Great hotel and the staff were simply superb! Right from the check-in, told Trae about our stay and we are celebrating a graduation. He was able to upgrade us to an amazing room and when I mean amazing, it was amazing! I wish I could move into the room. He went above and beyond by making the experience amazing for my family and myself and kept everything a surprise. At the pool bar, Milton was just as amazing with good conversations and great drinks. I forget the valet's name, young looking guy worked in the morning and always helped us with our luggage and had the car ready to go.
There are a LOT of things to like about this hotel. My wife and I have stayed here a few times before, but not in a few years, and I enjoyed this one-night stay very much. First of all, the room was ready upon arrival, which is very important to me, because it’s just awkward when you have to sit around or find something to do when it’s not ready. Secondly, the front desk representative (I think it was Jennifer) was excellent. She really did make me feel welcome, accommodated my higher floor request, and in my case I had booked a second room for a friend, and she got my friend on the same floor as us. This was on a Saturday night where there’s a ballgame in town, too, so that was impressive. She was informative, friendly, and helpful, I liked the check-in experience. I was using IHG rewards points for this stay, and I have to say I was not treated like a second class citizen, as some hotels do when a guest uses points, or a third party site, to book. I truly felt valued. Not a corporate “we want our customers to feel valued” lip service kind of thing either, but I am serious, I really did feel like they valued me as a guest based on not only the check-in experience, but the entire stay. They have a text service for requests as some hotels do. That service only works if there are humans behind it that respond quickly and helpfully. And that was certainly the case here. They texted me shortly after I arrived in the room to see if I liked it. I thought that was a nice touch. And I DID like the room, VERY much. They put me on the top (10th) floor and the room had a great view of the mountains to the south. Now, how’s THAT for treating a guest redeeming points just like fully payin guests? See? But also I had a couple of questions during the stay that were answered quickly and helpfully. And you can use the text service to check out as well. The room itself was great. Not only did it have a view, but the bed was VERY comfortable. I liked the pillows, the mattress firmness, and even the nice padded headboard. Plus the edges of the bed were padded, so even if you do happen to stumble around at night and bump your leg on the bed, you’re not gonna get hurt. There’s a padded bench, a sizable one, below the window. So plenty of space to sit. I liked the little round clock radio that had a circular fluorescent light on the back, because at night it acted like a night light, it reflected off the wall behind it and did not annoy me during sleeping at all, it was just the right brightness. I know, people don’t get excited about clock radios but I really did think that was a cool feature. I liked the cage-style light fixture over the table, and the table itself was cool, it had like a Formica finish and a glass cover that I thought added a nostalgic touch to an otherwise modern room. TV size is very large. I didn’t watch it so I can’t comment on it, but the only minor drawback for a longer stay is no streaming. But I got the feeling you could bring your own streaming stick if you wanted to. Good closet space too. And the bathroom was great! I LOVED the shower, with the cool faux wood flooring, open half, great pressure, and quick to come to hot temperature. And this is key - enough racks to accommodate at LEAST two towels to hang up. So many hotels fail on this point, you have two people in a room and one of them has to settle for a spot where the towel really is not going to dry well at all. Very happy to be able to have two towel racks here. Particularly when there’s no housekeeping service, although they’ll bring you more towels, whatever you need, if you text them. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash all affixed to the wall, conveniently. And the body wash smelled great! It’s just nice when you can take a nice shower and feel refreshed on a hot summer Phoenix day. Location is great downtown, even though we’re not here for a sporting event. Several good restaurants nearby and there’s even a Fry’s grocery store JUST across the street! Valet guys were pretty good and self-parking seemed like it would be easy too. Door people were excellent, they opened them for us every time, with a smile and a welcoming attitude. The only area for improvement I could see is maybe add some USB ports near the beds or really anywhere. I mean, there are enough outlets to charge your devices with a power source, but I like the built-in ports. Also, I don’t think I ever got a notification from the IHG app that I was able to check in or that my room was ready, even though when I arrived and used the in-person front desk, it was ready. I would definitely stay here again. Very pleasant experience. They thought of a lot of nice touches.…
The service (desk and valet) were great, but the bed, linens, pillows and towels (room and pool) had all seen better days. Also this is not the fault of the hotel but the entire area surrounding the location is under complete construction making it incredibly difficult to access the hotel. While the actual work didn’t start until after 7am they were moving equipment as early as 630. All told I wouldn’t stay here again until updates are made and the city constitution is complete.
Katie was such a sweet and informative front desk agent. She was a fantastic greeter. Ben (the night front desk agent) was very helpful. IAN was THEE BEST waiter/bartender…I have met in a long time. He was personable, accommodating, knowledgeable and very nice. Whatever his title, he deserves a promotion. Even though Dillon was very busy he still took time out of his day to bring us waters by the pool and then we met him again at blue hound to take our order. He was very efficient and courteous. Thank you for a great stay! We truly appreciate you!
Great hotel with over the top customer service. The check in process was ultra smooth and we were able to get an upgraded room with our American Express platinum card. Amazing water pressure !!! Needed waters in our room, called the front desk and before I hung the phone up there was a knock at the door with two cold high end bottled waters. The complimentary wine from 5-6 was a nice touch. The rooftop pool offered a club like experience similar to what you find in Vegas or old town Scottsdale. If you have the chance check out the nearby sushi restaurant called Harumi Sushi and Sakke. Request to sit at the bar. The sushi chef David was incredibly talented and funny.
I stayed at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar in Phoenix in the Presidential Suite for 2-nights. I want to give a shoutout to Trey, who provided outstanding service. He's a keeper. Make sure not to lose him. : )
Just stayed here for a night. The hotel was very nice & clean. The lobby smelled good. The rooms were big & clean. The staff were very nice. Happy hour was also nice. Location is great. The only thing is the pool is not a roof top pool. It’s on the 3rd floor and after a certain time the building is blocking the Sun. So get out there early. Overall I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed at this Kimpton for two nights and had a great stay. Self parking is a little confusing but the valet guys were kind enough to explain where to go. Check in was quick and service was great. The room was nice and the beds were extremely comfortable. We happened to pass by wine hour on the second night and Trey was extremely kind and we had our complimentary drinks. (Love this feature) We also spent some time on the pool which is really nice but does get crowded quickly. The hotel is in perfect location of Chase field, restaurants, bars and there is a grocery store across the street. Overall we had a great stay and would highly recommend to anyone in town.
The location and service is excellent, but the self parking was complicated by sharing the underground parking with everyone else with the restaurants, hotel, entertainment complex above, which means separate elevators needs yo be taken from the hotel, and security was sketchy. We were looking forward to a drink at the pool bar after work, but each night it was booked by private events.
This hotel should be rated #1 in Phoenix! The staff from bottom to top and all in between are great. Service seems to be their mission statement. I stayed 10 days and would have stayed longer if possible. The customer service, friendly staff and patrons and good food are second to none. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation. Kudos to a job well done to everyone employed there!
