My favorite place on earth! As soon as you enter the resort, it's like a peaceful Oasis away from the busyness of Sedona. Great location in Oak Creek Canyon- you are close to both the town of Sedona as well as Flagstaff. Each cabin is cozy, unique and beautiful! The family who owns the resort is so kind and welcoming. Highly highly recommend Forest Houses Resort!

We’ve been coming here for many years, a gem of upper oak creek with stone and wooden cabins along the creek and near AB Young trail. Dog friendly and family owned and operated! View house, Rock House, Trout House are favorites but any house available is the way to go!

We stayed in the 'Treehouse' cabin. Was very nice not as secluded as we like but plenty of room; kitchen was great to cook dinner in, with decks both front and back of cabin. Front desk was helpful in answering questions. Cabin was older but clean! Sedona is breathtaking and we would gladly stay here again!

We stay for three nights every October with our friends and their young kids. We (husband and I) stay in the Overlook and they stay in the Oak House. The cabins everything you need to make meals with the appropriate utensils, pans, a stove, microwave, coffee maker, fridge, grill. We kept the windows open all night as you can hear Oak Creek (which is below you), so peaceful. The owner/everyone who works there is so amazing, you can tell they take pride in their resort and are always willing to answer the 100s of questions we have! (What tree is this? Where does that path go? Etc). We can’t wait to go back!

I'm reluctant to give a review because I want to keep this as my own secret place. It is that wonderful! Granted, this place may not be for everyone. There is no internet or television and your cell phone will not likely work here. But if the idea of relaxing in a rustic but comfortable beautiful setting disconnected from the web and pull of modern life appeals to you, then get ready to enjoy the time of your life! My wife and I spent our honeymoon here ten years ago. We went back for our 5th anniversary and now we have just returned from our 10th anniversary trip. We would go more often, but we live over a thousand miles away. We stayed for four days this time and only left the resort one time for a drive up to Flagstaff. This resort has been owned and operated by the same family for over 70 years. They are immensely friendly, kind, and helpful! I can't say enough about them or this beautiful property. Go and enjoy, but let's keep it our secret!

Stayed at Chalet cabin. Comfortable sleep number bed in bedroom and comfy day bed in living area. Everything you need for a peaceful getaway. Bring some good books. No internet or WiFi. Bob and Jenny were quick to respond to questions. Beautiful property.

Forest Houses Resort is an amazing place. We stayed in the Oak House cabin located right next to the office. We check in late around 8pm, but I spoke to Bob to arrange a late check in. Luckily we arrived just before 8pm, so Bob was still at the office. Bob was kind to turn the heat and lights on in the cabin prior to our arrival so that we wouldn't be walking into a dark cold cabin. Once inside the cabin we were all impressed. On the first floor as soon as you step into the cabin is the kitchen followed by the dinning area. The first floor is an open floor plan so the kitchen looks right into the living area and beyond that a wall of windows to the the outside patio. In the living room there's a huge fire places which continues upstairs to the to the fireplace in the master bedroom. The hallway outside of the master bedroom leads to the only bathroom with tub and shower for the cabin. Past the bathroom is the second bedroom which has 2 twin beds. Just outside the bathroom, the hallway opens up to a loft with a table and 3 chairs along with a sitting area with 2 rocking chairs. The bathroom has it's own heater apart from the main one from the cabin. The 2nd bedroom also has it's own heater. We stayed in middle of May but the weather was colder than usual for May and the main heater was enough for all the rooms and the bathroom. The bathroom also has a blow dryer. And the kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook and eat. We didn't walk around the grounds of the resort too much but from what we did walk it was beautiful and well maintained. I definitely plan on coming back again. Tip: You pretty much have to book a year in advance especially if you have a particular cabin in mind.

My husband and I come here every year for 8 days. It is a wonderful place, a rustic gorgeous get away. No A/C but we have never been hot here. The houses are each unique and charming. The views are lovely. We love the family-owned atmosphere and the natural atmosphere (no TVs or room service), but great fun at incredibly reasonable prices. We enjoy the owners. It is not a Hilton and we are glad for that. We find it quite comfy to sleep, eat and relax here. There’s nothing else like it in Sedona.

My man and I recently stayed at these cabins for tbe second time. We first stayed in September 2017 and had such a great time, we had to go back. They are so cozy and relaxing. Each cabin is unique in design. We stayed at the Trout house in 2017. It's directly on the creek and the views of the creek are right outside your window and patio. With a rock fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, confortable patio, one bedroom with a deck access overlooking the creek you have everything you need for a relaxing and stress free stay. Most recently we stayed in the Rock house which is also on the creek with a beautiful creek view from your deck and an extended large patio. It has 2 bedrooms, a rock fireplace, full kitchen and cozy living room with beautiful picture window and rock fireplace. This cabin is tri level with steps leading from the living room to kitchen and then steps to the bedroom. It has a very cool look and feel to it. I feel the Trout house gives you that up close creek feeling more which we liked better and it's a little more private but the Rock house by design is so cool inside. So now to pick which cabin we want to stay in next time. Staying here has become a tradition for us.

This place is really amazing! Located in a picturesque set up along the Oak creek and a just 10 minutes drive from beautiful Sedona. Having completely disconnected with the digital world (i.e. no phone signal, no internet, no telly etc.) was an added advantage for a peaceful relaxation. Highly recommended.
