We were looking for a place to play golf on escape from snow to some golf and sun in California. Was happy to discover Rancho de los Caballeros. We're not the dude ranch sort of people, but found this resort to be a great deal for a golf vacation. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Grounds were well-kept. Golf course was nicely manicured and fun with some challenge. The Ranch package with golf (or horseback riding) and American Plan for meals was great. For lunch we could eat at the golf clubhouse or at the hotel. Breakfasts included lots of fruits, breads and meats and there was a station for eggs and omelets. Because of our tee times, we ate at the golf clubhouse both days. My husband enjoyed the salmon & watermelon salad one day and the special sandwhich the next, I enjoyed the taco salad one day and the shrimp louie the next. A nice touch were the homemade cookies offered at the end of lunch. For dinner we had salads, ribeye steak and chicken marsala and dessert. On the second night we both had the night's special: smoked pork belly stuffed chile relleno. It was delicious and filling enough where we did not have salad or dessert. That night there was a hotel-sponsored cocktail party, but by the time we got off the golf course and ready for dinner we had forgotten about it. All in all a great stay. I can recommend Rancho de los Caballeros.

We had a fantastic week at the Ranch. The guest room was spacious, charming and comfortable. The dining room and service exceptional- the best food we have had in a long time. We went horse riding every day and each ride was better than the last. The horses were healthy, happy and well trained, and the wranglers were outstanding. The terrain and views around the ranch were breathtaking. We already thinking about coming back.

We went there for 3 days in between visits to Scottsdale. The place does not disappoint. The scenery is gorgeous. You can't help but smile with the views. The service is excellent. I love how they get young students from all over the world to work there in the winter. So many interesting kids. Everyone works really hard to make sure that the guests have an excellent stay. The food was very yummy and plenty of it if you've been riding or hiking all day, which we had. The bar is well stocked and the bartenders are fun to talk to. The bar itself is very interesting ( SW flare mixed with Mexican art deco) stunning. Why it is not a five star, it is needs a little facelift (don't we all ). The bathrooms are a bit dated, and they need to build a fitness center. I really missed working out. One or two days is fine but a week would seem long not having a weight room or something other to do than ride or hike. I wish they offered morning yoga on a vista overlooking the desert - that would be cool. The horses are forgiving for new and intermediate riders. They are well maintained, clean and seem pretty happy to be out on such a beautiful property. We went @ Xmas, and I loved the Xmas Country theme. It was very old school . I would highly recommend this as a family get-a-way. Super relaxing and a refreshing stop in our crazy lives. If you are fussy about old bathrooms (they still work ) or modern amenities, then this isn't your place. If you can forgive the dated bathrooms and want to hang with horses- this is your place.

We took my three daughters (3, 6 and 11) and had a wonderful visit. The service level is perfect. Krystina Brice was amazing during the entire trip. She checked us in, made sure we had a perfect room ams was a constant support person for every need we had. Her patience is incredible. She made sure we had babysitting for our little one and that our older kids were taken care of in the kids program. The little things she did made all the difference in our stay. Overall, the ranch is stunning with beautiful rooms, fantastic food and real life cowboys to make your experience real. The running of the horses (over 80 horses) in the mornings and evenings is amazing. I highly reccomend this peaceful place. And make sure to seek out Krystina to get the best service!!

This was our first time visiting a dude ranch. I spent three nights there with my husband, my sister, her husband and kids. They had a great time. The kids love the horse back riding and their favorite person was Fasha the server from Jamaica. The kids love, She knows every kids by name. She would come and ask the kids how was their day and what their activity plans for the rest of the day. She knows what the kids want to drink as they enter the dining room. She very patient with kids. We will definitely be back to see her before the season ends.
