My family and I stayed here for two nights. Check in was easy, and the first day was overall good. The second night there was a fire alarm and building evacuation at 9pm. After about 30 minutes everyone was able to come back inside, but no explanations were given to guests. The staff have a double standard when it comes to enforcing Covid restrictions. When you are in the resort there are security guards constantly walking around asking people to put on masks. Every associate at every store and restaurant will also ask you to out on a mask. Very consistent. But if you go in the water park, the rules are that a mask must be worn unless you are entering the water. But no one enforces it...at all. It's like walking through a time machine to 2019. In the resort, mask police everywhere, go through some doors and not a mask in sight except for employees. At one point we saw a security guard with his mask only over his mouth and I reminded him that per the signs posted around the resort he needs to wear his mask properly. He got really upset with me and proceeded to follow me around and argue with me. Come to find out he actually called the police to have me removed. Luckily it did not come to that as the head of security agreed that the security officer was out of line and not justified in reaction to me just asking him to maintain the standard that he is paid to enforce. Overall this time was not a great experience. This was our 3rd (and probably last) time visiting this resort and this time we splurged for the largest room offered. Disappointing considering how much we paid for the room.

This place packs people into their water park like sardines. No masks as they represent a drowning hazard. Yet as soon as you step one foot from the water park to the hotel lobby all of a sudden COVID reappears and they treat you like a biohazard if you don't have a mask on. I was walking in the lobby at 630am, not a person in sight, and an employee comes running and screaming at me about a pandemic and I need a mask. This is over a year into the pandemic. Really? Just a few hours ago I was in a line shoulder to shoulder with about 100 people to get on a waterslide not a mask in sight. Give me a break.

When you are checking in, do not fall for any of the gimmick up-sales. They are very sneaky and misleading in the presentations. If you are going there to have fun at the waterpark, stick to just that. If you want to do all of the other nonsense, go for it, but bring an extra $500. Oh, and bring tennis shoes, because you will need them for almost every event except for the waterpark. Sadly, the amazing waterpark is tainted with gross understaffing and extremely poor management. The lines could be three times as fast if they didn’t have just ONE person running three stations at the top of the slides. It was so sad to watch. I felt bad for the staff. If you’re going to spend the night there, keep in mind that lots of little kids are there, and the floors are not very thick. There were two kids in the room above us running around and jumping off the bed until just after midnight. Excellent waterpark, but they will not get another dime of my money until they fire their management and have enough staff to run the park.

I am very upset with Great Wolf Lodge Arizona. We have had our trip planned well over 6 months. A month before our check in date they canceled our plans. We have a loge group with 7 rooms all traveling from out of state. Great Wolf Lodge sent us a tax message today telling us we need to move our dates. I was so mad I called, we were told a lie at first when we got to the bottom of it, we come to find out that someone more important then us had rented out the hotel. one month before we are supposed to be there! How unprofessional is this. You do not treat other customers like they do not matter. We have flight plans that are none refundable. Family member's and friends are all traveling to celebrate my sons birthday and my husbands. We are not going to be okay with it and just book another hotel. This is what my son wanted for his birthday. What am I supposed to tell him now. His birthday is canceled because of his favorite hotel ruined it. We have been repenting customer's and this will be the last for our whole group. This is the worst customer service at any hotel I have ever been to, as I am a hotel/restaurant blogger.

My 3 year old got stung by a bee at the outside pool. The outdoor pool is plagued by bees so watch out! But the heat outdoors is necessary when you have blue lipped and shivering toddlers, the air difference between the water and the air indoors can be chilling especially to little bodies. The bee sting was documented by James Zalzulnick. Then because I made the reservation through groupon I never received the opportunity to buy the magiquest package and paid $36.00 for the game and wand instead of $50.00 for the game, wand, topper and magibelt. I asked could I pay the difference for the extra items and was told no. The package can only be purchased ahead of arrival and I had no way of knowing until I arrived. And finally I was over charged and the incident is still on going. We spent $122 and was charged $198. Despite all this we still had a great time. My son lost some time due to crying wanting to be held and sleeping because of the bee sting and I was definitely upset and scared for him, but the next day was recovered and back to himself. Though we had some negative experiences we have already booked our next stay and have planned ahead to get two gold dining passes, a wolf pass as well as two nights. This is thanks to Ramona at the front desk who gave me the scoop and showed me the packages. So although I wasted money buying the wand up front she tried to make our next stay better. It was clean enough for us. Yes popcorn was often in the elevators and my baby would try to eat it but we all have kids and realize kids make messes faster than we adults can clean them up. The room was very clean and in order. Dont waste your time on story time, the woman reading the story wears a mask the entire time so she sounds like the teacher from Charlie Brown "muffle muzzle woomp wommp woo." Dance party was fun though. I cant say I'm 100% satisfied but we did have fun and the great memories out weigh the bad.
