Lovely casa with everything you need. Jamaica was brilliant when we arrived (very) early and got our room ready for us, gave us tips on dining and tours, and left us to it. Use of kitchen meant cold beers in the fridge for a relaxing evening out front, and complimentary coffee in the morning set us up for our snorkeling trip. Hands down the best hosts you will find on your travels. Alvaro and Jamaica were fantastic. They are both a wealth of information on things to do in the area, including tips on when to go, where to park, etc. They can arrange any kind of tour or sightseeing adventure you want, and probably at lower cost than any of the resorts. The location is right at the center of everything. Less than five minutes to beach or any restaurant you want to go to, and right next to both mini supers. We even met two of the neighbors while hanging out on the porch, the salon owner next door and a new restaurant that opened up two doors down with great local food. You will have a great time if you stay here. And you will save a ton of money. They arranged a fishing trip for us with a local guide, where we got a great tour of the coast and caught a nice sized Mackerel that fed 4 of us with leftovers. Jamaica even arranged for Claudio's to prepare the fish and it was absolutely amazing. I wanted to buy a shirt reminiscent of Drake Bay before we left; Alvaro knew where to go and pointed us in the right direction. When we needed directions to the beach at Rincon San Josecito, or to the waterfall hike, our hosts were there to help. Bottom line, this is the best value and the best experience you can find. This is an amazing place to stay on the cheaper end of things. It is in the center of town, but the place was still quiet and peaceful. It is a short walk to the beach, anything you could want in town, or to the staging areas for the boats to Cano Island and Corcovado NP. Alvaro is an amazing guy who helped us in every possible way: we got our car stuck on the way in, he came and picked us up; we wanted a tour, he arranged for it; we needed a recommendation, he new everyone and what was best. The guy is phenomenal. Return trips will absolutely be to Casa Tuanis.

We wanted to bring a little bit of nature back to the fast growing village of Drake Bay. A cool and shady place where you can enjoy people and bird watching from our patio. Sit amongst the plants and have a cold one or take a nap in the airconditioned rooms after you daily excursion. Alvaro is a gem, a local tico who can help you with almost anything. The organization of transport and pick-up was perfect, everything worked out as hoped. The room was quite big and clean and the bed very comfy. I enjoyed my stay here a lot also due to the super nice host who made me feel like home in no time. He definitely knows where to go and what to do and is a great help in organizing whichever tour you're keen on doing. It is located on a street with many restaurants and a supermarket. The beach is also very close (like 5min walking). I can definitely recommend Casa Tuanis and would book it again for my next stay in Drake. Thanks Alvaro! :)

We were met from the boat by our fantastic host couple who transported us and our heavy bags up the hill to the hotel. We were greeted with an enormous, clean room with a big comfy bed and plenty of storage. The common area was comfortable and we could help ourselves to free tea and coffee anytime of the day. Our hosts were able to give us plenty of advice about the local area which really enhanced our day. They were able to book us on a Corcovado Tour and Dolphin watching tour - both of which were fantastic - and they made it really simple. The location is great, near several restaurants, the beach and shops. At the end of our stay we were again dropped by the boat with our bags! For the price, it was absolutely amazing. We wished we could have stayed longer.

The host was very nice, picked us up from the boat and dropped us off again and was all in all very helpful. The room was alright and the bathroom was new and super clean. Also the best shower we found in Costa Rica.
