Detailed Reviews
We visited for two nights on the way home after a week in Scottsdale. We booked a two bedroom, which is actually a one bedroom plus a studio... just unlock the adjoining door. The room is well kept but some items are outdated. Very clean though. Apparently all the rooms with a view were reserved by timeshare owners. We have a quiet couple above us thankfully. The pool staff is managing social distancing nicely. You will be assigned (with your input) chairs by the pool. Stay in your area or in the pool and masks can be removed. BYO non glass drinks (none served). Only negative is we arrived at 1:30 hoping for an early checkin - it was nap time for our 1 year old and they hand nothing ready. Said they would try to rush it but over 1.5 hours later only one side of our room was ready and still no crib. Made for a rough traditional day. Location is great. Check out The Vault for a great meal in a stylish restaurant.

Our trip consisted of 6 people so we got the 2 bedroom. Basically it was the 1 bedroom suite and regular suite combined with a door separating the 2 rooms. This worked out perfect it was very nice, clean, roomy with a good size kitchen & large fridge. Both rooms had an outdoor seating area, we had 2 restrooms each with double sink, the smaller room also had a sink, small fridge, microwave & couch. Plenty of plates, dishes, cups, utensils.
The Hyatt has the best red rocks views and is located in the best spot. You can walk to all of the shops, markets, places to eat, stores etc. The pool area takes covid precautions, limiting it to about 40 people at a time, they basically give you a 2 hour limit (If there are people waiting to get in) if not then you will have no time limit. We went every day to the pool and there was never an issue. I saw the staff constantly disinfecting and cleaning lounge chairs, tables, swapping out towels etc.
Very peaceful area, it does give you a condo vibe, plenty of good parking. I was only asked about their time share once and that was during check in at the front desk, other than that we never had a need to go to the front desk so we were never bothered with that.
Another plus is that Slide Rock National Park is just about 15 minutes away from the Hyatt. Overall great place to stay, the best in regards to location.

Last time my friend and I stayed here was 2 years ago. Not much has changed. We had a one bedroom suite with a full kitchen. Decor is the same, needs to be updated. If you are concerned about Covid Business/Hotel rules being followed, yes they all were. Hand sanitizer stations barriers set up, masks worn by all employees.
Our suite was fairly clean but I myself have always been in the habit of wiping down any where I stay. The kitchen is great to have, good appliances. Seeing that this was a stay-cation for us we brought food to make breakfast and snacks plus cocktails. Keep in mind because of Covid, house keeping is not available during your stay and the rec. center is closed. There is limited pool time, only 40 guest around the pool at a time, first come fist serve. When it reaches 40 you go on a wait-list that you can only signup for in the pool area. Same goes for hot tubs, you have to make an appointment for the 2 hot tubs available. Natalie was in charge of organizing pool reservation and cleaning spots after use while we were there. She did a fantastic job.
We stayed 2 nights, the bed mattress was horrible, like sleeping on rocks. My friend brought it to Kerrie's attention the next morning (front desk) and our mattress was immediately changed to a new mattress. Thank you Kerrie.

BEWARE…this is not a hotel…it’s an apartment complex that uses the HYATT name…you will get no help with your luggage…your room will not be cleaned daily and your bed will not be made.
The rooms are dark…a few have a view…rooms are hard to get to,usually through 2 flights of stairs.
The Staff is not very friendly.

We did a timeshare exchange to stay at this property and had a 2 BR unit. We were in building 16, which was quite far from the pool. We just drove and parked over closer to the pool the days we went there. With capacity restrictions due to Covid, use of the pool was limited to 40 people for a 2 hour window. If people were not waiting to use the pool, you could stay beyond 2 hours. We never had to wait to get into the pool and were able to stay as long as we wanted to each time we used it during our week there. They also provided cold bottled waters at the pool upon request.
We made a reservation for the BBQ area one evening to grill our dinner. They delivered grill tools to our room a few minutes before our scheduled time. Grill was already fired up and ready to go.
The unit itself was spacious for our family of 4. The fully equipped kitchen has very little storage for any groceries we bought, but it was fine. There is also a small kitchenette in the lockoff portion (small fridge, bar sized sink, and microwave). Both the master bedroom and the lockoff bedroom in our unit had king sized beds. There were two pull-out sofas (one in the living room and one in the lockoff bedroom). There were two patios. The one off the living room/master bedroom was quite nice. But we didn't use it much as the weather was quite hot during our stay. We did see a couple of wild boars from our patio one morning, and there were so many birds hopping from tree to tree that we fun to watch.
Due to Covid restrictions, other amenities were closed: fire pits, fitness center, kids club...so I cannot comment on those.
All in all a great stay! The staff was very friendly and helpful.

This Hyatt is in a great location in Sedona, probably the best you can ask for in terms of being near most anything-right off of the traffic circle in the center. You can walk to many places within the area, which we liked. The pool is really nice and boasts probably the best view you can ask for. There are enough chairs and always had plenty of towels available. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is the room. We had a one bedroom master. First of all, we were placed in the absolute furthest point in the resort, up a hill and then down another and then down a ton of stairs. Not great for walking into town or going to the pool, because we were exhausted by the time we got to where we were going. Also, we didn't have any kind of view (full disclosure, we didn't pay for any kind of view, but we were literally looking at the back of the local post office from our deck. And the mail trucks get there at like 5 am apparently, so all you can hear at 5am is the reversal alarms on the trucks backing in-really annoying. The resort wasn't anywhere near full, so I am not sure why they put us back there. The last day, they were doing a ton of work on the buildings, I believe changing out all of the HVAC units, so it was cumbersome and parking was an issue with all of the work trucks down there. The rooms were spacious and had everything we needed-loved having a washer and dryer to use. The only complaint in the rooms is that the lighting is really weak. It was terrible in the bathroom and bedroom. Seems like a silly complaint, but our whole family was complaining about how weird the lighting was. You can tell that they are short staffed, like everywhere else in the country. They didn't have any maid service while we stayed, which isn't a big issue for us. But it is worth noting. When you don't have clean towels or cloths, at least you have a washer to use!

Excellent place that checked every box for us. We stayed in a 2 bedroom which had more than enough space for 2 adults and 2 kids. The full kitchen and washer/dryer were great since we cooked most of our meals and brought food from home. Pool was clean, friendly staff and good policies for social distancing. Each lounge chair was sanitized between use. Spread out resort with not too many guests let us relax. Unlike other resorts, they were very clear about their Covid guidelines and followed through. We had a wonderful time.

We were happy we rented a one bedroom with fireplace, kitchen, and balcony instead of going cheaper and getting just the studio. It was perfect for 2, with king bed, double sinks in the bathroom, both a shower and a large whirlpool tub, a small kitchen, a great large balcony with a table that seated four and parking was close to our entry.
This complex sits on a sidehill above central downtown Sedona, and there are also shops and a couple casual restaurants alongside the property also on the hill. The location means that you will have to walk down flights of stairs on the hill to get to town level, or exit the rear of the property and walk downhill on a street, but either direction if you don't mind a short walk you really don't need a car to get to lots of shops and several restaurants on the main street.
The central clubhouse has a gym/locker room/pool/hot tubs/outdoor fire pit all were was very nice and attended by an employee most of the time to get pool towels etc.
We did have one maintenance issue (a blocked bathroom toilet) upon arrival and it took several phone calls to the front desk and over 24 hours to get it fixed (we shouldn't have had to call more than once!).
It is up to you if you elect to go through the welcome presentation which is pushed hard upon check-in, but we didn't feel it was any benefit and takes time away from exploring.
Would I stay here again- Yes

We spent a week at this resort. I requested a higher room with a view, but was told that these were reserved for their timeshare owners. This is reasonable, but the resort did not seem to be at full capacity during our stay. Our ground floor unit was gotten to by walking up a hill on a sidewalk and then down stairs to get to the unit. Our view was of the roadway where parking was located with a small bit of the red rock hills in the distance.
The room was clean. The bed very comfortable. The living room furniture was a bit uncomfortable and several in our party had to place bed pillows behind our backs to be more comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes. There was one frying pan, but it was not a nonstick pan. Materials in the room said to call for a nonstick pan. We did and it was delivered very timely. We also had to call for foam pillows since the beds had feather pillows.
The rooms are rather dark as lighting is very poor. You cannot stream from your mobile devices to the TV which seemed very outdated for a resort like Hyatt.
The pool area has a beautiful view of the red rock formations. The pool personnel did a great job of sanitizing the chairs making you feel safe.
The ease of walking to the downtown shops and restaurants were a plus with my wife. Overall, our stay was very enjoyable.

My daughter was getting married in Sedona. My husband and I typically stay at Marriott hotels, but decided to try the Hyatt after seeing what amenities the website offered. After booking the reservation we called to make sure that we were going to get the type of room we paid for; jacuzzi tub, fireplace and a view. We were told that all the rooms had a fireplace, but they could not guarantee a jacuzzi tub or view. We expressed our concern because we chose to pay $200 more per night for what was advertised, but were then told there wasn’t a guarantee. They told us we could call back closer to our arrival date and request these amenities because they do not assign rooms until a couple of days before arrival. We did end up getting the amenities we had hoped for, however the rest of the room was a huge disappointment! The safe wouldn’t work, we called the front desk and they had no clue about it, they said they would have someone call us back, they did and we did what they said, but the safe still never worked. All of the furniture was very uncomfortable! The bed was very hard and both of us woke up several times throughout the night and were stiff and sore from the bed. The hotel really needs to update everything, and with what they charge they should be able to afford it! Every time I went to open the dresser drawer, the drawer pull came off in my hand. The TV in the bedroom was tiny, didn’t pull out very far and made it difficult to watch because it was off to one side of the bed. The TV in the living room was so low that you looked down on it and there was a place above it for a TV that was empty. The staff was pretty mediocre. We were bring our luggage in at the same time an employee was going into the hotel, but instead of him holding the door for us, I ended up holding the door for him; which I thought was very rude. The view, jacuzzi tub and fireplace were the best part of this hotel, but I would never waste money like that on it again! Marriott’s staff is always very warm and welcoming and the Hyatt’s objective was just to get you to sign up to come to their seminar. They don’t wait until after your stay, they make you talk to someone as soon as you get your room key and before you can even go to your room. If anyone is considering staying here, I would suggest looking at other options before getting locked into this hotel. It’s not worth what you pay!

I'm going to say more then likely, yes. I typically visit in the summer months, but with the nice weather at that time of year, I'm sure the staff will be there to assist you.
Thank you for your inquiry. It is permitted on the patio, but the door to the villa must be closed. Please speak with the front desk upon arrival if you have additional questions, and we look forward to welcoming you.
It would be cool/cold. There is tons of great hiking and the town of Sedona is very fun to explore.
