Detailed Reviews

Loutraki is a very small town/village, known for the hot water springs with water temperature of 36 degrees Celsius and outdoor pools especially recommended for people with bone aches. The nature surrounding the pools and the hotel is very calm and magnificent, with running mountain rivers, tall forest trees and steep cliffs.
The hotel itself is at around 3km distance from the pools and you would need a car to get there, but it is one charming place made out of stone and covered with long green creepers that gives it an old fortress look. The sound of the water from the river flowing next to the hotel is constant and gives unique experience for the clients staying in it. It can be heard from every open window in Almopia. There is a dinning and coffee room in the hotel, as well as covered grill space in the garden, that can be used throughout the day. The hotel serves only as bed & breakfast. Worth to give it a try! :)

My family loves hotel Almopia and we keep coming back. It is worth a visit during any season as the climate is mild and the hot mineral pools near the hotel can be used all year round. The place is family run and the owners are very hospitable always ready to help whatever you need. The nature around the hotel is unique - the majestic cliffs, the flowing river the trees and the greenery - they all create the atmosphere of peace and quiet. The place is very spiritual as it is near a spring and a little church of St Nikolas and you can literally feel the magic in the air.
The hotel is clad with stone and covered in greenery and flowers. There are no two rooms alike - all of them are boutique made - some have fireplaces and overlook the river, others have open air terraces with wonderful panorama over the valley.
There are also big common dining rooms where breakfast is served or you can prepare your own food. They are very cosy with fireplaces and panorama view.
The hotel is in the outskirts of the village. From it you can easily reach the mineral swimming pools (but you need a car), the tavernas in the village or the famous Edessa waterfalls which are definitely worth a visit.
The prices are just great for what you get! I definitely recommend it.
