Spent 3 days at Point of Rocks Campground with my daughter in law and 2 small grandkids for baby girls 4th birthday. Rented an RV and picked this campground and had a wonderful time. The property is well maintained, nice restroom and shower area. The other campers were terrific and helpful as I am a camping novice. Easy hike to Watson lake. Will definitely return again
Dear God this place is beautiful. Clean and well kept. My first RV camping trip and did I find a treasure. This place is a hidden gem. The hiking, omg is great The view as you go up top. Kids are welcome and very pet friendly.
We stayed one night and had a great time. The campground is very nice and clean and quiet. Good for families. We hiked the trail that went into the hills behind the campground with our dog. He loved it. So many places to explore. The scenery was stunning. We walked around the campground and met many nice people. There were two aggressive, big black dogs that we had to avoid on our walks. The owners were able to control them though. We will definitely come back again. Very enjoyable!
A Must-See area of Arizona. The Granite Dells are amazing to see and hike in. The area is cooler than anywhere south - makes a great getaway for month of May at 5400ft. This campground is conveniently located near Watson Lake - just a 1/4 mile or so to the ramp where you can rent a Kayak for the day at only $25 for one person. The sites are spacious, especially the premium ones -well worth it. Site 64 especially has a small cove next to it where you can set up chairs with friends with trees that shade the sun. It is also close to the trail head. Sites and roads are dirt but fairly level. The hookups are very convenient. No troubles. Plenty of shade with trees and rocks all around. Easy to get OTA Digital from CBS and ABC, but not so with NBC. Be careful of the wind if it gets to 20mph or so, as it creates a natural dust devil or funnel every few minutes that carry across into the site from the road and make for a very dusty RV. Hard to breathe with all the dirt in the air. Also, there are ants everywhere you go in this area unless you stay on top of the rocks themselves. Also, you can hear the shooting range nearby which sounds like firecrackers going off constantly throughout the day. Traffic from nearby roads and construction noises as well. Pick a site away from the bottom of their map which overlooks this. Check out the trails at the far end of the upper campground as well as the two trail heads from each side of the ramp area. Fantastic scenery, especially around sunset! There's a huge park with grass at the bottom of the trail heading towards the boat ramp. Dogs will love it!…
The sites are very nice, but the sanitation of the showers and restrooms is non existent. Even after we contacted the management our concern especially during the Covid 19 outbreak they believe sweeping is all thats needed. I actually had the pleasure to meet management when he wandered into the laundry room our last day. Thats when he confronted me about the no dog policy concerning my service dog sitting quietly with me. It was then he shared he inspected the restrooms and found them acceptable. We were camped for a week only trash was emptied daily. After we stated our concern on hygiene during Covid19 they swept and ran water in the showers. The restrooms are in the worst health safety conditions and lack minimal cleanliness regardless even if we we were not dealing with a pandemic.…
