This was a booking made just days before our trip the the Grand Canyon. Selection was made based on price and location. We had recently returned from a trip to Israel, where we stayed in fabulous, modern hotels. I was pleased to see that the new room (701) was as elegant and

Thank you for staying with us and sharing your review. There is a saying, "Be a traveler, not a tourist." I think one of the best ways to achieve this is by getting to know the locals. You were able to delight in the company of new friends, and we couldn't be happier to hear our team made you feel at home. We will celebrate their hospitality on your behalf. You found our accommodations to be clean, our service friendly and efficient, and our products and services fit your needs. When you are on vacation, you hope your expectations will be exceeded. It's what you deserve! We strive to lead the industry in providing superior care, and you have let us know we are on the right track. Thank you also for offering great suggestions about the local area and how other guests can maximize time and money. We appreciate you and look forward to welcoming you back again.

The hotel is nice, the staff were pleasant, the room was nicely laid out. That is where everything ended. I don't mind paying a little more for convenience but this hotel did not live up to the cost. After a long day of sight seeing, we both wanted a drink, no ice bucket, had

Thank you for staying with us and sharing your review. We appreciate you recognizing that we were pleasant and our layout was to your liking; your other comments are a wake-up call for us as we can not continue to operate in this way at this price if we are to maintain your trust in our hotel. Guests are aware of our rates and the rates of the area, and they agree to invest because they know six million other guests are looking to visit The Grand Canyon this year, but you deserve to have basic expectations met when you stay with us. You should have standard amenities provided in your room, everything should be in working order, blankets should be clean, and quality products should be offered at prices that reflect that quality. Your convenience and comfort were compromised, and we have some work to do in an effort to earn back your trust. We apologize for letting you down and hope you will reconsider staying with us. We believe we are better than what you experienced and we hope we will have another chance to show you.

Thank you for staying with us and sharing your review. You had quite a drive to get to us from Las Vegas, although it goes by so fast with such beautiful views along the way. It's a relief after that drive to walk into a clean and comfortable hotel and to be greeted by smiling faces who are happy to hear about your journey and help you to make the most of your visit. We look forward to being part of your next visit, and we wish you safe travels until we meet again.

Has anyone stayed in the Economy Double rooms? What are they like?
I stayed in the double deluxe room with 2 beds. It was roomy and very clean. The entire property is well maintained and I don't think you could go wrong with any room you book here. Some rooms are within the "main building" and others are in buildings that are not directly adjoined to the main building, but very close to everything you would need (see pics posted with my review). I would suggest calling the hotel directly to book in a specific area.

They do a breakfast special, around 6 or 7 dollars. Although it is on the smaller side.

We didn't go with a tour guide, just drove to the south rim, which is practically down the street from the hotel. When we visited in April, it was difficult to get to the north rim. Can't remember if one of the roads was closed, but something you should look into. If you plan to go deep into the canyon, there are some tours that take you down on mules. September is a non-tourist month so you may get better rates and no problem booking. Obviously, if you call the hotel in advance and ask to speak with their concierge, they will give you valuable info. I did this in advance and it helped.
