A beautiful hotel as was pictured in the web site. Our stay was great and stress free, our check in guy explained everything we’d need to know and a couple restaurants in the area we might like. The room was clean and quiet and the beds were soft, the bathroom was first class with lots of little things you use on a daily basis. We never got maid service on our second day, we weren’t sure if that is a Covid thing or not since we’ve experienced that before traveling. We used the fitness room which was decent the pool seemed like an afterthought very small with a heavy chlorine smell and no ventilation so we opted not to use it. We’d stay here again if we came back this way for sure. The wild Elk roaming around the property was a plus!

Hotel's Favorite
Stayed here the last weekend of April 2021. Loved the lodge atmosphere of the hotel. The staff at the front desk was friendly and gave us some good recommendations. The room was clean with modern amenities, beds were comfortable and shower was clean with good water pressure. There was no daily room cleaning service due to COVID, but this has become standard across most hotels so that was not surprising. We were only there two days and had more than enough towels and supplies that we did not need to request anything. In fact the bath towels were in a sealed bag, which was unique from other hotels we've stayed at during COVID and was nice if you are the type to really be concerned about cleanliness and health safety. This was my first time staying at the Grand Hotel (had stayed at the smaller hotels in town on previous trips) and I would say this has been the best of them. We did not eat at the steakhouse but we did get a drink at the saloon both nights and really enjoyed it. The bartender was very friendly too. There is also a really nice gift shop in the hotel with fair prices. Would definitely stay here again.

If you are planning a trip to the Grand Canyon do not choose this property. Looks beautiful online and rooms are not bad however, the restaurant, store and pool are all closed. There are other properties across the street that are very nice with all amenities open.

When we got to this Hotel our reservations from SnapTravel for whatever reason had canceled our reservation. But the people at the front desk were great and still got us a room and even honored the rate I had booked through the third party. Very nice Hotel at least 4 star in my book. The staff was so accommodating to us. And I truly appreciated their gracious service. I had printed out the confirmation but the third party must have canceled after that at some point. Blessings to Dana and her counterpart at the front desk, as I was doing my best from blowing a gasket! Beautiful, clean, and very nice accommodations!

Their website describes this place as "luxurious." Not true! First, their customer service was inconsistent and at times poor. Upon check-in the morning-shift front desk agent ("Christine," I believe - she was not wearing a normal name tag; only a lanyard tag that was hard to read) told us that she had "no idea" when our rooms would be ready, and she also told us they could not store our luggage for us. What "luxury" hotel cannot - at a minimum - store your luggage if your room is not ready? After I pleaded with her, stating that we could not leave our luggage in a hot car all day, she checked with someone else and told us we could store our luggage in the front office. This was an acceptable solution, but it should have been offered proactively. We also asked if she could answer some questions about the Grand Canyon and she looked like a deer in headlights. The one piece of information she gave us was that it would be very hard to find parking at the Village or the Visitor Center, which was completely wrong as there were lots of spaces available. That evening when we returned from the Canyon, the two front desk agents were positively delightful and very helpful. The next morning, however, the same agent was there from the previous morning. She did not acknowledge us with a 'good morning' greeting, and she was very curt during the checkout process. Thus the inconsistency. Ultimately, we cannot recommend staying here. Although The Grand Hotel has some nice amenities like free AM coffee in the lobby, there is really nothing special about the hotel. During our day in the Canyon, we saw several adorable-looking places to stay that would be SO MUCH MORE CONVENIENT if your purpose is to visit the Grand Canyon South Rim. My suggestions include: El Tovar Hotel, Bright Angel Lodge and Maswik Lodge. We ate dinner at Fred Harvey's in Bright Angel and it seemed like it would be a quaint, authentic lodging experience where you could hop right on the canyon shuttle and easily go anywhere along the south rim.

Arrived at the hotel to be told that we would have to move our own luggage to our room, as no staff. The restaurant was closed due to staff shortages. We were told we could get some food in the bar area but would have a long wait as they only had two staff serving !!! The rooms are crappy. The gym stank of old sweat. The whole place is a dump. The Grand Hotel ?!!! What a joke !!! Save your money . Avoid.

Very nice hotel. Friendly staff. Clean comfortable rooms. Convenient to the Grand Canyon. Reasonable rates. Grocery store, bars and restaurants close. My only issue is that this is a resort and they close their very nice bar and restaurant on Sat, Sun and Mon. There are other options close by but it’s an inconvenience. Haley, the bartender that was on duty Friday, heard us talking about the canyon came over and volunteered so much helpful information and was so very nice. Every resort should have a Haley. We will come back because of her.

Located just outside the South Rim Park entrance, this hotel has large, comfortable rooms. We saw other guests on our floor (3rd) but never heard them. We had two queen beds. Nice amenities include a microwave, refrigerator, lots of shelf space, lots of lights, a makeup mirror that could be plugged in either the bathroom or the desk — making our mornings easy. The gift shop has a refrigerated section where we purchased one box lunch that we took with us on a full hiking day — and one box was plenty for two people — sandwich, chips, string cheese, apple, orange, jello, potato salad, condiments, and napkins in a sturdy cardboard box. I would definitely stray here again. By the way, the indoor pool was open during our stay but we were always too tired from hiking to take advantage of it. We didn’t try the restaurant — it was closed part of the time if they didn’t have enough servers. (Same the world over since COVID.) Nice gift shop, friendly employees, helpful front desk who automatically gave us a list of nearby restaurants and their recommendations.
