Tucked away in a quiet corner of Sedona, the El Portal is an overlooked gem in Sedona. The décor is the real deal when it comes to the Southwest. The owners and staff are very helpful, but not intrusive. The patio/courtyard, is beautiful and with the evening fire, is a great place to unwind after a full day of Sedona... More

I wouldn't necessarily call this a luxury setting, it is nice and it is comfortable. The suite was quite large and the architecture was done well, our only comment is there is a lack of drawer space to unpack to. The set up of the hotel is a bit odd with the part time staff leaving the hotel unattended after... More

From the moment we pulled in to the driveway, we knew El Portal was something out of the ordinary. The lush grounds and landscaping are spectacular (the website does not do it justice). Vines cascading off of the roof line and over entry ways, riots of color in whiskey barrels, unique cactus and ornamental plantings. Most rooms have windows overlooking... More

We were extremely pleased with the overall ambiance and service from the staff that we experienced while staying at the El Portal in mid-June. The room was very comfortable and homey. The breakfast was good value and extremely tasty! We also enjoyed sitting on the patio in the courtyard in the evenings by the crackling fire and enjoying the stars.... More

Portal Lane enters Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Center on the north side of the Center, from Highway 179. El Portal Sedona is on the north side of the Lane, directly across from Tlaquepaque. I do not know that I could explain "Arts & Crafts" but I do know I love the homey feelilng it gives me. Each room (12 of... More

We traveled with our 2 Labradors and had the best experience at El Portal! Our room had an enclosed back patio that the dogs loved. The room was excellent, beautiful, comfortable and unique. The entire property was awesome. The dogs were welcome in the dining room. I can't say enough good things about El Portal; we will be back!

My friends and I travel each year together. This May, we selected the El Portal Sedona Hotel based on information provided on their website. The hotel and rooms were charming, however, the suite that two of us stayed in (Governors' Suite) needed some attention. There were cob webs in the corners and there were cracks in the walls. However, this... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, we appreciate all. We're sorry you did not enjoy your time at El Portal Sedona Hotel. We apologize for the confusion regarding the coffee charge...most of our registered guests come and get coffee in the morning well before sitting down to breakfast. El Portal is a wonderful place to stay in Sedona -two thumbs way up! It has the charm of a great B&B, and is located within walking distance of many of the prime shopping and eating establishments. Its inner courtyard is delightful - a great place to rest between hikes (and meals). And if you are really lucky, you may... More

We explored Sedona for 3 nights along with our pet labrador dog and could not have found a more relaxing and luxurious accommodation than El Portal. Terry met us after our 12 hour drive and could not have been more helpful and friendly- we really enjoyed visiting with her over those days. Our room #3, was very spacious and looked... More

My wife and I very much enjoyed our two-night stay at El Portal. We were in the Navajo room (as I recall its name) -- spacious, beautifully appointed, with a fabulous bathroom. I loved the whirlpool tub, my wife loved the huge tiled shower, and we both loved the large countertop with two sinks. Only nitpick complaint: The lighting in... More
