This was our first time staying at a Doubletree and will likely be the last. We were assigned a room on the first floor directly across from the office, right next to the check in desk, and sharing a wall with the 24 hour gym. The hallway was pungent with the smell of weed. When we opened the door to our room, a handful of gnats flew out. The whole room was infested with them. The room obviously used to be a smoking room, but the scent wasn’t fully removed. The floors were old, stained, and rough. Additionally, there wasn’t much sound proofing, we could hear the front desk talking, the people in the office working, and people in the gym. Because of these reasons we requested a room change. We were told by Todd at the front desk that they couldn’t accommodate our request because they were sold out. He told us this on two different occasions. We found out that was a lie. The website showed many rooms available and we even had a friend call later to see if they had availability. He was told there was availability. We inquired about canceling our reservation due to these issues. But, we were told that was not possible, as our reservation was non refundable. We ended up leaving and booking a room at Hilton Tapatio Resorts instead and had a wonderful experience there. It is in a similar price range and I highly recommend booking there if you are traveling to Phoenix. We paid for our room even though we didn’t stay in it. This should show you how bad it is. At the risk of sounding dramatic, this is the worst experience we have had at a hotel. Please avoid it.

Nice stay in a rather questionable part of town but obvious security was on constant patrol. Rooms were nice and good sleep was had by both of us. Adequate bathroom with standard amenities. Had a small fridge but no microwave.

When I checked in I was asked if I was a Hilton Honors member. I didn't know but the hostess looked it up for me and I got a better rate. She also gave me vouchers for the buffet breakfast (maybe ask nicely for them!). The hot breakfast was great. Various juices, muffins, pastries, toasting breads, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs (the usual hotel eggs), bacon, french toast sticks, sausage, etc. The pool was large and heated to a comfortable temperature. Maybe add a cabinet of pool towels near the pool instead of having to ask for them at the front desk. Room was comfortable and clean. Walk-in shower was large. Hotel was near lots of known restaurants and close to I17 for easy access to anywhere in Phoenix area. I would definitely stay here again.

Had a pretty bad experience here. My mom was sitting outside and one of the staffs came out and asked her if she was homeless, even though they saw her check in and walk in and out of the lobby. Not sure why they asked that. The security guard also walked outside and was making passes at my mom. He then followed her when she went to the pool area and kept asking her if everything was okay. We felt very uncomfortable and creeped out. Again, not sure why they acted like this towards her and if this is just a bad location but i’ve been to countless doubletree hotels and never had an experience like this. As guests, we did not feel safe.

Have stayed here several times in the past. Always clean and comfortable. Good staff. Only complaint is the furniture and decor are starting to get a bit worn. Time for a rehab in my opinion. Love the cookies!

This was our second corporate visit to this location. This will also be our LAST visit. The property, honestly, needs to shut down for a year for a complete overhaul and renovation. The rooms were disgusting. The interior of the ceilings were actually getting ready to fall down. A number of our corporate guests complained about bugs in the room, cockroaches, and other unsettling conditions. However, with this in mind...we did have a cocktail party for our guests which was delightful. The catering staff was superior. The front desk staff was equally as good. Its just that the PROPERTY needs an overhaul. This is not a HILTON that anyone would be happy about.

I have been a Hilton Honors member for over 40 years. I have never been treated as bad at any hotel chain then I was here. We brought my grandson for a Hockey tournament. It was a stay to play which means you stay at one of the tournament hotels. I had my daughter book it and use my rewards #. They would not honor it because she booked it. I still paid for it. They are advertising for teams to come here and stay. Then they treat them like criminals. Teams beware. Do not come here. They have the very worst restaurant with the worst service. They expect you and your family to eat here. They will not allow you to eat any other food besides theirs anywhere on the property except your room. I have stayed all over the world and have never been treated the way I was treated here. I am canceling my Hilton rewards and going somewhere that appreciates me as a customer after this. Look into this very carefully if you are considering staying here.

The hotel was ideally situated right off the highway and made travel through the state easy. The room was overall acceptable but had some noticeable nasty looking carpet stains. There is no chamber service at all unless requested. This should have been mentioned at check in. The room was $180.00 per night and I don’t feel the experience was exactly commiserate with the cost.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Doubletree as the room was clean and very spacious. I just love the view of the pool with the wall to wall windows. The parking was plentiful with access to the hotel. I really appreciated the Security and there presence was known. Everyone was friendly and said hello. The lobby was comfortable and well appointed. We will definitely be back as the location is close to our friends and family.

Excellent hotel. Very clean and courteous staff. I would stay here for every visit. Russ was absolutely incredible at check in. I don't think I've ever been cared for so well at a hotel. This guy is amazing and deserves every accolade possible. He has experience, knowledge and is ultimately caring. You can feel his warmth when you walk up to the front desk. He made me a return customer for life. Very satisfied and I will be back.
