More and more as we travel, it's the people more than the place that make an experience memorable. Cathedral Hideaway has both exceptional people -- owner/operators Kathy and Larry -- and an amazing place. We've never had such warm, attentive care. Set aside a half hour for checking in to review the breakfast menu book (extensive), talk about local hikes and Sedona lore, and get tips on where to eat and shop. We stayed in the Safari suite upstairs, which has vast picture windows looking out to Cathedral Rock and beyond. The suite is spacious and comfortable, with a private balcony. The house itself is large, full of artwork, including Kathy's professional quality photos. The breakfast food is delicious. So nice to sit outside all by ourselves watching the hummingbirds and enjoying the scenery. It's quiet and set back from the road, yet only 15-20 minutes to the town of Sedona. Go!

Where to even start....this is THE perfect B&B....and I mean ANYWHERE! Kathy and Larry are such a sweet, friendly and lovely couple who do everything they can to make you feel at home. The Casita has enough food to feed an army, breakfast at the B & B, your home for however long you choose to stay, is literally anything you want. And perfectly cooked and presented. There is ice cream in the freezer for whatever time you fancy a dish, chocolates waiting on the counter, purified water from their well that's as good as any bottled water you could buy and instant hot water from their solar panels. And all this with one of the best views in Arizona, or the USA! Our room/suite was huge with a balcony from where we enjoyed stargazing and a fire as well as a whirlpool bath and the comfiest adjustable bed! But best of all, you feel at home here. What a wonderful stay we had with this sweet and enchanting couple. We will be back!

Response from Kathy Jaeckel, Owner at Sedona Cathedral Hideaway B&B and Casita
Responded Mar 30, 2022
How sweet you are. We truly enjoy having "Happy, Well Adjusted, Honest People" like yourselves stay with us. I put that in quotes because we always tell people that. When we opened up 17 years ago, I put an energy bubble over the house with the words, "Only happy, well adjusted, honest people can enter". We thought that would assure us of always enjoying the people who came here. And it obviously has worked. Thank you so much for your kind and loving words. We look forward to seeing you again. May the road rise up to meet you and the wind be always at your back. Kathy and Larry

This was my husband's and I first experience with a B&B. It was a wonderful experience in Sedona. The owners are a lovely couple who go out of their way to make you feel at home right away. The scenery was breathtaking of Cathedral Rock. Breakfast was worth waiting for each morning. You are in for a real treat!!

My recent week at this beautiful bed and breakfast was outstanding in many ways. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, well appointed and maintained. I stayed in the main house first floor room, which had a fireplace, shower, jetted tub, and many other amenities. It opened onto a deck overlooking a lovely fountain, with a marvelous view of Cathedral Rock. A short walk led to the nearby Crescent park where I was able to walk onto a natural, red rock formation next to a beautiful creek. So close to the actual Cathedral Rock, it appeared I could reach out and touch it. The location of this B&B is convenient for exploring the surrounding Sedona area without being in the middle of the considerable traffic. In fact, after the first few days of exploring the many famous rock formations I was content to relax on the property to enjoy the incredible views and relaxing environment. The hosts, Kathy and Larry are extremely caring and kind people. Living in the area for approximately 20 years, they are a wealth of information on Sedona and what it has to offer. Recommendations for restaurants, hiking, local guides, anything really you could imagine. Their breakfast offerings are both delicious and healthy. I was given a well organized notebook with a wealth of information of the area, as well as pictures of their food. Attention to details was second to none I’ve ever experienced in my travels to date. If Sedona is on your list to visit, I highly recommend this beautiful place to stay.

Love Kathy and Larry! They are wonderful and their B&B is in a very quiet, relaxing and intimate location… with magnificent views of cathedral rock! The B&B is exactly what we wanted… a place with exceptional hosts, magnificent views, wonderful breakfast… a place nestled far away from the crowds (but close enough to go to town when necessary) which allowed us to relax, take in the day views as well as the night sky with little light pollution. We stayed in the Safari Room which was very peaceful and romantic. We truly enjoyed our stay and will visit again.

Larry and Kathy were absolutely amazing. They let’s us pick our own breakfast from multiple options and they customized it to our request. Kathy provided us with many options of things to do in Sedona. We were made to feel at home. The view of Cathedral Rock is the best view in town. This is absolutely the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed at. Don’t miss this opportunity.

Larry and Kathy were absolutely excellent hosts! The room is great, the breakfasts are amazing and they are super nice people! This was our first bed and breakfast stay anywhere, and they made it a great experience. Kathy gave us great ideas on where to go for anything we needed, and great hiking advice. We would recommend this place to anyone! Thanks for the memories

Where to begin? There are not enough words to describe what a wonderful experience Sedona Hideaway was. From the moment we arrived the warmth and kindness of Kathy and Larry were very evident. Although we have been to Sedona over 25 times through the years their level of knowledge about hiking trails, restaurants, and things to do in the area helped us to find a few new adventures. There are no words to describe the gourmet breakfast that was prepared for us every morning. We could pick out of dozens of items or request something else. Kathy and Larry would make it happen! Try one of Kathy's famous smoothies or Larry's special breakfast pizza. You won't be disappointed! We were lucky enough to be the only guests for our 3 nights and enjoyed interacting with both of them for quite awhile. They are 2 of the kindest people and really cared about guests having an unsurpassed experience. The rooms are awesome! They have thought of everything from a hot tub and fireplace to huge windows to view Cathedral Rock to a massive shower with 2 shower heads. Because it is a very dark area at night staring at the stars were a special treat and looked like a painting. I don't often review things but I would be remiss not to let people know about this special place run by special people. Our time there wasn't long enough and we will be back. Thank you Kathy and Larry for making it such a special experience. We came as strangers but truly felt like we left as friends! Until next time....

We have stayed at B&Bs for decades, and without a doubt Sedona Cathedral Hideaway is our new favorite. Hosts Kathy and Larry made us feel at home from the moment we walked into their beautiful, dynamic residence, which is nestled among the dramatic red rocks just outside the city limits of Sedona. Our hosts took pride in their made-to-order breakfasts, which were nothing short of works of food art. (Try Kathy’s Special and Larry’s Creation.) Our spacious upstairs suite, which looks directly at the iconic Cathedral Rock, had everything we needed and more. We especially enjoyed the three-sided fireplace, daily snacks, comfy Sleep Number bed, large jetted tub and a roomy bathroom with a huge dual-nozzle shower in which Larry jokingly told us, “You can have no more than eight people in there.” Aside from all the amenities, what made our 8-day stay so delightful were our hosts, whose humor, thoughtfulness, spot-on recommendations and stimulating conversations set them apart from other B&B owners. As avid hikers, we appreciated our hosts’ advice on where to trek and we were pleased that some of the hikes were nearby. Oh, one more bonus: We loved being serenaded by the coyotes. We hated to leave and look forward to returning to this splendid B&B.

My husband and I just returned after a wonderful stay at the casita. It is right next door to the B&B, so you have esy access to the very nice owners, Kathy and Larry. The casita was incredibly clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked with cookware and great appliances. The owners were so kind to leave starter food for breakfast, coffee, juice, ice cream, etc. It was nice to not have to run out to the grocery store the first day we arrived. Kathy was very welcoming and met us upon arrival to give a tour of the casita and gave great pointers for different hiking trails, restaurants, and activities. The casita is looking directly at Cathedral Rock and the views are amazing. We enjoyed drinking coffee each moring just gazing at the outdoors. Sunset was also a perfect time to enjoy a glass of wine on the deck. The casita is located abiut 15 minutes from the main Sedona downtown, but we found that to be a plus. It was nice to come home and relax away from the crowds. There are plenty of grocery stores and restaurants within 5 -10 minutes of the casista. The bed was super comfortable. It was great to have a washer and dryer to do the laundry after hiking on some muddy trails. Kathy and Larry are very nice and were helpful on more than one occassion. I got a pretty bad sunburn one day. Kathy saw it and immediatley brought me a soothing aloe gel to use that was perfect (she has a skin care line called Superior Skin Secrets!). Our truck had a dead battery one morning and Larry was kind enough to give us a jump start that literally saved our day- so much apprecaited. I am already planning on returning with a group of friends and would anticpate stayng in the casita again as well as the two rooms available in the B&B itself. Thank you again for a wonderful stay! Sedona is amazing and so is this special hideaway. Kirsten W
