I can not believe they can rent out these rooms the carpet was so old that we were scared to walk on it., plus the room really smelled. The noise of the freeway was so loud and could not get to sleep. So I went to the frt desk they were no rooms available only smoking rooms. I saw plenty of rooms not rented out, we could get our money back But were so tired on our travel, my wife could not go any further.
My review is based strictly on my interactions with staff, policy and the general state of the property from the outside. I reserved 4 nights, secured it with my credit card. Before arriving, my card was lost and I replaced it, but on the reservation confirmation, it says, "your card will not be charged until you check in." So I got into town, arrived about 8pm. I was tired, had a headache and wanted to go to bed. The first impression of the place was grim. Its a large property, barely lit. I had to drive around the complex before finding the office. So dark and grimy. I'm not sure where that grass in the photo was--I never saw it. The roof over the driveway to the office was collapsing, like maybe someone drove a truck under it. Or something. I found the office, and they couldn't find my reservation. Turns out they'd run my card at 6PM, it was declined (because I replaced it) and sold my room. Bear in mind, the website assured that MY CARD WOULD NOT BE CHARGED PRIOR TO ARRIVAL. Staff was fairly indifferent, and told me to go to Motel 6. Which was already booked up. In the 10-15 minutes I sat in the lobby, a soaking wet family came in complaining about a fight at the pool. Security was in as well. There are flyers and posters declaring that truckers are not to book rooms for other people, IDs for visitors are required and I got the distinct impression that there's a few criminal issues happening. I booked another motel, got there and it was like a breath of fresh air. Thank goodness. I wouldn't have survived the EZ 8 for most of a week.…
We had an early flight home, so this motel seemed to be fairly close to the airport. It took awhile to check in, sounded like it was fully booked. We got our keys and started driving around, saw a bunch of cars parked with broken windows and tons of trucks. As we passed the pool, there was a distinct odor of Marijuana. The non-smoking room we went in was reeking with cigarettes. We had children with us and we had to go back to a very nice and friendly receptionist and asked to get refunded for our stay and headed straight to the airport.
I was grateful the location was near my destination as well as the 17 Freeway. The front desk staff were friendly despite it being quite busy during check in. There's a McDonald's and Taco Bell in the same parking lot plus a Country Boys restaurant attached to the motel. Across the street is a Mexican food restaurant and liquor store. The property itself is quite spacious with a pool, jacuzzi, and outdoor tables/grills. The room itself was a good size with usual amenities, thought I was given one with two beds despite booking a single. Unfortunately neither bed was too comfortable, felt uneven and hard to get comfortable. Surprisingly, no level of wi-fi access is free at this location. Also, it was odd that my room had a tube television as I had not seen one of those in many years. On top of that, there was no remote for the TV so I had to get one from the front desk. I also informed them the smoke detector was on the nightstand rather than in the slot on the wall (didn't fit). Strangely, most of the outlets were loose, which made it tough to secure anything with 2 prongs. The motel has a policy about showing IDs of anyone coming to your room or else you are kicked out. Maybe there used to be issues with prostitution or homeless here? Lastly, check-in is 3pm. I arrived shortly after 4pm and had to wait until nearly 4:30 until my room was ready. If you are looking for a throw back motel, check out this EZ-8.…
Stayed 5 nights..... Not knowing layout of city, this is about 7 blocks down, 3 blocks along to Diamondbacks stadium and start of Phoenix heart. Easy to walk to centre, + fi d Metro service. For $2a day (seniors or $4most adults) you can ride all day. Excellent transport system taking you to all four corners of Phoenix valley. We loved Mesa and Tempe and Scottsdale.
Attempted to book room through Booking.com. Booking.com declined my credit card; so I booked elsewhere. About three hours later I was charged $57.27 for a room that I didn't even get to stay in. If Booking.com has issues with payment types, I would imagine there would be some communication of this. It's ridiculous that I would be charged for the room or a cancellation fee because Booking.com messed up.
Sketchy area and sketchy people in the parking lot at check-in. Check out manager was very capable. Room stunk, holes in curtains and chair. Didn’t even shower. Wouldn’t have felt clean. Dog hair in corner of room.
This place is bad. Carpet so dirty walking on it barefoot after a shower turns your feet black. Twenty five year old cathode ray tube television. No refrigerator. Officious authoritarian management. Different increased price every day. Restaurant serves marginal food in unconscionably small portion control. Lots of homeless walking through hunting for butts and rifling through garbage cans. Spotty indifferent housekeeping. Much too expensive for what the property delivers.
This is not the Hilton BUT it is a good reasonable priced, clean motel. Lisa has cleaned out the unsavory people and there is security on site. It is an older motel but they keep it clean. Pool is a pleasure, hot tub good temp. Lots of truck parking and the staff is friendly. The Country Boys resturant on site has a good variety of food to choose from and it is all good. Daily specials, two for one. Staff is great. The bar area is far enough away you can bring the family and not be bothered. Everything in one place. Very easy to get to and quiet. Some people might find the airplanes annoying but we didn't. Again family friendly, safe and clean. Stayed a week never saw a bug, bed or cockroach. If you don't need the Hilton this is a great place.
This is a no nonsense moderate hotel close to the freeway and an EZ access spot. It seems to be popular with truckers, although it is very quiet. The rooms are adequate in size and very clean, and there is a self-serve laundry facility on the premises. There is a central vending machine area with a microwave (none in the rooms or fridges), and coffee is available in the lobby in the morning. Country Boys Bar & Grill, attached to the hotel, is a real gem! Fresh, flavorful food served in a clean, welcoming environment. The sister servers are a delight! Along with country style breakfasts and lunches they offer Friday Fish Fry, Saturday B.B.Q. Ribs, and Sunday Prime Rib specials. A full bar offers Happy Hour from noon to 5:00pm. This place was a very pleasant surprise.
