Our family of five (kids aged 9, 12 and 15) visiting from the UK had an outstanding stay at the Jaguar Jungle Lodge. This place is a true paradise set amidst stunning sunsets, landscaping, flora and fauna. It was friendly and welcoming, unpretentious and easy going. We stayed for five nights in the loft room and did guided and unguided jungle treks, snorkelled (on the property and Cano Island), swam on the property and also at beautiful beaches with no-one else around and we had unforgettable wildlife encounters including close encounters with Puma on two occasions when they visited the edge of the property. The lodge provided good meals and very attentive service, amenities like reliable WiFi, hot and filtered drinking water, and well stocked bar. It’s clear the staff work very hard and this contributed to an amazing time here for our family. If you are visiting Costa Rica and looking at the Osa Peninsular I recommend going here.

We stayed for two nights at the end of March 2024 in an Oceanfront cabin. The garden overlooking the sea was gorgeous and beautifully kept. Eco lodge all run on solar power. The bar and restaurant was intimate and stylish with lovely home cooked food, all included in the price. The property has lots of trails into the rainforest with lots of wildlife all around. We booked the overnight tour into Corcovado which was great. Eddie in the bar worked so hard and did a great job, best Pinocolada I have ever tasted. Yaznir was a great tour guide and worked so hard to Spot incredible animals for us and Rob looked after everything well. The cook (sorry I don’t recall her name) cooked lovely food for us. This is a special place, really cared about, to create a unique experience. We will be back and will stay longer.

Jaguar Jungle Lodge is such a great balance of accommodation and remote wilderness adventure. My Family of 4 (6 and 8 year old) stayed in one of the cabins for 5 nights. We did most of the tours and the kids swam in the local beach pretty much the rest of the time. We saw a ton of birds and wildlife on the property and on the guided hikes. The kids loved all the sea turtles on the Cano island snorkel and spinner dolphins on the boat ride out. Rob and all the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food was so good too. I highly recommend this unique experience.

Fantastic flight from San Jose to Drake Bay, then an exhilarating boat ride to the lovely Jaguars lodge and gardens. Ace staff, Jaznil, Taylor, Heather, Robert and everyone else. Very comfortable cabin. Great excursions on land and on sea, day and night. Highly recommended.

I highly recommend Jungla, with some caveats. This place is not for everyone. Given how remote it is in the jungle, there are some surprising luxuries (wifi in the main lodge, filtered water to drink, hot water for the shower, reliable electricity). But it does still have some rustic elements. There is no air conditioning, and the jungle is incredibly hot and humid so that can make sleeping difficult. Windows have screens but no glass, which keeps bigger bugs out but allows smaller bugs in. We had a lizard in our shower. If you are looking for luxury and comfort, and are squeamish about bugs and other critters, this place might not be for you (maybe the jungle isn’t for you). But if you are ok with all that, and looking to immerse yourself in Costa Rica’s remote southern jungle, this place is amazing. The views are incredible. Every room has a stunning view of the ocean and you fall asleep every night to the sound of crashing waves. The property has numerous hiking trails through the jungle for you to wander at your leisure (we saw howler monkeys and a puma on our solo hikes). Scarlet macaws and capuchin monkeys are common visitors to the property. There are two beaches that are beautiful and nice to lay out on, and a third that has great swimming (especially at sunset). After one night there I was so relaxed and felt so at home. The staff was great. The manager, Rob, was incredibly personable and helpful and I don’t know how he has the energy he has. The cook (whose name I forget) made delicious meals (we had 9 meals there and there was only one I didn’t really like; others were fantastic). But the real asset on their staff is the guide, Yasnir. We did two hikes with Yasnir: the night hike and the day trip to Corcovado. We saw nothing on the night hike (it happens), but I appreciated how hard he worked to find wildlife for us. We lucked out on the Corcovado hike as it was just the two of us and Yasnir (the day before there were 9 people with him) and we saw so much wildlife. He is engaging, enthusiastic, and incredible at spotting wildlife I surely would have missed. I appreciated his knowledge but also how much he really seemed to enjoy spending time in the jungle and finding wildlife. Overall, if you are ok giving up some luxury and accepting you will have bug bites and be very sweaty, I would highly recommend this place. My one piece of feedback: both the Corcovado day trip and the overnight only go to san Pedrillo. You can only go to Sirena on the two-night tour. I wish there had been an option for Sirena day trip.

A lovely jungle stay. Beautiful scenery for hiking the lodges paths. Gorgeous sunsets. Warm water for swimming in the sea. Delicious feasts cooked up by Hazel in the kitchen. Really yummy cocktails by Christian in the bar. We did the cano Island tour with Alfredo and Rob, it was fantastic. Honestly all the staff were locals so had tonnes of local knowledge and worked very hard.

Exceptional stay in jungle paradise! Jaguar Jungle lodge is an incredible place to stay for many reasons; the hardworking and dedicated staff team, the remoteness and beauty of the place and staying in a small, intimate lodge where you are made to feel part of the family. Eduardo was exceptional in his care for our large party of 8, making us fantastic cocktails, serving us food with a smile on his face, he made our New Years Eve with his great hospitality. We had the most wonderful day hike to Corcovado national park with Yaz as our guide, his knowledge, expertise and care for us was outstanding. We also enjoyed a fantastic night hike with Taylor leading us through the jungle seeing spiders, lizard, snakes, so exciting! We loved all the amazing wildlife around the lodge, we were lucky enough to spot a puma on the beach path on our first day! So many toucans, scarlet macaws, monkeys and whales from the shore! We would love to return one day.

Our family of 4 (with two teens) had a wonderful stay here. Even though we came in on a rainstorm, and it was a very hectic and busy time for the staff, we had a great stay Dec 28-Jan 2. Rob the manager was super helpful helping us city folks adjust to the jungle! Eduardo Miranda was always there to provide drinks and food with a smile. This is an eco lodge so its not a hotel with hotel amenities and they are remote so please research and read blogs before your stay. The wildlife right on the grounds and the private beach is what we came for . We took an expensive trip into corcovado national park with a tour company and although it was a great experience, we saw the animals right outside our doorstep at Jaguar Jungle, my husband told me we could have saved our money and just hang out at the lodge:))

Wonderful jungle experience, on the edge of Corcovado National Park and close to Cano Island. We stayed in one of the more basic rooms, but appreciated the little touches that they added to it. For example, two of the beds had little fans above them, which really cooled us down during the day and evening. The food was absolutely delicious, with our two fussy children happily eating them. The desserts were especially yummy! We saw wild animals, including monkeys, an opossum and Coatis, on the property, with a lot more seen when we went on the jungle. The night walk with Yaznir was great, we felt safe but were able to see snakes and spiders- my sons both loved seeing these! I personally preferred the mammals, which I was able to see a lot of. We did the Cano island tour twice as I live snorkelling. It is an amazing experience when you see a turtle whilst snorkelling and think- oh yeah, there’s another turtle! They were everywhere and many allowed you to get very close- within a metre and swim beside them. Each time our group was small- six one time and seven the other- much better than other tours as you are supposed to stay in the same vicinity. The visibility was great, which meant my younger son wasn’t as scared as he was when we snorkelled at Tortugera. We saw ALOT more here, colourful and varied fish, rays, eels, very small reef sharks (30cm roughly). Better than the Great Barrier Reef in Australia! Tough for me to say as an Aussie! Robert (an Englishman who is currently managing the place) was great, friendly and always available and eager to exceed expectations. As mentioned before, the chef was wonderful, made great pancakes for breakfast and made alterations as requested (specific fruit etc). They remembered our preferences (one son didn’t like banana in his morning crepe/pancake- I loved it!!) the kids were even given extra homemade 😋cookies when we went out snorkeling. Little things like this were appreciated! The overnight Corcovado trip with Yaznir was great. We always felt safe with him and he was very knowledgeable. His English was fantastic and he studied for three years before working many years here and elsewhere. He is their in house guide and staying here so guaranteed to get him is worth it! Again our group was small- just us for the two day overnight San Pedrillo and Sirena station jungle trek. We saw some other groups with around 10 people. The overnight accomodation, whilst comfortable for us, is basic- i would only recommend it for people comfortable with rough camping. In the trek we same so many things- three types of monkeys, ant eater, coutis, agoutis, tapir, frogs, a tarantular spider’s legs (coming out of its hiding spot in a tree) and a puma! All the while we felt very safe!!! Would highly recommend this lodge and the tours they offer!

We spent a couple of nights there and did the San Pedrillo overnight tour. We appreciated the dedication and hard-work of the team, especially considering this is very remote, getting there is an experience in itself. Our kids loved it too!
