Nestled in a scenic location, Hilton Phoenix Tapatio Cliffs Resort offers travelers a blend of modern and classic ambiance. While the resort's cleanliness and spacious pools garner appreciation, some guests have called out the need for updates in rooms and amenities. The golf course and proximity to trails are highlights, yet service quality and room maintenance receive mixed reviews. Although the staff often earns praise for their friendliness, issues with Wi-Fi and high costs contribute to concerns about the resort's overall value.

Our family spent over a week here. What a charming little city in the mountains. We are SO very pleased we chose this place. From the moment you drive into it, it's just an incredible sight to behold. I couldn't believe it. It may not be cheap, but it's well worth it. They have several pools, the fitness center had a nice one and a (very) hot tub which felt great. They have "The Falls" which are some bigger pools and a water slide, and before dinner time they have drinks and food that servers will bring you from Cascades Cafe. A good way to relax the day away. Be aware that this cafe closes down before supper time. Towels are in plentiful supply and were often warm, which was nice. Entering and leaving the resort is interesting, in that you have to go through these arches that are also a walkway to get to the lobby, so be careful as you drive through. People may be walking. If you're walking, be aware of cars. This place is literally built into a mountain - we were in the 4170's area, the highest point in the resort with a commanding view of the resort, and mountains immediately next to our room - amazing! The whole area had hewn rock of the mountain that was honestly pretty fascinating to just stare at - though I'm a lifelong rock hound. We even hiked over onto the mountain, and this I highly recommend if you are able and cautious. Take your time, you'll be rewarded with a view of Phoenix and the whole resort! The rooms were well laid out - ours was a double queen w/sleeper sofa, but the room with the double queens with a TV could be separated from the couch/living room/TV by some pocket doors and a double door. The sleeper sofa had a metal bar across it that was uncomfortable, as almost all sleeper sofas have, but it's an extra bed...buy a cheap mattress topper if needed for extra comfort. Our room and most every I saw had a small balcony, perfect for morning or evening relaxing, and for drying off swim clothes in the dry Arizona weather. This place does involve a LOT of hills/slopes, some rather steep. I got a great cardio workout walking to the lobby in the morning for some Starbucks. They have golf carts zipping about and be sure to watch for phones that can summon them to wherever you are (tips always appreciated). The shuttle drivers were so kind and polite. So - this can spare those tired legs or if you are less able to take all of the slopes and hills and walking. It was rough at first, but I grew to really enjoy the walking opportunities. Parking is a challenge overall, especially if you get back late. Some of the areas have you navigating your car through very narrow passages where people have parked their huge pickups or minivans in what look like "streets." Though I had a minivan, i never chose to parallel park in the narrow "streets" - it was just way too tight and I didn't need someone side swiping our rental. Drive slowly, our minivan made it - but just barely at times. With big cars, avoid going through the "streets" altogether if possible. I highly recommend getting familiar with the resort layout, as there were a few times coming back from sunset gazing and late dinners to full parking lots near our room - i just dropped the family off and went forth in search of parking. Then I had to find my way back to where our room was (I could have used a phone to get a golf cart/shuttle to pick me up though, but what fun is that?). The resort is that large and spread out and complex, finding your way to your room from an unfamiliar spot can be an adventure. Totally awesome, in my opinion. We ate at Pointe in Thyme on our 2nd to last night there, and wish we'd enjoyed it more. Food was great, has a vibe of an old luxury restaurant, beautiful woodwork. Service was phenominal. I cannot recommend this resort enough. It's been around a while, so yes there may be certain things that need updating and repair, but I wasn't interested in a perfect, brand new, sterile resort - I wanted charm, and beauty, and this place overwhelms with both of these. They had bundles of internet cable hung up in places, so they're clearly working on improving their infrastructure, and I saw maintenance actively repainting some areas of the arches and such to keep it looking fresh. All who I met seemed to really care about this place, and you. It's a resort experience like my youth, where service is important and you have someplace to wander and enjoy yourself. I am in no way employed by Hilton or otherwise compensated for this review. I'm just some guy who found this place and bundled it into an Allegiant flight into Mesa, AZ...and loved his stay. We're so happy to have visited this cliffside resort, and we WILL be back.

We celebrated our one year anniversary and appreciated the upgrade to a Superior Suite from the Front Desk team. The suite was clean and well maintained for an older property and we loved the extra room. We also appreciated the late departure granted as Diamond members. Only concern was we ordered in room dining for Breakfast and was surprised to receive our food in to go containers placed in a paper bag. It took away from experience of the stay, but we understand the reasoning. Overall we loved the stay and plan on returning soon. Hopefully we’ll be able to enjoy the many amenities on property. Thank you Pointe Tapatio Cliffs Team!

First impression is everything is broken or breaking. As we opened the dented beat up hotel room door to the room it was spacious and the room was in ok shape. No microwave. The fridge didn’t work and we had to prop up the tv with the hotel phones to keep it from falling over. It took 4 times contacting the office, 3 in person, to get the fridge fixed as our food was going bad. No, I didn’t want pack up a family of 5 to move to another room. Just go get that fridge and put it in my room! Not a fun way to spend family time going back and forth and making ur kids eat all the food incase they didn’t come fix it cause they kept saying they would. Finally at almost 9pm they did. The room AC barely kept it cool and it was on 70 outside. For the campus the lower part is nice and fits price point upper part is not good. Watch out for broken curbs as tripping hazards everywhere in parking lots. The main pool is nice but don’t bother eating or getting drinks at the pool cause it took over 30 mins to get drinks and the food took 1 hr. The pool area was not even half full. It was ok food and value but come on I am there with kids and they want their $8 slushies in a decent time. The water for the waterslide and slide pool is super cold and almost nobody would do it. Next day we go the Starbucks in the lobby and guess what’s broken? The steamer so they can’t make any hit drinks. Unreal Overall it was a big disappointment cause this was the most expensive hotel of our Phoenix trip. It’s two things that made me give them a bad review. Nobody took action when I said all my food is going bad 4 times and the service at the pool was so lousy. I definitely recommend staying somewhere else

Spent one night to relax with the family and celebrate my birthday before moving on to other areas of Arizona. The Cliffs pool area and bar was decent enough, even though it was showing its age. We enjoyed the pools, slide, and hot tub. Food & drinks were fine. Not one lounge chair could be found in the pool area which took away from the relaxation, unfortunately. We were disappointed the area around the rooms was torn apart and the exterior of the buildings appeared run down. The ripped-up roads, construction vehicles and equipment, and debris made it hard to navigate the car up to our room. The construction workers were blocking the road to our room and wouldn't let us through. They yelled at us when we asked if we could get by. The interior room condition was okay, and the size was acceptable for a family of 5. Although the view from the balcony was nice, the condition of the balcony had the run-down condition of the exterior mentioned earlier. When returning from dinner off-property, a golf cart ride to the room was appreciated since the walk was far and steep in heels. Customer service was lacking and there was a general apathy and unfriendliness. We had politely communicated a few days before check-in that we'd be celebrating my birthday and that an early check-in would be appreciated, but not expected. Ultimately they did not accommodate an early check-in, which was not a surprise since it was a busy time, but it would have been nice for someone to at least say "Happy Birthday" upon checking in. I had asked if we could just proceed to the room when it was ready and use our digital key. They said "yes, certainly you could do that." When we got to the room the digital key (that the app said was activated) didn't work. When they sent security he said, "digital keys don't work for ANY Hilton property!" and seemed annoyed when we asked if he could supply us with a card key. Later in the evening when the lobby was empty except for my family, we asked the desk associate if she would be able to take a family picture of us. She said she could not because she was the only employee at the desk. I know it's just a little thing (and she was likely following a rule), but it was the culmination of several apathetic or negative experiences in general. This property seems to have some work to do to live up to the Hilton standard/price point. We had planned to stay at a more standard hotel in the Phoenix area but I booked this instead hoping to treat the family to a more special resort feeling. Unfortunately, Hilton Phoenix Tapatio Cliffs missed the mark and didn't deliver on that expectation.

We stayed here for a week on a spring break trip. Pros: Pool areas are very nice. The food service at the cafe by the pool was good. We had a suite and it was spacious, with a nice-sized living room. The mountains and golf course are beautiful around the hotel. The staff were nice and they did a good job for housekeeping, with daily service. Beds were comfortable. Cons: Wifi is TERRIBLE. We arrived and had to immediately be moved to another room, as we had zero signal. The second room was only slightly better. We had issues with the Wifi all week to the point we could barely use our devices. This was a huge pain, as we like to stream at night to decompress and there were times we couldn't even use our phones. Other cons include, not enough towels available at the pool. One per person or none at all at the main pool. Please invest in more towels, it just isn't that hard to do! Especially on chilly days, one wet towel is not enough. While the pool-side food was good, the drinks were very weak for the high prices charged. Parking was a pain sometimes. The hotel needs a little updating, especially the tubs in the bathroom, as they are shallow and leaky. With new bathrooms and carpet, the rooms would be awesome, as they are spacious. And please, for the love, figure out the Wifi problem.

We had stayed at Tapatio Cliffs a couple of time about twenty years ago and it was great in every way. This time around found many of the same great things, but some real disappointments. The place has been allowed to go without upkeep for too long. I walked around our room with white socks on and they were dark brown on the bottom. Pointe in Time is fine, but the menu is limited. Accessibility is definitely lacking. We probably won’t go back.

I have stayed here many times in the past and each time that I come here the rooms look older and not being updated. This is a very large and spread out resort built on a mountain side with many beautiful views. There is the main building with the rooms surrounding two pool areas. There is a family pool and an adult pool. I have stayed in all areas of the resort in the past. The outlying rooms are built on the cliffs up steep drives with limited parking near your room. You will be far enough away from the main building and the restaurants so you can either drive or walk to the main attractions if you walk there are no sidewalks and if you drive there is a good chance your parking spot will be taken. The main lobby has a coffee bar that serves Starbucks and snacks. There is a cantina restaurant by the adult pool but it wasn't open when we were there.. The restaurant selection was limited and the two restaurants were outdated . There is a restaurant on the top of the mountain but we couldn't get reservations because its open to all of Phoenix. My suggestion to management is to keep a block of taples open for resort guests. We did eat appetizers at the bar which were just ok. The water park is the main attraction. This resort needs more of a sandwich selection. All in all the food at the water park pool was the best . We stayed there a full week and had adjoining rooms with my family so this made our small room look bigger when we opened the adjoining door. We did a lot of hiking every day. This resort is located across the street from a state park at North mountain so you have access to a lot of great hiking trails. There is also a great golf course here.We paid a lot of money to stay here and I think next time we vacation in the Phoenix area we will look at other options for the dollars that we spent. I would recommend this resort for families with children because the water park pool was enjoyable. I would highly recommend this resort for hikers and golfers because the trails are right there as well as the championship golf course. My final thoughts on this resort is that it's way to big and spread out and under staffed . The buildings need updating. The cost is too high compared to other resorts.

This Hotel was very clean, room’s excellent they are all suites. The buildings are built on the hills so if you can’t walk alot or unsteady it will be difficult. They do have free golf carts to pick you up and return you, and they are right on with that…they are there in seconds. Lots of people have a car, but we did not so we would have to hire a car our problem this property has No concierge (on the website it says it does). So no one knew anything about what was available outside of the resort, restaurants, stores, bars, nothing!!! This resort has 4 restaurants, but Point of Tyme os the main restaurant. A 26$ a person breakfast buffet, Lunch and dinner with 5 starters priced starting about $15 and Entrees range from $25-$40. Around the pool Cascades cafe open till 5:00. The Different Point of View supports to be beautiful with outstanding views. Opens a 5 and you need a reservation. We were there for 9 days could not get a table before 8:30. So we never was able to go. Finally the have a small breakfast sandwich in the lobby get there early cuz everything goes fast! Also if there are 10 people in line you have already waited 15 minutes and the employee want to take a break they just put a sign up On a break be back in 20 minutes … WHAT? Food was good but not alot of choices. Wait staff in the restaurant are all very nice and good. There is a golf course which is very nice, if you want early tee times call in advance. 2 beers and 2 water available for purchase at the start but there is a cart out on the course. Renting clubs are $45 if your staying at the resort. I do want to say all of out drivers of the golf carts were there in seconds and so friendly and accommodating. I really can’t say enough 100% on those guys and service.

Resort is on a Cliff, must be ok with walking up and down hills. Rooms desperately need to be renovated. Overall, I stayed there because the conference was at this location, so it was convenient, however if I was in the area, would prefer a different establishment.
