House In The Pines Hostel is a modern day hostel experience within walking distance of downtown Prescott, the famous Courthouse Plaza and infamous Whiskey Row and all the activities the area offers. Our hostel is in the historic district that surrounds the Courthouse Plaza and is a historic property itself. Ponderosa Cottage, the front cottage, was built before 1901 by putting three pre-existing "railroad houses" from the 1800's together. It has kept it's old west charm while modern amenities and comfort have been added. Now our cottage has two rooms with 3 bunks (six beds) and two shared bathrooms. It also has a large living room, full kitchen, and dining room. It also has a great little front porch with rocking chairs. The second cottage, Alpine Cottage, currently has a room with 2 bunks and ensuite bathroom. It will also house the TV room and we will be adding another room and bathroom in the near future. In between the two cottages are fire pit seating, picnic tables, deck table and chairs, and room for volleyball, short frisbee, horseshoes and more. Additionally, our mattresses are memory foam and all beds have a reading light, power bar, shelf for books, glasses, phones, a personal locker, and more. We provide breakfast. There is free wi-fi. All around us there are walking and mountain biking paths that run like ribbons through the town and out into the surrounding hillsides and mountains. There are lakes offering fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, picnicking and more. Many of the roads coming into the area are scenic and beloved by bikers and cyclists alike because the views are spectacular. We are also close to the historic mining town of Jerome, the breathtaking red rocks of Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, Flagstaff, Route 66, the Grand Canyon and more. You'll love House In The Pines Hostel because of the coziness, the location, and it's roomy and clean. Our historic property is good for solo adventurers, groups, and retreats and more.,

We had the luck to find 10 beds available at the House in the Pines for our team of roller derby girls in town for a game. The house manager, Hilary was SUPER sweet and accommodating and made use feel welcomed immediately. In the morning we met Jamie (or maybe Joyce? Sorry!) who

After a week of having reserved a bed in the hostel, I get a message from the Hostel Manager saying that another reservation had also been scheduled and thus would have to cancel my reservation. I dont think this is true because they would have told me when I did the

Emilia, I am sorry that you had this experience. I wish I had seen this sooner. Based on the date of your review it was during that time that we had a brand new set of staff members join us. Clearly, from you experience, the "new job" pain was more painful then it should have been. I am really sorry for your experience and hope that we can make it up to you sometime in the future.

I stayed here for 4 nights as a solo female traveler. Most of the day I was out and about and only was at the house to sleep. There were people there for a couple nights and people that have been staying there for much longer. There's a pretty strict no alcohol/drugs policy

I got the opportunity to stay at this very nice hostel for two weeks. The continental breakfast included milk, oj, fresh coffee, bread, cereal, English muffins, muffins and pastries - more than enough to fill me up in he morning. It's very well taken care of for a 128 year old

This is some sort of sober living half-way house for recovering addicts. I have stayed in hostels all over the world for the past 25 years & I can say with certainty that this is NOT a hostel. Its not somewhere safe for budget adventurous travelers to stay. Especially solo

We are so sorry you felt this way. We hope that next time you feel this way you will let someone know while you are in the facility so that your concerns can be addressed. We do host a mixture of travelers and local guests. Most of the time it's a nice balance but from time to time we do have a few more locals then travelers and it does make the hostel feel different. Some of our main attractions are activities and events on "Whiskey Row" in the town Square. Many of our guests come here to enjoy this. It can get a little wild. Conversely, the local guests who stay with us are usually between where they have been and where they are going and some stay longer than a traveller would normally stay. We are sorry you didn't have a great experience and hope you will continue to stay in hostels and might someday come back and stay with us again. Safe Travels, Jodee
