We liked the staff, Ms Chris is AWESOME!!!! She even at one point came directly to our room to make sure that we did not need anything. My only concerns were, the pool didn't work and the rooms are dated but clean. Would defiantly stay again!!!
Nor knowing what to expect since we have never been to this area of the country, we were pleasantly satisfied. Check in was a breeze, we had questions about the area that were quickly answered. Checkin was perfect. Room was great, a bit rustic but loved the ambience. Sat on porch area and watched the sun come up every morning, we were hear three days. Nice area for walking a dog, which we had. Breakfast was so yummy every morning. No complaints here. We would definitely stay here again.
We just took a trip to Tombstone and had three king-sized rooms at this hotel booked through a 3rd party site. With a discount, we paid $138 per night, per room. I typically do not like to write bad reviews, but we gave the hotel the opportunity to make this right and they refused to refund us any money. This is what they told the 3rd party: "We spoke to the general manager of the hotel who refused to refund us anything stating that they were not informed of the poor accommodations until check-out. He said had you informed him earlier they would have been able to refund you or move you to a new room. " A couple of points here: 1. When we checked-in we were told that the hotel was completely full - so where would they have put us? We had THREE of their maybe 20 rooms. 2. When we returned to the room late in the evening, we checked and there were no other hotels with rooms open at all in Tombstone. THE GOOD: We encountered two staff at this hotel when we checked in. Both women were so very nice and accommodating. My complaints have nothing to do with them. The lobby was very clean. The location of this hotel and the views from our room were great. THE BAD: This hotel has loads of potential however it needs a super deep cleaning and professional repair. I am attaching quite a few pictures so that you can see what our legit complaints were. The swimming pool had a layer of scum and all of the chairs by the pool were old and torn. It was 98 degrees this weekend, so it was pool weather. The floors were visually nice when we came in, however it was discovered they were filthy. My daughter took her shoes off (not sandals) when she first came in and was barefoot for a few min in the room as she was unpacking, and happened to notice her feet were almost black! The picture of the towel is what came off of her feet in just a few minutes on the floor. Corners and fans were dirty. The sink had a plastic cap lodged inside the drain. Bugs in the heat lights in the bathroom. Our room had some weird insulation coming out of all of the cracks near the ceiling. Mold on the walls in the corners of the bathroom area. Cracks/holes in one of the bathrooms. Cracks in the ceilings. Dead bugs stuck in the doors. Live roaches. NOT ok. We slept with the lights on, had all of our items stacked up, and had nothing on the floor. If it had not been so late and we had not been completely exhausted we would have just gone home. We packed up immediately in the morning and spoke to the young woman at the front desk. She was sympathetic and understanding but said she could not do anything because we booked it through a 3rd party site and we would need to call and work it through them. Personally, I would not go back to this place. But hotels in this town are limited. Before anyone says "you get what you pay for" this was not a cheap room! Their pricing was in line with the other options in Tombstone. $138 with a pretty good discount! If the owner or manager is reading this - you have a potentially great property. I know that coming back from Covid is rough, but if nothing else, you need to do a super deep cleaning on each and every room on your property. Just because the property is old does not mean it has to be dirty and rundown. It does not have to be new either. Patch up the holes and cracks. Spray regularly for bugs, you can purchase industrial strength and do it yourself. Clean your pool! DO BETTER so that your business can thrive and people can have a great place to stay.…
Stay Anywhere Else!! Chris is the worst! Terrible customer service at front desk check in, grumpy during cooking of ‘breakfast’, then not releasing my pet deposit until I called two days later because it was still being held. I tried to tell her about the room being in bad condition and she said, “Don’t come back! We don’t want people like you here!” Then she hung up on me. The bathroom sink was dripping and cold water faucet didn’t work. Drain was broken. Bathtub caulking was moldy. Drywall was peeling off the walls. Toilet paper roll holder was broken.
If that’s what you need that’s what you’ll get here. But don’t count on anything much more than that. The bed was terrible, couldn’t even sit on the end of it without the top flipping coming up. Had a leaking hot water faucet, ask twice to have it fixed, never did get it fixed. Burnt out light bulb in toilet room and broken fan. Made for some dark and uncomfortable time. No washcloths, one hand towel was like it was never restocked to include an empty tissue box. In room coffee yes if you only want one cup because that’s all that was in the room. I felt like I was their employee having to ask to get just bare necessities for the room. FREE Hot breakfast, my guess is the coffee they made was what was hot, because the tiny muffins were not nor the apples. Positive note, room appeared to be clean. …
We just stayed there for a second time and absolutely love it. The place was completely booked but Cris was able find us a room and it was the same room we stay in last October. Cris does it all there, she even cooks the breakfast in the morning. She is truly an asset to the hotel. Landmark is less than 5 minutes drive to town and has a spectacular view overlooking the valley and the mountains in the distance. The staff we right there to help us with anything we needed. Thanks Cris and Landmark..
If you'd enjoy brushing your teeth in shin-deep bathtub, you'd love it here. My stay was in November 2021 and I've postponed my review to see if they would make it right. No cold water in sink and only scolding hot water which is why we had to brush teeth in bathtub that didn't drain. Housekeeping left soiled linens on beds with crumpled up blankets and linens on corner of bed. We were promised breakfast to-go because we had an early morning tour and that never happened. Manager Krishna, whom I was informed to email, to this day, has not called me. We were offered a weekend stay to 'give them another chance' but when I called to schedule, I'm told that employee no longer works there. So only after about 7 attempts to get manager Krishna to resolve this, he now banned me from the property and informed me he is telling all the other hotel proprietors about me (blacklist me). I paid over $220 to stay in this dump and then gave them not honor what was promised, regardless if the employee works there is utterly ridiculous. Don't know how they get any stars because their BBB rating is a D+. Find somewhere else to stay.…
This property is in disrepair. Due to the difficulty to find employees, I won’t comment on the service. This is an old worn-out property, and I would think twice before staying even one night. The beds are very hard, our bathroom sink did not have hot water, our shower never stopped leaking, the "hot" breakfast is all but nonexistent, even coffee is hard to come by. The WIFI is so intermittent it is useless. the pool was not operable, I don't know if it will be in the future.
From moment we tried to check in it was rude and controlling people. While they do offer breakfast the dude with pony tail yells at you for moving a chair, can’t take what they call coffee to room. Cool yells and be littles “customers” for standing too close or not close enough and even told man in front. Well you all are our customers and that’s why we have jobs. She and others have no perception of their language. Rooms are old, old thread bare towel, pool is empty except for green water. We would recommend other hotels in town and skip this one
Our room was ok but the bed was lumpy, toilet ran over and you have to pay for breakfast which was terrible and the dining area was dingy and dark. Coffee was cold, they cook to order but only srambled eggs, no meat, burned potatoes all for $5. Pet friendly with $25 charge per pet. Check in was a hassle and they hold $150 on a debt card for any damages that may occur (bolgna) I don't see how this place has a high rating at best its a 2 or less. But it is close to Tombstone thats the only thing I can say good about it. Oh and pool is closed and a sign says they don't know when it will be opened again. Pictures on their site are very deceiving probably taken years ago. This is a 3 story hotel so if you can't walk up stairs make sure you let them know when you book.
