Overall, a complete rip off. I was there with 3 friends who are incredibly well traveled and stay at hotels every month if not more due to our jobs and this was BY FAR the biggest waste of $ any of us have ever spent. Our rooms were obviously rooms for people recovering from surgery, very awkward and overlooking the staff trash. Our heat/air didn’t work and when we called to try to get help, we were told it would “take a very long time to get someone to assist” so we said never mind. Our showerhead sprayed all over the bathroom and was a mess. We paid a “resort fee” for what? A decrepit gym, meals that took hours, a pretty terrible chakra lecture, valet who couldn’t give us a ride at any point during our stay as they were “too busy with other guests”. If our room was $350, I would expect this type of experience, but we paid close to $3k for each room (2 nights) which is absolutely appalling. Clearly the hotel is very short staffed with individuals who didn’t know the area, the restaurant menu or the caliber of clients who pay $1200 per night for a hotel room. My friends and I are in our mid 40s, we all own businesses and travel often, this was the worst hotel experience any of us have ever had for this price. …
L'Auberge Sedona has been one of my favorite places to stay. I have been coming here for years, and when my dog was alive and traveled with me - they were really good to her. They welcomed her by name and always had her favorites in our cottage. The staff, the grounds, the cottages and rooms, the spa and the restaurant and bar - are all 5 star. I Love coming here for some downtime and to recharge! Classy and kind - I love the personal service and attention versus snoody boody attitudes you get at some resorts in Scottsdale. Absolute luxury. Bonus - you can walk up the back way to the town and get some great exercise to the shops, cafes, bars.... and fun in town!
This property is truly magnificent! Our cottage was creek side and the views were beautiful! The river was running very hard due to recent rains but only added to the beauty! The staff is fantastic! Breakfast delicious! Only caution is everything is priced extremely high. $42 for 2 margaritas! The location is perfect to walk up a hill / driveway to all the shops!
We had the most amazing experience at LAuberge de Sedona . The vista suite cottages have the most beautiful views. Every single person you encounter is courteous, helpful and welcoming. Julie the concierge helped plan the trip. Even the lady on the phone who made the bookings was friendly. On-site everything was perfect- the front desk, inn room dining staff, housekeeping, the engineer who came to attend to a hand shower , the folks at the on-site restaurant. Jason, Cheyenne , Keith served us at the restaurant and were very nice. The accommodations are luxurious, food is great and the shuttle service to nearby restaurants is super helpful. Everyone on the shuttle service was great. We would highly recommend LAuberge de Sedona. It is conveniently located as well.
Top notch experience. We relaxed the moment we arrived and hated to leave. Car service to take you around town was so convenient. Julie helped us book a tour last minute with Andy that turned out to be incredible. Two bedroom room with kids was spacious and comfortable. Fire each night was wonderful!
We had a lot of expectations as we often stay at 5 star resorts and hotels. the service level at the hotel was poor and the food was B minus. The menu is limited and repeated for the most parts of the day. Their main course cooking of fish and hamburgers was meeting our expectations only 60% of the time. rooms were not cleaned up properly and dirty food was left in the room. overall it should be considered as a 4 star resort and not 5 star. Obviously does not justify the room price
This hotel definitely needs a LOT of TLC. The creek is a beautiful touch and the location is nice but other than that it doesn’t have much going for it. Attention to detail is missing, nothing over the top to acknowledge, outdoor construction was happening making them most valuable part of the stay inaccesible. I was there to celebrate my anniversary and NOT one extra or special touch. The price of the room was outrageous and I truly feel that the value did not meet the price. Extremely disappointed to say the least. Thank God Sedona is as beautiful & magical as it is….it masked the disappoint of the lodging.
Unfortunately, this place is somewhere i would not brag to my friends. The staff has no idea what's going on, your best option is the front desk. If you ask any of the staff for help, they will say idk and leave you to figure it out. Why as the customer, do i have to chase for answers? Especially when I'm paying all this money. When it's this expensive, i want staff to go above and beyond and find the answer for me, not leave me hanging like a chicken with its head cut off
We celebrated part of our honeymoon in Sedona 25 years ago. Our return was magnificent, primarily due to L'Auberge!. Everything is a 10+ with this place! We loved our room, which was a cottage along the creek, the staff was over the top and a joy to talk with, everything was wonderful!!!! we will be back!!!!
L'Auberge de Sedona is a place I wanted and expected to love. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. First, some context. We have traveled widely--to 62 countries--and stayed in a variety of places from cheapo roadside motels to many Four Seasons, Auberge, Mandarin, Penninsula, and boutique properties in the US and abroad. We have paid high prices for a premium experience numerous times, but more commonly enjoy less expensive places that give good value. We stayed at L'Auberge de Sedona (not affiliated with the Auberge group of hotels that spun off from Four Seasons) in early March 2023 as part of an anniversary getaway to the Southwest. The L'Auberge de Sedona was our premium stop where we planned to stay for several days and relax while hiking, shopping, and dining in Sedona. The property is beautifully situated along Oak Creek in upper Sedona, at Bear Wallow Canyon. The views of the surrounding red rock buttes are wonderful. It offers traditional hotel rooms, as well as creekside and hillside cottages. We booked a four-night stay in a creekside cottage, the resort's most expensive room. We paid over $1000 per night, arranged through American Express Travel. The biggest problem L'Auberge de Sedona presents is that its pricing is misaligned with the overall experience it provides. Some examples: 1. Our bellman urinated in our toilet while we took care of check-in. When we arrived at the cottage, he mentioned that we were earlier than he expected, and there was a fresh toilet boil full of foamy urine. Not a great start. 2. The creekside deck of our cottage was very dirty and covered in twigs and leaves. The deck chairs and tables were not assembled. We arranged chairs and placed the cushions together ourselves, but the deck was never cleaned or swept. 3. Many of the furnishings were soiled or worn. Upholstered chairs in the bungalow were spotted and worn out. The shower area was unclean, with mildew or other spotting on the ceiling. Rugs were threadbare on the edges. The glass fireplace screen was broken. 4. Other reviewers have mentioned it, but the on-property restaurant is ridiculously--even obscenely--priced. A small bowl of oatmeal is $16. If you want half of a sliced banana on top, another $6. Oatmeal with bananas is thus $22. Coffee or juice? $10. Eggs Benedict is $27. How about a side of bacon? That'll run you $10, which is $2.50 per slice. Maybe, just maybe, if the servings were huge and the quality of ingredients and preparation off the charts, you could possibly justify these prices as a rare indulgence, but unfortunately, the servings are actually relatively small to average, and the food is nice, but by no means extraordinary. A routine breakfast for two with tip and tax is easily $100. As I said at the outset, the property's setting is beautiful, the small fitness center is nice, the landscaping is well-maintained, and the pool and small hot tub are fine too. The maid service was very good. The valets were attentive with our car. Other than the spa and restaurant, all tips are included. If the pricing were half as much, or even a bit less, you'd feel okay. But it's priced for perfection, and far from perfect. You can do better elsewhere in Sedona. …
