What a wonderful hotel property that offers the unexpected! The El Dorado Scottsdale is a hidden hospitality gem in a neighborhood that is walking distance to Old Town Scottsdale, art galleries, museums, restaurants and the Scottsdale Trolley. Upon arrival, we discovered a spacious room that had a fabulous retro feel with a living area, dining room, kitchenette, master bedroom and...

When I booked this hotel, the reviews were mixed. I did not know what to expect! When we arrived four hours before check-in time, I fully expected to leave my luggage at the front and return. The front desk immediately accommodated us. Our room was a two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite with a kitchen and living room. The rooms were quaint and...

Different, but nice. Very convenient to the restaurants and the ballpark, especially with the abundant golf-cart taxi's and the fat tired beach cruiser bicycles one can borrow. More of a 70's garden apartment vibe than a motel; heightened with bright accent colors and bits of whimsy. Nice pool with shaded and sunny areas. Its actually a converted apartment complex, in...

I thought this place was great. Spacious rooms that were former apartments. Great central courtyard. Reasonable prices. Excellent location. Very cool hipster vibe. I would definitely go back. That said, if you are a picky traveler who likes fancy hotels, this may not be the place for you.

Shower water was lukewarm one morning. Bed was old and uncomfortable. Rooms need updating. There was mold at the top of the ceiling of the bathroom. Bathroom and bedroom walls were painted at two different times with different shades of paint, made it took poorly taken of. Kitchen was complete in the deluxe suite. Furniture was fine. They were very...

Overall not bad. Clean, kind of a cool retro vibe and a friendly staff. Resort fee was 39.00 for a really marginal internet connection and access to pool etc. In all fairness, this place is not a resort and the jacuzzi was warm but no jets. I would return only in a pinch.

I barely know where to start with this place. We chose this place based on the photos on line. Spoke with a receptionist at the "resort", and was told these were converted apartments. Sounded interesting, maybe even enticing. When we arrived, we couldn't believe we had paid for this place. It's a converted apartment building only in the sense that...

At El Dorado, there's a lot to like. Huge rooms, that are converted 1, 2 or 3 bedroom apartments with separate living areas, full kitchens and halls to the bedrooms. A fantastic "play" area with a big pool, bocce ball, grills, sun beds, multiple TVs, cabanas and several fire pits. Bikes. A cute little lobby bar with craft brews, wine...
