We did a girls trip to Scottsdale Arizona. First time and definitely not last! We had 3 rooms at the Hilton Scottsdale Resort & Villas. Very clean resort with friendly staff and a great pool. Restaurant was closed but their pool bar is open daily. Plenty of places within walking distance. Highly recommend this Resort!
5 Nights in November. Room on third floor was clean, comfortable well maintained and even had the kettle I requested prior to arrival. Front desk staff were cheerful and helpful. Hotel was at 30% occupancy and so no restaurant (Covid) but pool bar was open so, after working on laptop in morning each day, I had lunch by tables at near pool under palm trees. Having taken away from local places (AJ"s is great). Ample towels by pool and water from reception vs poolside (Covid). Not a large pool (No waterslides and such) but suited my needs being quieter. Location cannot be faulted for Scottsdale amenities. Although I had car, I Ubered to restaurants and cost was never more than 10 mins in any direction and under $10. John Ault the property manager was a cheery , uplifting figure when on his rounds. Even holding doors open to his own staff. This suits couples and older crowd vs large families if you want everything on site. I'll return.…
The staff at the hotel were very accommodating and friendly. I give a shout out to Doug in Engineering, he was wonderful. He tried hard to get our devise to work on the TV and kept getting called out, we told him to go since the TV really was not his problem. He came back about an hour later to see if he could continue to help. He really went above and beyond. The hotel itself is outdated and a bit dingy. There was some drywall in the halls that needed to be addressed from a leak, our tub dripped, the drain was clogged and all of the light fixtures in the hallways were dusty. For the price we paid and considering this was a Hilton we were expecting a bit more for out money.
stayed 1 night in 2 rooms. Told them we are paying cash. They took our card saying they wont charge it but needed it on file. They not only charged it for both rooms but they also took our cash. Refunded only 1 room. They stated they dont show the card being charged on their side but the bank stated they received both payments and they processed on their end the return of the 1 room. We were told by the manager to call our bank and file a claim. So we have to wait potentially 14 days to get our money back and the hotel couldn't care less by the converstions had. Choose another hotel. They are clearly incompetent here.
One-night stay for business. When I checked in, the agent at the desk said, "There is no food whatsoever on the property. And our resort fee is $30." I didn't bother asking about breakfast or room upgrades typically afforded to diamond-level members. Not a great start. The room itself was decent, though it looked as if some furniture was missing. At least it was clean, and mostly quiet. The WiFi was down for the first day, so I could not get any work accomplished. At around midnight, I went outside and noticed that the side doors to the property were left wide open. I did not sleep well knowing that the hotel was so careless. I went a polite but clear email to the hotel: I am concerned about safety and security. I also mentioned that they could have informed me in advance (web site, email) that they had no food. I also think it is disingenuous if not fraudulent to charge a resort fee for services that are unavailable (the only resort amenity that was open and available was the swimming pool.) There were so few guests that this was an opportunity to provide great service. Why not say, "Unfortunately we do not have food here, but here is a list of nearby restaurants." Or, "It is concerning that the side doors were left open, we will address this." Or, "I'm sorry this stay didn't work out, but we hope to see you again." No. No response at all. Not even a pathetic, generic email. This property does not live up to Hilton standards, and it is surrounded by fine hotels. Until they clean up their act, I advise travellers to stay elsewhere.…
