We stayed here once before and loved it. As a result we returned for our anniversary, but we're disappointed. Check in took nearly 40 minutes-official check in was understaffed, but there were people on hand to open doors and offer water. It would have been better to have staff checking you in faster. We then got to our room which was standard lovely, but not very clean. Especially the bathroom. To add to this, the concierge called at 7:45 am to thank us for staying with them. While I was up, my husband was not. Allowing him to wake up on his own was one of the reasons for staying here- peace and quiet. This was a rude and totally unnecessary addition. While still beautifully kept grounds and a great location, we will shop around for a hotel for our next Sedona get away.

Hotel's Favorite
I had stayed at the resort can years ago and loved it. It has changed ownership and just gotten even nicer. Activities for the entire family were enjoyed by us all. Our unit was impeccably clean, service provided By a polite staff and accommodating at every turn.

Our room (309) looked like it was an unused staff quarters, very basic and parts looked poorly constructed/thought out, the bed uncomfortable, and oh the shower... It was set up for ADA, but the window had a stair set running next to it and no privacy glass so anyone could look in. To top that off the bathroom had hints of a sewer smell, and looked dirty. It was late, we called the front staff and were told they were at 100% capacity. I get it that things happen, but to have the desk staff insincerely as us “what don’t you like about the room”, in a thinly veiled attempt to care, is a bit ridiculous considering a review was just left in MAY detailing the same issues in the same room! To compound the problem the desk staff is in serious need of hospitality training. Interrupting, talking over, and becoming defensive are not good customer service qualities. The staff needs to head out to that room, have a look, and ask themselves that question (keep in context you guys use the word resort in your name AND charge a resort fee). Hopefully this saves someone else from a bad experience!

My wife and I spent a week at Los Abrigados on a points exchange through RCI. First of all, the location of the resort could not be better! You are only steps away from shopping and restaurants galore, and maybe a quarter mile from the 'uptown' activity center of Sedona. The resort is very large with a one-way drive surrounding it. Parking can be in short supply during busy periods, but we were never really inconvenienced by how far we had to park from our unit. Spa services, a gym, pool, etc. were all available. Our 1 BR ground-level suite was comfortable but a little dated. All the required kitchen appliances, etc. were functional and there is a laundry facility on-site. The king-size bed was lovely, as was the queen-size sleeper sofa (we used both). Staff were friendly and accomodating, but beware the sales tactics of the concierge staff! In fact, our ONLY complaint was that the concierge was so busy trying to 'reward' us for attending a sales presentation that he forgot to mention that the winery tour we booked did not include the cost of wine tastings at four different stops. Overall, an excellent week!!
