Way over priced for a 500$ US per night room, lousy overpriced restaurant choices, not a great location. Not an active door man for a high end resort style hotel.Nice bar / lounge area with entertainment but that’s about it. Will not stay here again, we actually left and went to

Great property in Scottsdale with lots to do nearby. Was a great place to stay when we were in town for a collector car auction. Tons of dining and drinking possibilities nearby. Kids on the trip really enjoyed the whole pool/outdoor area.

Sorry for my late answer didn't get the email notice - yes the pools run all the time there.

I'm sure you could show them around some areas of the resort but pool access requires a room key. Also, the pool area is posted at these locked gates with signs saying no outside food or beverages allowed in the pool area - they want you to purchase anything to eat or drink from the pool bar. Unfortunately, the hours the pool bar service is open doesn't cover much of the day. Opens after 10:00 (not sure when), and closes at 5:00. They do have water stations in the pool area.

Is the golf course right at the hotel?
Yes it is. Walk right out the back of the hotel past the pools. Beautiful!

Are the restaurants expensive? And if not, which would you recommend?
The Southwest Grill in the Hotel is affordable but drinks in the entertainment area with music can be pricey. There are many options 2 or 3 blocks away in The Shops at Gainey Ranch within walking distance of the hotel. Sprouts is a healthy grocery store with a little cafe for breakfast or lunch. We also like the the Tavern Grill*, Pomo for Pizza, Chez Nous, and Soi4 for Thai food.
