Being at the farm of life for few weeks a while ago has been one of the best thing I ever did for myself. If you are interested in meeting minded people, living a healthy lifestyle and reconnecting to nature don't look further. This is the place! Everything is well thought, organic, welcoming. You will travel to beautiful places out and in! Why not treat yourself to a well deserved break?

Had an amazing time on my first visit to Costa Rica. Brian, Jody and their staff are so knowledgeable kind warm and generous. The pictures of the farm do not capture the magic you see and feel in person. It is a lovely place to reconnect with mother gaia, jungle nature and ultimately oneself. I participated in all the amenities and activities that created an epic memorable time for me. I came back grounded, peaceful and yet energized and focused on what I want to do in my life. I am most grateful for being able to stay on the farm and for the connections I made with nature myself and others. Thank you!

This is an email I wrote to friends and family while I was at Farm of Life for the first time in June 2016, when I stayed for 5 weeks. I went back for another month in July 2019, and it was just as wonderful. _________________________ Hello you, my dearest friends and fam! I'm writing you from the Diamante Valley in Costa Rica. I think most of you knew I was going out of the country, but it all happened so fast, I didn't have much time to explain. Suffice it to say that over the past year my health had taken another dive, and I was starting to feel scared. I knew I needed an intense dose of focused attention and support for my health to be restored. And trying to do that at home, in the midst of my beautiful busy family life just wasn't gonna cut it anymore. So I did a little googling for healing retreats, and up popped Farm of Life (Finca de Vida) in Costa Rica. It hooked me immediately, for so many reasons. I reached out to them, they had one cabin left for the summer, and I took it! WHY My intention has been to do a lot of physical cleansing, along with facing some deeper mental/emotional issues that have been lodged inside me for so long and (in my opinion) keeping me sick. And it's all happening. The staff here is SUPER knowledgeable and supportive, and the amount of healing going on is beyond what I could have imagined. Every day has been a little miniseries of healing miracles in jungle paradise. I hope to write more soon, but for now I'll see if I can paint a picture of what it's like just to be here. WHAT IT'S LIKE This place is incredible. I feel like a jungle queen- I am living in Jurassic Park meets Avatar meets a Room with a View. The farm is about 35 acres of lush, hilly tropical nature. The variety of living things here feels infinite: trees with leaves the size of sails, bushes, flowers, mosses, butterflies, birds, bugs, and even white-faced monkeys that came to visit us during yoga the other day! The air is so fresh and cool and moist- it almost always feels the perfect temperature to me. Every once in a while I throw on a sweater, and of course in my own little cabin I just go au naturale. :-D Speaking of natural, you can just walk around barefoot here, which I love. Look Mom, I'm Earthing! My cabin is beautiful and spacious, with walls of windows on three sides. I've been dreaming of having a little space of my own for years, and this is just beyond. The view is spectacular. It's literally a bird's-eye perspective over the valley, with the ocean barely visible beyond the mountaintops of the other side of the valley. I've got a hammock and rocking chair on the porch and two queen size beds inside, which means twice the naps! ;-) Just up the hill from my cabin is the yoga pavilion. And Lacey, the yoga teacher here, is probably the best I've ever met. She somehow manages to give each person in the class exactly what they need at that time, and everybody has a different level of experience. She also blends the physical exercise with a super calming "other-wordly" energy, and every morning by 8am I feel like a new person. Oh, and the view doesn't hurt. See attached pic. Down the hill from my cabin is a salt-water ultra-violet swimming pool (no chlorine) for laps and sunbathing, and then just beyond that is the Harvest House, the heart of the farm, where we prepare food, eat, and just hang out. There are healing herbs planted all around the Harvest House, and each afternoon Jack makes a crock-pot of very fresh herbal tea straight from the garden. I could not have special-ordered this place to be any more perfect for me. THE PEOPLE There are about 5 people on staff- the two owners (an American couple in their 40's) who started this place nine years ago. They are both super smart, reeeeeally well informed and experienced with natural health and nutrition, and super generous of heart. There are also 3 younger "volunteers" who live here for 3-12 months at a time, and they are all full of love and laughter and light. Fun, funny, open, honest and wise. Oh, and the doggies! Three beautiful huskies, all different colors, and super friendly. The other guests have been so interesting and great to be around. There was a family of four, with two teenagers, here for 3 weeks, and they just left a couple of days ago. They all have something similar to Lyme disease and came here to be immersed in a new healthy lifestyle. They were so fun, and it was especially nice for me to have them around. Last week we had two school teachers staying here. One of them has cancer, and her friend was finally able to convince her to come here and learn how to eat alkalizing foods and take care of herself better. There's a guy from the Netherlands who has colitis, and has been suffering a lot for the past two years, but is starting to feel stronger here. It's so inspiring to be around all of these other people taking great care of themselves, and it's so easy to do here. I think everybody could use a reset like this! I'll write more soon, and there is so much to tell, but for now I'll just say that being here is probably saving my life.

Brian and Jodi are incredible stewards of healing experiences. I came to Farm of Life looking for a deep reset -- I'd just quit my corporate job after relapsing with chronic Lyme disease, something I've been battling for 7 years on and off -- and this place was exactly what I needed. The pictures don't even do it justice -- it's beautifully nestled on a hillside overlooking a valley and all of the rooms have stunning views. Beyond that, the access to nutritious, raw vegan food, 100% of the time, was so huge. I enjoyed the freedom that I had during my stay -- to go on activities ever day, but also having plenty of time to rest, read, disconnect, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. I got a massage from Topher, who came a couple times during the two weeks, that was honestly life-changing -- the best massage I've ever gotten. The staff was also superb, people who are truly invested in your own healing journey and bring incredibly positive energy to the whole experience. And finally, after just two weeks of going to bed early, waking up with the sounds of the birds and howler monkeys, eating raw vegan smoothies and delicious salads, exploring the waterfalls, etc. all of my Lyme Disease symptoms had gone away. Truly amazing. Thank you Brian and Jodi for an incredible experience!

Jodi and Brian and the rest of the Farm of Life crew run a brilliant healing space. I stayed one month and was in good hands. Jodi and Brian have learned the art of business. I was interested in doing the master cleanse for general health and weight loss. When I got stuck, Jodi knew the cleanse and was able to help my identify where I needed to make adjustments. The result - I lost j18 pounds in 30 days while exercising, being active, and going on all of the outings I wanted to. The outings are excellent. One of the best is the hike to the neighbor's property where there are multiple waterfalls ripe for swimming and frolicking. In the neighborhood is Peace Falls - a nearly private waterfall with mystical qualities. The whole valley is quite mystical. The prepared meals are incredible. The morning green juice invigorating. The bungalows are comfortable and available at all price and amenity ranges, If I keep writing more I might quit my job and book another month. Go. Immerse. Walk barefoot and sun-gaze. It's worth it.
