Nestled in an ideal location, the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess captivates guests with its enchanting atmosphere and a plethora of amenities, including heated pools and a luxurious spa, which are frequently lauded by many travelers. However, some visitors caution that the value may fall short of expectations due to high costs and additional fees. While the staff's attentiveness garners appreciation, experiences with room quality show a stark contrast—ranging from lavish comfort to disappointing upkeep. The hotel's overall cleanliness generally receives high marks, contributing to the sense of a premium stay.

I stayed at the Fairmont Princess for about a week in the Privado casitas. I can’t believe how wonderful everything was. The staff were especially amazing. A few minor examples of staff that went way above and beyond 1) Everyone was so friendly, seemed to remember us despite how large the resort is 2) The grounds are very large (multiple pools) and it was so easy if we weren’t up for walking to get golf cart rides wherever we wanted to go - by such friendly staff 3) The staff in the welcome center (concierges and food service staff went way above and beyond EVERY day. 4) My most amazing staff encounter was from the bar/server at the Princess pool when I realized I left my Apple Pencil at the Privado/casita pool - offered to and DID go all the way to the other pool - a hefty walk and retrieved it for me, and even teased me that it wasn’t there and promptly produced my device - which saved me over $100 5) Shanna (who I referred to as the queen because of her queenly wave) and how helpful she was 6) and Bradley (Samoan heritage) who nicely guided us back to our room when we got a little turned around on one of our walks 7) and everyone at the Privado welcome center

The pools were amazing. We only visited 3 of them, but they were great. Nice beverages and snacks at the princess pools. Plenty of room, busier on weekends. Rooms were amazing, anything we needed was made available to us (like a microwave to heat up our leftovers), extra pillows, etc. The restaurants were great - we ate at all of them on site with the exception of bourbon steak. Toro was amazing with the drum-beat music, great lighting and fire show (luckily the performer had a wing man to watch for her safety. We loved the outside bar with the great lighting. The lighting was extra amazing as they were getting ready for Christmas at the Princess. There were a lot of set up vehicles and staff for that preparation, but nothing that got in the way since everyone was soooo accommodating.

I highly recommend this hotel - ALWAYS goes above and beyond

The holiday lights and fun holiday activities made our stay for several days at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess wonderful. With extensive decorations throughout the entire hotel property, we spent every night visiting different holiday areas. The train ride that runs throughout the property provided an easy way to see many of the lights and areas we wanted to visit when walking around.

The Gold Floor section on the hotel property provided a restful, quiet area away from the evening light shows and music. The Fairmont Princess Gold staff provided excellent service in the lounge and helping with restaurant and other reservations. All Gold staff members were very helpful in answering questions and making recommendations so our stay was memorable. The morning breakfast and afternoon canapes in the lounge are very nice. Gold team members really focused on providing Great Customer Service!

The Plaza Bar was an excellent location for food and beverages plus experiencing the evening light shows and festive music. Servers provided great recommendations for beverages and food.

With all the holiday lights and attractions throughout the Fairmont Princess property, guests really do not need to leave the property. The different style restaurants and bars also provided excellent options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We really enjoyed the golf carts hotel staff use to transport guests around the property throughout the day and evening. We look forward to returning again.

LOVED this stay!!! Fairmont hotels are fabulous and this one hit all the marks. I was there for a work conference and upgraded to a Gold Room. I am a huge fan of the lounges at the club level in hotels like this and food all day is included, as well as available wine and cocktails. I got a Fairmont Gold Junior suite and it was devine. Very good size, has a living room and bedroom that have a partial wall to separate them. Two tv's one for each room, sofa, and good sized table that is high enough to use as a desk or dining table as well. Nice exterior balcony with chairs. Lots of windows and light. There is a small fridge with bottled water which can also be used for your own items which is really nice. A very nice coffee and tea service with a Nespresso machine and really nice teas. Nice glassware, no plastic or paper cups here which is nice. The bed is so comfy!! I got great rest. My favorite item in the room is the HUGE soaking tub, complete with bath salts refilled daily and a bath caddy so you can read or watch your tablet tv in the tub, which I did every night. Separate shower as well and private toilet closet. 2 sinks with lots of conter space and a supply of soaps, lotions, lighted makeup mirror, qtips and even lip balm. Huge closet with a steamer, iron and safe. Comfy robes and slippers in room as well. Had a fabulous stay. The grounds are gorgeous and there are lots of walking trails, pools and activities. The spa is devine!! Separate review posted. Restaurants on the property are many and fabulous as well.

I did not stay at the hotel, so this is a review only of the event Christmas at the Princess. This is obscenely overpriced and sorely under delivers. The website says tickets are $35 but when you checkout it's $35 + 5. It's a nominal amount, but this is deceptive pricing and indicative of the rest of our experience. The event itself is spread out way too much especially for small children. We spent so much time trying to navigate that the only things we could do before the kiddos tuckered out were the farris wheel, s'mores and the train. We started off with $8 hot cocoas that tasted and looked like brown water. Not even a marshmallow or a shot of whipped cream. How cheap can you be??? I also ordered a peppermint mocha (alcholic) for $15 from the bar and it was watery and terrible. It was basically just terrible coffee. The packet of s'more was a whopping $40 for one packet of graham crackers and a bag of marshmallows with a tiny piece of chocolate inside the marshmallow. There were no napkins or any way to clean up after the s'mores, so we all spent the rest of the night with sticky hands. Just bring your own s'mores and hot cocoa (and wet wipes) to the event, they don't check your bags. Valet parking is $120 if you buy in advance and $130 day of. I don't know who on earth thinks this is okay?? It's truly absurd. We ate at one of the restaurants to get free valet parking. The valets were very friendly and speedy. All the staff in general were very friendly and helpful, so no fault of theirs whatsoever. But who ever is in charge of this event is charging luxury prices for an experience that is was extremely disappointing.

We booked our trip through Costco Travel. We had many options of rooms which we chose the Sunset Signature Room. Very misleading. We had the sunset but we looked out to a parking lot with porta potties. We did have the option to upgrade for $50/night but felt like we had already paid enough for the hotel with no extra amenities. The nice thing about booking with Costco Travel was the resort fee was included. After reading what the resort fee included, I am glad we didn't have to pay that in addition to the room. Offering local & long distance phone calls is obsolete. Everyone carries a cell phone so this is not a benefit. Was disappointed by the ability to have someone drive us to our room which was on the far end of the property. My husband & I don't mind walking but when we returned back to the resort on Tuesday night in the rain and there were two carts with drivers and neither of them greeted us or asked us if we needed a ride, I was very disappointed. The other thing that was disappointing was the lack of room service. I realize we had the option to have you service the room everyday if we asked, but why should we have to ask when we are paying $600+/night. Ever since Covid, hotels have stopped doing daily cleanings. I understood it back in 2020-2021 but not in 2024. This is a cost cutting measure and unacceptable for a resort of this caliber. I feel like we got caught up with all of the preparation of the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Employees were focused on getting things set up and not focused on customer service. On a positive note, we had dinner at La Hacienda on Sunday evening and we had the best food and service. Our server could not have been any better. Great food and drink recommendations along with good service. This is a beautiful property with a lot of potential but if you want to be a high end resort you need to treat your customers with exceptional service.

This is an excellent resort to relax and unwind from your daily routine. Unfortunately, I was there for a conference, so I was unable to enjoy the resorts many amenities and activities. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The staff make sure that the rooms are kept clean and well maintained. The beds are very comfortable and clean. The room also has a beverage fridge and another small fridge that you can use. The room also provides a coffee maker with very tasty coffee and tea. They tend to fill them up when they clean the room. Additionally, they also provide complimentary water. The bathroom is very clean and provides the basic amenities such as body wash, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion which I think are very good quality compared to the ones provided by some other hotels. overall, this resort is an excellent place to spend a weekend relaxing. However, this resort also has some downsides. The restaurants in the hotel close at 9pm and the only place you can eat after that is the Plaza Bar. The food at these restaurants is quite overpriced. So be prepared to pay a quite bit for a decent meal. However, the food itself is very tasty. The room service prices are quite expensive too. On top of the food prices, they also put extra charges to the service. Therefore, it can become very expensive. Another downside to this hotel is that it is located quite far from local restaurants and shops. Therefore, if you do not have a car, you will either have to take an Uber or be forced to eat at the onsite restaurants. Another issue I saw was that there are very limited choice Restautant's for you to eat if you are there with your kids. Overall, this is an excellent resort, and it can be recommended to anyone.

We have been visiting this hotel for years and are completely disappointed in how the level of service has declined. From the front desk staff to the housekeeping staff the service standards have declined so much. We travel with a very large group of conference attendees and have shared experiences unfortunately. Every single day, after leaving our room at 8am and arriving back around 4pm the room has not been serviced. This is unacceptable that they skip the rooms for guests that are staying multiple nights. Every morning we leave the room and see them on the floor either next door or a couple of doors down, assuming they will clean our room but every day we get back and we have been skipped. Every single time the front desk states that we must have had the do not disturb sign up, which obviously isn't true. Eventually, after calling, they send someone up to bring more towels and straighten the bed. Also, the hallways of the hotel are very tired looking and are in need of maintenance due to scraped paint and chipped stucco. The guest rooms appear recently updated but the common areas do not. Lastly, I remember the days when the hotel staff were required to wear uniforms, the girls at the front desk have nose piercings and seem to wear whatever they want. The level of standards at the Fairmont has sadly collapsed.

We have stayed at the Princess several times before for their Christmas and Halloween (fall) events. This was, by far, the most sub-par stay we have experienced. The quality of our room was average at best (curtains coming down, the room was so stuffy that we had to open the patio door during the middle of the night, and the amenities for the Christmas event that were stated to be in the room, missing). But the Christmas event itself was abhorrent compared to years past. Ice skating used to be included for the event for overnite guests, no longer, and that was an additional $80 plus fees for our 2 teens. When I payed over $500 a nite for a basic room, I expected that to be included, especially since it has been before. The event was over crowded, the prices crazy, even for resort event standards- and don’t even get me started on the $100 entry fee for “Aurora Ice;” literally a refrigerated room with a few ice sculptures that you are ushered through. Even the employees felt badly for people and said they wished they could let people know after I told them it was the worst $100 I had ever spent. I felt hoodwinked for sure- and for no reason. We spent plenty of money on $16 cocktails, and $7 canned cokes, $21 pretzels and $6 chocolate chip cookies. To then ask more of overnite guests seems insane and insincere. We won’t be back- there are other outstanding resorts in Scottsdale.

Did not get what we paid for. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and the pools were perfect. However, we had many small issues during our stay. Felt we were being nickel and dimed (was charged a $32 receiving fee just to have my 6 month old’s diapers sent to the hotel via Amazon and was told it would be an additional fee to have them brought to the room. I stumbled in 100 degree heat to carry the boxes myself and then was told by a staff member to walk in the wrong direction to our room). The bathroom sink in our room was clogged. The poolside service was awful - we waited over an hour for our food and when our order arrived many items were missing/wrong. Housekeeping never showed to clean our room and then claimed it was because we had the privacy sign on the door, when the sign had been removed for over 6 hours. We had a nice time but the resort is not the 5 star caliber it is supposed to be. We wouldn’t stay here again when there are so many other nice hotels in the area to try.

We were fortunate enough to use points for our one night stay. The customer service was great! Everyone was very kind a greeted us right away. However, the room and pool were not quite as pleasant as we had hoped. We have a lot of grace with how hot it was when we arrived, however, the room was 78 degrees when we arrived and was i my able to cool down to 74 by the time we left. Sleeping was not quite comfortable for any of us and we don’t have too high of expectations.
Also, my kids looked forward to being in the pool all day while we drove to Arizona. When they were able to get into the pool at 8:30 p.m., the pool felt warmer than the 100 degree temp outside. We waved it off due to how hot it was that day. However, the next morning when they went to the pool, they felt the cool water jets in the pool that were cooling it off. The evening before there was definitely capabilities to cool the water down that were just not being used.
All very much first world problems, but for the amount to stay at this very highly rated hotel, we felt there could have been extra measures taken to make guests feel more comfortable in such a hot environment.
Also, the bathroom in the room had one handle that was too hard and stiff to turn and one sink that kept flooding and not draining.
Again, all things that should be handles for the price being paid to stay there.
The grounds are beautiful and staff was absolutely lovely! Just little maintenance items that would have made our stay amazing.
