At this place you get what you pay for, like anywhere else lots of pros and cons. I spent 4 nights here. I’d like to point out to NOT EXPECT a room with a fireplace as pictured in their photos. This is a motel-ranch style property and each building only have 1 room with a fireplace from what I observed. The fireplace was something I wanted and big reason I booked here other than location and price. It was a holiday weekend and fully booked so I did not luck out; was told to ask again in the morning. When we asked in the morning, they told us they wouldn’t allow us to change rooms because it would be “too much of burden on housekeeping”. We found that to be a very interesting excuse since there is no daily housekeeping service to your room WHATSOEVER during the pandemic. If there was more hotel availability in the area, I would’ve left and gone elsewhere. Our room was updated and decent; bathroom was very small and shower head/water pressure was weak. Drawers and cabinets in vanity area do not open so storage was limited to dressers only. Small dining table with chairs in the room which was good for us who only do takeout food during the pandemic. I’ll end with a summary the pros: scenic location, close to a beautiful hiking trail with even more special views and affordable prices. If you want more amenities stay somewhere else.…
We came up from Phoenix for a little get away and were amazed by the friedly, cozy, family feel to this lodge. Everyone was friendly there, We had a four year old boy who got up early and would love to take walks around the grounds. He got to feed the Koi fish, he loved the pool. The gardens and decoration all around were beautiful. It's a hidden treasure and we'll definitely be going back our next stay up in Sedona.
We had a lovely 2-night stay at this lodge with a gorgeous view of the red rocks. Our room had a fireplace (which we did not use) and an outdoor deck where we could sit and enjoy the view. The room itself was good but unremarkable. There was a sink, small fridge and a microwave. The cabinet was stocked with dishware and even 2 wine glasses! Free wi-fi. The shower had an overhead shower head so you should be prepared to get your hair wet or do some contortions to keep your hair dry. The staff is very friendly and helpful. You will meet a kitty cat in training who lolls around the registration area and will enjoy your petting. The lodge is about 2 blocks away from the Airport Mesa Grill and some good food - especially the fried chicken on the lunch menu. I was very comfortable here and expect to return someday when I revisit Arizona.…
We definitely expected more from the lodge at such a price point and with so many good reviews. However the reality was not that spotless. If I am to describe the hotel in one word, it would be dated: the room, carpet, furniture, bathroom, kitchen nook. All of it does require some serious face tune. There is active remodeling of several buildings on the premises, so hopefully they will renovate it all eventually, as the location is perfect and the views are to die for. In the meantime, an improved maintenance routine could help bridge the gap. Our room had a big wet spot on the carpet of unknown origin. We found a charger from a previous guest on the floor, it seems that the room was not properly cleaned, which is alarming during a pandemic. Bathroom sink was not draining well... The big plus of the hotel is its location: the whole city and the valley are right in front of you. Too pricey for such a dated property though. I would stay away until it is fully remodeled.…
I booked this room based on the many good reviews here at Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. Itis located on the west side of Sedona which was a blessing as traffic on the east side was a nightmare. The Sky Ranch Lodge was a welcome, peaceful retreat. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by two young gentlemen. They could not have been more friendly and helpful. New to the area, they suggested good local places to eat and things to do. When we got to our room, we were blown away by the view!! I will attach a picture so you can see. It was gorgeous. There was a spacious deck out back with chairs and a small table so we could sit out there and enjoy the beautiful view. The room was modern and tasteful and had a small fridge and microwave along with a nice tv and a small table and two chairs for eating. It was perfect and clean. It was December so I did not bring my swimsuit. But I wish I had as the hot tub was open. There is also hot coffee and hot chocolate available in the office. I do not know whose idea it was to add the outdoor wine bar but it was genius!! In the evenings, the wine bar opens on a beautiful patio, with jazz music playing. There are patio heaters there and gorgeous plants. The bartender was a great guy and we spent every night out there socializing (distantly) and playing cards. It was so nice to have a place to gather that was not in the room. There is nothing wrong with the room at all, but it was great to have a place to go to enjoy the night sky. The employees at Sky Ranch Lodge consistently went above and beyond in customer service. Need something? Just ask and they will make it happen. I remarked to my husband that the place had a very homey, family feel. That is, you felt at home there because the employees made it so. We just loved it and were sorry to leave. They also have a young, orange kitten in the front office (named Tigger) that is a bit of a celebrity. People were taking pictures with this little guy and stopping by the front office just to see him. This is just another example of that homey feel I was talking about. The property is also next to the Airport Mesa trail so you can hike right from the property. We spent a few hours doing that and highly recommend. We will definitely be back and would not even consider staying anywhere else.…
