The hotel was nice but no hot water. This was not okay. The refrigerator in the room did not work. When reported the front desk told me to plug it in. This should have been done before our arrival instead of waiting for it to get cold to put my drinks in it. The train ride was great. Out conductor Dennis was a wonderful man full of knowledge. You could tell he loves his job. Once we arrived at the canyon we were told a shuttle would be available for us since we had my mom in a wheelchair. ALYSSE at the shuttle told us she couldn’t give us a ride and to take the bus. We wheeled my mom up the hill to see the canyon because the bus was too full. The view was wonderfully amazing. We went to get lunch at the popular restaurant and was told there would be a 20 minute wait. When we asked to have our name put down to wait, the host rolled his eyes as if this was a problem. We left and went to the steak house which was a pleasant experience. On the way back to the train we tried the shuttle again, same girl, and was told she was full. We walked to the train to see her drive up in an empty van. We spoke to her supervisor who acted as if he didn’t care. You would think a national park would have handicap options. Nope! This was not worth the money and unless you are traveling as a couple, no kids and surely not a handicap person, I would not recommend taking this trip.

Hotel's Favorite
I booked a 2 night package with the hotel that included 2 nights in a king size room, 4 meals in the Harvey House Cafe, train tickets to the Grand Canyon and bus tour of the Canyon. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff helpful and friendly. Even just passing a staff member in the hall got me a pleasant greeting. Registration was quick. I was given my room key and directed to the depot office where I received vouchers for meals, train and tour. I was provided complete instructions on each attraction informing me when, where and how to use them. Nothing is left to chance. Even though the hotel was full my stay was quiet and comfortable. I would stay again and recommend it to my friends.

We did a family trip to the Grand Canyon while visiting Arizona and this train trip was a great experience for my adult children, pre-teen/teen grands and me. Booking was easy, staff was friendly and the whole experience was well planned and fun.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. My wife and I stayed in the RV park. There are plenty of spaces, very clean and lots of amenities. Super friendly staff, RVers and close enough to the highway but not close enough to hear it. Brewery across the way was fantastic!! They have a zip line as well. Just a great place!!
