I stayed at the Hilton Peak in Phoenix, Az from the 13-17th of January. My husband and majority of my family are Hilton Diamond members so I have stayed at Hiltons all over the world 99% of the time we stay in a Hilton property. I have NEVER had so many things go wrong that I feel I need another vacation from the stress of this hotel. I did not book this reservation, as it was for a friends birthday, but I however did pay for it. I am EXTREAMLY disappointed and stressed. I had ants crawling on me at night IN MY BED! I had bites and irritation on my lower back. We had food in our room that we just ordered, came back after a quick shower to ants invading our dinner that we just spent over $150 for. We had water issues where we didn't have hot water, then the water didn't drain properly. The pullout sofa would not lay flat and was not functioning properly. Our refrigerator was not working in 2 of the rooms. I woke up at 4am so stressed out I requested for our rooms to be switched. I then found out that the 2nd room they moved us to was also infested and we had ants crawling on our tooth brushes and toiletries. I went to use the bathroom and there were ants in the tub and on the toilet seat. I requested for our rooms to be switched again because I refused to sleep with ants everywhere again and they switched us to another room ONLY TO BE WOKEN UP BY ENGINEERING saying that the unit below us was flooded because we took a shower the night before. We switched rooms 3 times in 4 days and would have had to switch again if it wasn't to us wanting to leave early on checkout. I have never felt so dismissed by the front desk staff. I tried to show the supervisor on nights the videos of the ants she was so unbothered. It honestly left me feeling that I no longer want to spend my money on the Hilton Brand. I felt that we were not taken care of the way we should have been.

We LOVE this hotel. Yes - it needs a tiny facelift, BUT it is incredible for families. Especially at this price point. We stayed in a King bed suite, so we had the baby in a pack and play in our room with a balcony and then our 6 year old was in her own room with a pull out couch. I think the Casitas are closed but next time we come we will definitely try and get one of those. If you are a couple looking for a romantic time, and you don’t like kids everywhere, this probably isn’t the resort for you. I cannot say enough about the staff at this place. At the pool, the bartenders and cabana/check in staff are awesome. We have a 8 month old baby, and Greg made sure she was fully accommodated with a pack and play AT THE POOL Y’ALL, and Sam set it all up like a boss. The water slide is so perfect for kids - our 6 year old daughter was obsessed. DO NOT SLEEP on food. Best chicken wings I ever had. Look - this ain’t the Four Seasons, but if you have little kids (under 10) and you wanna have a great vacation somewhere with hot weather, fun pools, great food and lots of drinks - this is IT.

The staff was wonderful throughout the resort. Suite was spacious and clean. We ate at the Hole in a Wall Restaurant twice for breakfast and it was delicious and very friendly staff. Our grandchildren loved the pool and slide.

In terms of a family oriented resort hotel, this is probably something for everyone in the family. Adults will find the fitness center and spa relaxing: (note the spa is closed for covid, but the fitness center is open). Kids will enjoy the lazy river waterpark and mini golf course. The whole family can find excitement in the tennis courts. Noting that during my stay both the lazy river and tennis courts were closed for remodel, but appear to be really inviting when open. Adults will find the staff to be a breath of fresh air, staff always have the best interest at heart, and may even find comedy in staff comments about the "cold" Arizona winters, especially if they are from the Northern states. I did have an issue with my toilet during my stay, but the maintenance staff were quick and professional with the repairs. Admittedly, parts of the hotel could use an update, but staff seem to be working continously on updates. Overall I found the experience at the hotel to be really enjoyable and recommend a stay here for anyone, especially parents traveling with children.

Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at this resort. Our 1BR was plenty of space for our family of 4 and the pool areas were great! Our balcony was essentially non-existent and definitely lacked some natural sunlight (as noted in other reviews). Yes, the rooms and the overall resort need some renovations. It's not terrible by any means, but our room and some of the common areas are looking a little tired and are certainly in need of a 'facelift'. Also, many of the standard activities/ammeniities (ie tennis courts, basketball court, etc.) were unavailable due to Covid and related staffing issues. These same issues contributed to the inconsistent experience at the Hole in the Wall restaurant. One night, the food and our waitress were excellent, the next night not so much. Once Hilton decides to reinvest some funds back into the resort, I could see this place rating a 4 - 4.5 star. Finally, one last comment about the Front Desk staff, who weren't very friendly or helpful at check-in. They seemed less than thrilled we were checking in and we had to learn all of the details about the resort from our Bellhop. Not a great first impression.
