We enjoyed our stay here, our cabin was right at the top of the hill which was worth it for the beautiful views. The room was great for what we needed. There was no hot water but this was fine as it was so hot outside you didn't need it! It was close to restaurants, supermarket and beach, and a lovely ice cream shop for lovely milkshakes. They helped organise the boat for us to get there and were really friendly. They don't speak much English but it was fine, and also our fault for not speaking more spanish!

The property must have the BEST VIEWS in all of Drake Bay, excellent location within walking distance of everything including restaurants, tours, grocery store, and the beach. We sat on our balcony each day and watched at least 20 pairs of green parrots take off for the day and return each evening at sunset to nest in the nearby trees. The trees were full of vibrant birds and a huge green iguana. Juan was a very helpful and friendly host, arranged all tours and transport, suggested places to eat, which beaches to walk to, anything we needed. He was very gracious and helpful and seemed available any time of day. All tours were through Picolina Tours, the neighboring business which I gave 5-star reviews. Juan also arranged our transportation to and from the airport. The rooms are very basic and clean, with a wonderful balcony. There’s not “hot” water, but it’s warm and honestly was the perfect temperature (it seems silly now, but being from cold Alaska I was actually worried about this prior to our stay). There is a public use kitchen with two fridges, which I suggest you use for any and all food. DO NOT leave food in your room or ants will be an issue. We don’t suffer from ants in Alaska so this was a learning experience for us the first night. No meals or food are provided, but there are plenty of very close restaurants and two grocery stores within a 5 minute walk. There is a nice big fan set up to cool you off while sleeping, and plenty of screened windows for a fresh breeze. You need to run the fan not only to keep cool but also as white noise for the traffic at all hours of the night. Cabinas Murillo is an EXCELLENT value and we would stay there again!

Three nights at Bahia Drake is the minimum, and Cabinas Murillo is a great place to spend it. We were in room #4 (on the west end) and had a great stay. Juan (Mr Helpful!) met us at the boat landing, grabbed our bags and had a taxi for us to get up the hill. He also arranged our taxi back to the boat landing on our departure. If you need anything, he is the one to ask. Know this- they do have a community kitchen with a nice big fridge so if you want to cook up something you have all the utensils, pots, etc. I was "on vacation" so I did not do any cooking myself, however if we were going to stay a week or so, I would definitely have taken advantage of the facilities. The fridge will also hold your 6 packs of beer, but I liked buying it every night from the local store. Cannot complain about anything here, other than we could only stay 3 nights. I think a week would be killer. Every afternoon the parrots and macaws fly in to town to roost, and the "air parade" is fun to see.

Certainly an amazing view over Bahía Drake! The staff is very friendly, and are able to book any tour you want within a day. Everything will be taking care of and they will provide you with all the information you need. The Cabinas are basic, so don’t expect the world. The balcony is the best part, spotting scarlet macaws, Toucans and numerous other birds! Beds are oke (little hard) and the bathroom is also fine (we liked the cold shower, but you have hot water as well). Cabinas are cleaned every day. Breakfast is good, and included if you book a trip. Otherwise it is $5, money well spend, available from 5 am on (convenient for early trips). There is a kitchen available for general use, including a refrigerator. We made diner there once, it had all we needed. WiFi is not available in the Cabinas, only at the reception. The cabins do not have windows, but a kind of netting. This is fine, as the temperature doesn’t require windows. The noise from the street at night can be a little annoying though. The Cabina is only fitted with a fan, which is more or less sufficient to cool the place a little down at night. We had a pleasant 5 nights here.

We stayed 5 nights at Cabinas Murillo, 3 of us in a family room. The views over Drake Bay are wonderful. Nice gardens, lots of bird life and butterflies. The rooms are very basic but reasonably comfortable. No a/c so the rooms get pretty warm. The interiors could use some work, like taping and mudding the sheetrock. Breakfasts are limited but decent at $5 a person. You have to climb a bit to get from reception to the rooms. Wifi is terrible and only available at reception. The entry area could use a lot of work to spiff it up and make it more welcoming. The staff is nice and helpful with good English spoken. All in all, as a budget accommodation, it's a pretty good place
