I like staycations in Phoenix and try to stay at a different hotel each time. The MOXY was a new one I knew nothing about. But it advertised a good summer special; so I tried it out...and loved it. I will caution that it is not for everyone. Marriott reward folks used to staying at places like the JW in Phoenix might be in for a shock. But if you like modern decor and great customer service..try the MOXY! Everything about it is different. The check-in desk is a bar and you can relax with a drink right away. The lobby is really a play room with video arcade games, foosball or other games. You have a choice of keycards or electronic opening for your room. The rooms are eclectic. Mine was adorned with a woman's face that took up most of a wall, an old-fashioned phone, wooden hooks on the wall instead of a closet. My room had a big flat screen TV, a super comfortable king bed, and a balcony facing the pool. The pool was a nice size and well-kept, though like most hotels in Arizona, it could use more shade! There is a daily happy hour with a plentiful selection of beers and special cocktails. There's a limited lunch and dinner menu at the bar. The customer service was great with a young, enthusiastic, and fun staff. The cost is reasonable and it is within easy access of ASU and everything going on in the college town of Tempe.

The excellent service began even before I arrived to the hotel; the complimentary Uber from the airport arranged by the front desk team was a unique and unexpected surprise after a long day. Upon arrival I was greeted warmly by Craig who checked me in quickly and offered me a complimentary cocktail while he explained all of the great amenities the hotel had to offer. The bed was extremely comfortable and the décor was vibrant and fun. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Tempe, it was definitely a memorable experience.

I went for a business trip and find a place to chill in between responsibilities. Charming place - nice people - great bar and play area and more than decent gym. I loved the relaxation by the pool and would certainly recommend folks to go there. I loved having a ground level room accessible to the pool as well

Ended up here as it was close to where my seminar would be the next day. Picked the place as being admittedly “different” and it certainly was, in very good ways. The place is definitely targeted to a specific modern client base. The lobby looks like a cooperative work space and I saw a few groups of people grabbing space in a corner to talk. You check in to the hotel at the bar and you can have a welcome in drink or snack for free. I had the Moxy cocktail and it was very good with a real maraschino cherry and a nice mix of flavors. You can choose a glass of wine or beer instead. The rooms look like loft apartments with plenty of plywood, galvanized metal, and rolling barn door accents. I loved the love sack chair in the room that you could just flop onto and sink in. Minimalist furniture was still comfortable. Something about the plywood box night stand with built in plugs and USB ports was really all you need. Real glass drinking glasses in the room was nice as a buddy came by with a bottle he brought back from a trip. Bed was comfortable even if the pillows were a bit firm. You could literally see how they did not change shape while stacked on each other on the bed. Great shower but no bathtub in this room. You do not have your own iron but there is a group ironing room down the hall you can use while sitting in a comfy chair and drinking some coffee. I would happily come back - this is much better than the Embassy Suites it used to be.

Spent 3 nights here last month. Very nice location, and good service. The rooms are interestingly decorated. To some they may not appeal, but I didn't mind one way or another. It is an older hotel that has been remodeled. Our room was skipped by housekeeping one day, and almost skipped again but finally got someone from the front desk to take care of it that second time. That, and the hallway noise that can be heard from the room were the only negatives. Nice pool, close restaurants, and fairly easy access to everything are the pluses. Would I recommend - yes. Will we stay again, probably not but only because there are so many nice places to choose from.
