We are a family of 4 & took a whirlwind trip of AZ for our Spring Break. My husband & I had high expectations of this resort due to a recommendation of friends. We were disappointed. We didn't get our room until an hour passed check in time. Considering this, we were "upgraded"; I'm still not sure what was upgraded...

LindaS1971, Sorry to hear that we did not live up to the expectations, that is disappointing. Getting in your room after check-in is frustrating especially after a long day of traveling. The pool and hot tub are a great place to unwind, relax, and take in the incredible views before enjoying wine hour at 5pm. The views of the creek...

The location of the hotel is great for being downtown. They have a van you can take to shuttle around town. Such a beautiful place to be and tranquil. The staff all seemed very nice from my experience. The room we had only had a balcony you could stand on which was a bummer, but I'm not mad about that....

LauraC, Thank you for sharing your experience. Location, Location, Location. .. Close enough to the uptown shops and restaurants but away from the hustle and bustle with incredible views. The shuttle is great way to get around anywhere within a mile of the property. The beds are incredible and allow for the much needed rest after exploring the beauty of...

You would think that by reserving a "patio room" you would be getting a room with a patio, right? Not at Amara "Resort." When I inquired at the front desk why my patio room doesn't have a patio, I was told that all the second floor rooms are called patio rooms, even though they don't have patios. Okay. I asked...

Bob B, Thank you for sharing your experience and nice comments about the staff. I’m sorry we didn’t honor your request or offer for you to move rooms and instead made it more confusing for you. We will certainly use this as a learning opportunity with the team. Warm regards, Patrick Gaskin General Manager

We spent 3 nights here during our spring break trip with our 9 and 7 year-old daughters. I think the hotel (I have a hard time calling it a resort) would be okay for adults, but it wasn't really geared toward families. The room was a tight fit for 4 people and had only 2 small drawers for clothes. 3...

AmyFK, Thank you for sharing your feedback. I am sorry to hear that we didn’t make you or your children feel at home. We had several opportunities to do so and just didn’t make it happen and clearly missed the mark (crayons and coloring books, welcome gift at check-in, board games, and children’s movies all things we have but never...

Had everything we've come to expect from Kimpton - a nicer, contemporary hotel with generally helpful staff. It was a good price in a convenient location, and a helpful shuttle and valet. Very nice view with a nice hike along the river. A few things that disappointed us though: We had to call twice to ask for a crib, and...

Drsteph1, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and helpful feedback. We appreciate your Kimpton loyalty and trying out the newest addition to the family. The property will receive a face lift this upcoming summer and you will see that Kimpton flare in the décor as well as addressing the mobility of getting around the property. My...

This is so conveniently located to Uptown Sedona, you are right in the middle of all the action. Just a short walk up the hill and you are right in the midst of all the shops and restaurants. The views by the pool are spectacular and the grounds are very pretty. We especially liked the pool area, although the pool...

I love the property, with great views and restaurants nearby. You get peace and quiet from Oak Creek, but yet, close to all the action. The resort is seeing wear (still in very good condition) but it is going through reno in the coming year. The service is very good and I got the stuff I wanted when asked. Love...

The Amara is a very nice hotel... That is if you can get the right room to stay in. There are these doors that connect different parts of the building together. Many people tend to walk through these doors, sometimes late at night. If at all possible, try to get a room away from the door. We stayed here for...

The Amara has many good things going for it, but doesn't quite make it as excellent. Don't expect much of a red rock view, even if you are supposedly getting a room with a view. It's kind of like the hotels with an ocean view that you can only see by looking between the buildings. I know it's easier to...
