT of rules in this park, and we thought because we were staying for a week, they may have given us a break on the fees, but they did not. We had planned to stay for two weeks, but when we were given the price of $373 for two weeks I think my eyes almost popped out of my head! That is the price for a month! The notes say that the pool was updated, but we were there 2 years ago and the same tiles were missing this time! The laundry facilities are clean, quiet and efficient , but pricey, and do not have a shower in the pool area bathrooms after 9:00AM, you will not have any hot water. The showers at the club house are amazing though and thoroughly cleaned and spacious. The office uses bankers hours, so if you arrive after 3:00PM you have to wait until the next day to pay or use the envelops provided for over night stays. Yes there are a lot of aircrafts flying around, but we saw it as our own personal airshow, we enjoyed it. I can not stress this enough though, the people who live in the park are friendly and welcoming!! They are so great and we loved meeting them all!!!…
Well this is not going to be a nice review as the Management are not Pet friendly in any way at all. This is my first really negative review in 9 months on the road. If you have a dog no matter what size it is, you will want to look elsewhere. Go just up the road to Sun Ridge RV park instead. We spent two weeks here in January and will never be back to this park again. The people working there are all rude and could not give you the time of day. The park is nice enough and the residence of the park are mostly friendly but there are lots of water outages and the cable and wifi are not good. There are rules for everything and no washing your RV ever. The water in Yuma is not great so you will have to cope with desalinized water. Pool and hot tub were OK and the sites are a good size. This park is not all bad but just don't bring a pet. Lots of road, airplane and siren noise. There are a lot of parks in Yuma so do your homework which is why I am writing this review to save you some time on this park. The rules say right in them that your dog must live in your RV. Not very humane even for our furry Babies. I am posting the section where it says this. This park needs new management in a big way so the current ones can retire. Good luck and look else where.…
