I had an opportunity to stay 5 days at my favorite rustic retreat. There was plenty to see and do. Cattle round up, branding and sorting. The weather was great cool mornings nice worm days and a couple of rain showers. What more can you ask for

We planned a last minute trip to take my son fishing. I looked everywhere for a remote cabin like setting. I found this and thought it was perfect for us. Expedia showed 1 room available. I booked it for $260 and got a confirmation text and email. that said "Your reservation is confirmed. No need to call to reconfirm." I...

Another wonderful stay at Cherry Creek Lodge. My last stay had an extra feature of an ATV ride and shoot. It was a 40 mile ride with 6 interesting ways to test you skills at different weapons all for fun. The location, staff and accommodation are always first class (remember it is a working cattle ranch)

It's not exactly what you expect, but it ends up being even better. Cherry Creek Lodge is on one of the most beautiful pieces of land I've ever seen (over 55,000 acres), and managed by a husband and wife team who seem to know everything there is to know about cattle ranching. They've managed many huge ranches over the years,...

I'm a suburban woman who lives practically next door to shopping and entertainment, so I knew this weekend at CCL would be "a 180" for how I usually live. Please don't come here if you can't give up the malls, the hurried pace, and your Saturday date night at the movies! Leave your make-up and your expectation of good cell...

Cherry Creek Lodge is the perfect get-a-way for a quick weekend trip. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly and you can't beat the beauty! There is so much to do and even if you do nothing at all you feel so relaxed. This was our 3rd visit and we will return again. Thank you for a great weekend Sherry,...

It is a beautiful place and the staff was nice. Their staff was MIA and when we arrived the meals were not set up and we had no activities while we stayed. We had to drive for to go for meals and ended up leaving early and paying double for our stay to stay at a different place where meals...

Stacey H. We apologize for your discontent regarding your stay with us here at Cherry Creek Lodge. However, we were not notified prior to your arrival of a weight concern. For the safety of our guests and animals we unfortunately have to make a sound judgement on the horses behalf and yours. We were not understaffed and tried very much...

It isn't often that I'm taken aback by the sense of how people live but for the folks managing the ranch I was truly amazed by the friendliness and cordiality of the people at Cherry Creek. From the moment we arrived to the end of our trip I felt as if I was visiting family and not some "B&B". Sheri...

My 11 yr. old son and I celebrated his birthday at Cherry Creek Lodge. On our way home he said it was the best weekend of his life! We went fishing, hiking, shot clay pigeons, and went on a long trail ride looking for cattle! The team at Cherry Creek Lodge could not have been nicer. Sherri is a wonderful...

Cherry Creek Lodge is a luxurious retreat center on a working cattle ranch located 3 hours northeast of Phoenix in the Tonto National Forest. Pristine forest surrounds the ranch. My husband and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary here. We enjoyed horseback riding, skeet shooting, and an intimate wine picnic by a beautiful creek. Lots of interesting things to see and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Cherry Creek Lodge (Arizona Guest Ranch)/dude ranch) is part of the Tilting H Ranch -- a working 40,000 acre cattle ranch, set in the heart of the Tonto National Forest along the Mogollon Rim in Arizona. Featured on Arizona Highways TV and on the cover of Arizona Highways Magazine, and listed as the #1 romantic getaway in Sonoran Living. A study in rustic elegance, providing all the modern comforts, while staying true to its working cattle ranch history. Enjoy the accommodations at the lodge - the spacious great hall with its fireplace and leather couches, the supremely comfortable bedrooms, the deck overlooking the lake and the patio with its fire pit. The lodge is the perfect place for a corporate retreat, or a small wedding. Of course, it is also the perfect place to just relax when not out on a cattle drive or on the trail on our well-trained, responsive horses, or taking advantage of the many activities around the ranch, including the roping arena, rifle range, 3-D archery course, sporting clay course, four-wheeling, fishing, hiking and more. It is also rich in old west history and culture - the site of one of the gunfights of the infamous "Pleasant Valley War". (A reenactment of the gunfight was aired on Arizona Highways TV). The war is one the most famous of the range wars in the American West, the subject of a number of nonfiction books, as well as the source of a number novels (including one by Zane Grey) and movie plots. ... more   less
